  1. Garage has just told me that the job entails engine & gearbox out and flywheel off - approx £450 - all to replace a small oil seal! Mechanic mentioned that there is an oil additive which can "rejuvnate" oil seals - does anyone know of this "magic" additive!?
  2. Thanks for that - looks like a garage job then!!
  3. I've just found out that I have a leak from the main engine oil seal! Haven't had a quote from garage to change it - is it a DIY job or am I wishful thinking!
  4. Thanks Micro, but I couldn't find any way through the loom! I've managed to thread the sensor bulb through the driver's door and snugged it under the front door pillar trim. Best Regards Jock
  5. Thanks - I'll look for it tomorrow.
  6. Hi all, I'm a bit stumped as to how I feed the external bulb for this thermometer outside the cab! I can't find any way through to the engine compt to give a true outside temperature reading. Any suggestions will be very welcome! Thanks Jock
  7. Thanks martin - I always thought that gearbox oil was a different type to engine oil (HP/EP). Do you know if I can do an oil level check without removing covers underneath? Many thanks. Jock
  8. Hi All - this may sound like a stupid question but last week had my Focus in for a 1 year service & oil change and was told that the rear gearbox oil seal was weeping oil. I asked how do I check the oil level and was told that it is combined with the engine oil and the engine oil dipstick shows the level in both engine & gearbox!! This sounded alien to me but not being up on modern motors I thought I'd seek the wisdom of fellow Focus owners! Mnay thanks in advance. Jock
  9. Hi Dan - just to say thanks for an easy and effortless transaction with Adrian Flux - I was called back within a day and am now one of your customers! Cheers Jock
  10. Hi Dan - I'm in the process of buying a Focus 1.8TDCi next week and attempted to complete the online form using the link provided to Adrian Flux. It appears to throw a wobbly when I state my occupation as "Retired"! Maybe best if I talk to human! Who shall I ring? Cheers Jock
  11. Thanks all - local Ford dealer recognised the FINIS code but then wanted £32+VAT for a single L/S! Bought a pair of 30 watt Pioneers for a tenner and fitted them! Now have music at back of van.
  12. Hi All - Does anyone know where I can get a replacement rear speaker for a Transit Duetto camper van. The markings on the duff one are: 95 BP 18808 BB followed by BF201. It's elliptical 7.5" x 5" and rated at 20 watts. I've tried the local Ford dealer who doesn't recognise the number. Failing that is there any compatible speakers from another Ford model? Many thanks in advance. Jock
