  1. Someone Mucking About With My Car?

    Although it won't stop anyone but it might alert you seeing as your bedroom is at the front and also scare people off you could get something like a window alarm and put it on the gate and flick it to "on" just before you go to bed or when you get back from work. https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&tbm=shop&q=window+alarm&oq=window+alarm&gs_l=products-cc.12...0.0.0.5924.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0..0.0...0.0...1ac. Cost of £5-£15 might be worth having a go. just put something waterproof around it and spray it black or same colour as your gate. Although the post man might also have a fright but that depends if you have a post box at the end of the drive of not as well.

  3. Mud Flaps

    What do you guys think about having these on the focus? I washed mine the other week and had to get out the tar remover to get rid of all the bit of tar that had built up on the car near where these would sit.
  4. I've had my focus over a year now and noticed the handbrake now needs pulling up a lot more. when I first got the car was just one or two clicks now takes around five or so. I plan to service the car on the bank holiday weekend myself with my dad's help just wondering what the best way is to do this. My old fiesta I took off the handbrake cover and tightened it on the cable but a garage then told me I should of adjusted the drums instead. what's the best way to do this on my focus?
  5. Premium Petrol & Knock Sensor

    I always put shell in if I can and personally think it lasts longer. otherwise its rubbish tesco fuel only because it's easier to get to for me. no point me driving 3-5 miles out of my way just to get some shell petrol.
  6. 12V Sockets

    surely thats not from the small LED. I have my bluetooth hands free kit and satnav charger plugged in to the 12v port on my focus and never had any battery problems. (left it for 3-4days before) and my old fiesta had 12v port live after car was off so i once used it to charge my phone over night and no problems next day.
  7. Sat Nav

    My 4 year old garmin is doing well. Although I had a fault on it where pressing on the screen pressed the wrong letters on the keyboard. I turned it off and on and it fixed itself though. It can some times take ages to find satellites but just make sure you turn it on before you start moving or stop for a min and let it pick them up. Although a friend bought his at the same time as me he has now replaced his with a newer version as they don't take long at all to get signal.
  8. Broken Car...

    Sorry if anyone here works for quickfit but I don't trust these idiots to do work on my car. My old 52 reg fiesta I took in to get the tracking fixed as I knew it was off from driving straight on a motorway with a steering wheel turned half way. They said all was fixed went for a drive in it and was still out. went back made them check it again. then said it was all fine. Took it to a more expensive small business type garage they said the tracking was rusted up and they had to do some stuff to free it so they could adjust it. basically quick fit did nothing to my car and charged me for it. I'd never go back there again for work on my car! I did although go to a different quick fit as I needed a MOT doing that day and they were cheap and I know the car is fine and they aren't doing any work to it. As for staying on topic, best to go just to ford straight off if its in warranty it will cost you nothing. Then make sure they mark it down as the day you took it in for this fault and not mark it down as the day you drive off with a fixed car which could be out of warranty and expect to charge you for it.
  9. Finally Saved Up!

    just be careful on the resolution. You will find that some software will fill more than the screen making it so you can't click stuff at the bottom. but besides that netbooks are great, had mine for around 3 years and still holds its battery. The latest range of 11.6" laptops are very good next step up if you still want something small, lightweight and portable.
  10. Dynamo

    First time I saw him on TV he went behind a fence and lifted up a sheet so you could just see his head above it and next thing you know he's in front of the fence. Unlucky for him the camera man didn't zoom in enough or get the correct angle and you could see the shadow from him lifting his legs over but still impressive how his head basically stayed in the same place.
  11. Black Box Scam

    I thought it didn't matter on mileage till you hit the 9k+ mark. I don't do a hell of a lot of miles and put my from 9k to 6k and nothing changed so i left it at 9k. not sure if as low as 3k does make it less tho but still its usually only around £40 per 1k miles. Best thing with insurance company's seem to be check them daily or twice a day as prices are live and do change. Just save the quote number and you can always get it for that lowest price you find.
  12. Moving Address

    Well the thing is my mother still owns the property. She just plans to rent it out and we still have access to the property and plan to setup mail forwarding to the other address anyway. But as we don't "Live" at the address probably is best to change it. I'll have a dig around see if I can find my paper copy anywhere. sadly I don't want to go without my ID for a few weeks :P I'll sort it out at a later date when I can go without having it.
  13. Moving Address

    Well my passport has my new address on so I can use this as ID if needed and have my bank details at the new address. I don't have my paper license so this will likely cause problems if I was to update the address and also cost me for a new one.

    Has anyone here moved address and needed to move their cars etc to a new property. Do you really need to update your drivers license as well?
