      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Depends on country. My car has halogen lights and headlight washers so I suspect it has the additional fluid reservoir.

    How is the back side molded from factory? Are you still able to physically fit the full size spare wheel or will it only fit either space saver or no spare wheel at all? Space saver is quite stupid idea... If you are riding somewhere with full boot and you have flat... where are you supposed to put your dirty flat wheel if the boot is full and spare tire wont fit to the space savers space?

    I have left hand drive focus. On mine I have to remove throttle pedal to get to the filter. I thought that mine was pain in the ***** but it seems that right hand drive filter change is even worse.

    I guess that's the future of modern cars :( Everything is integrated and automatic. However there is no support from manufacturer and the older the car gets the more useless and frustrating the cool gadgets of today get. If something gets broken after ten years you are on your own. No support from manufacturer, no spare parts or they cost more than gold (get a loan to fix the touch screen of your entertainment system that controls most of your cars functions). And since everything is integrated you loose substantial amount of car functionality.
  8. Engine Vibrations - Gearbox Mount?

    No, I did not take pictures. But if one of your mounts had to be changed already, then the chances are that others are bust also. However I noticed the problem when I had loud vibrations after clutch change. It turned out that garage had stripped the mount threads of the gearbox mount. I had to helicoil the treads to be able to change the mount. It was an aluminium piece with aluminium threads and it can be easily stripped when unscrewing the bolt. Even tho I noticed vibrations after stripped thread mounts were still totally worn out and the improvement after new mounts was much greater than I expected. Just fair warning of the thread thingy.

    I have MK2 1,6ti-vct (2006). I changed motor mounts last year at 190 000 km. All were perished and the gearbox mount was on worst condition of them all. I got mine from Fordparts UK and their sales help told me which one I needed according my cars VIN number. Since your car is only 2 years younger I would suspect that you should change them all.

    Just to follow up in case some one else finds it interesting. Went to the dealer with the clunk. They confirmed abnormal noise and took the valve cover off to see, if there is anything obvious. Checked valve clearances, they are ideal (1,6 ti-vct does not have hydraulic lifters so it was a good idea to check the clearances any way after 203000 km). Nothing obvious was found. All surfaces were in excellent condition and everything seemed OK. Further steps would mean too much work. They said that it might be that valve rods top surface might not be smooth any more and that might be the reason for clunk. However I'm not going to tare a running motor apart for this because besides the sound no ill effects can be seen/felt. There are more variables for this than I can see/understand because sometimes it is louder and some times it is almost silent but it has something to do engine temperature because it is more audible with cold engine. I have located the origin of the ticking sound to the cylinder next to ignition coil. I do not have correct tools for this but used screwdriver to the ear method. So I'm fairly certain it is not VCT system. Anyhow. Current plan is to change oil twice a year (interval about 7000-10000 km) and drive it to the ground.

    My mk2 road noise was so bad that when I did 200 km drive i was totally exhausted. I tore interior out and did full sound isolation to the car. I haven't done rear doors yet because noise levels are already acceptable. However I might still do wheel arches. Tire noise could be much lower. I got bit worse mileage but with out added sound isolation my car was crazy uncomfortable.

    I did search earlier also but didn't find it then. So no flaps. Is there still something in intake manifold that could do sound like that or is it maybe lifter then?
  13. Wiper issue 2011 Focus Mk3

    I do not know if mk3 has the same behavior but with mk2 when you wash the screen and keep pressing water pump button many times (like typing in morse code), then wipers behavior comes erratic. They keep wiping much longer than they should and then on the return stroke stay up on the window. When the after wipe timer runs out then the wipers return to normal position. Just pressing the button once and keeping it pressed does not result this kind of behaviour. Maybe MK3 has this same problem? Edit: Oh, you are talking about wipers literally getting stuck to the screen? I am using bosch wipers for my screen and never had those problems.

  15. Hello, I have ticking sound coming from my engine. I have listened and it is not vct system that is located on the left. Sound is coming from the right side. I do not have proper tools but listened using screwdriver. Injectors sound normal to me and when I listen to the utmost right intake tube, there is the sound most dominant. Second from the right has the sound also but not as loud. However puting the screwdriver agains the head itself produces the same sound as intake tube. Sometimes the sound is audible more and some times less. Sometimes it is silent. I have read that intake manifold have flaps that will wear out and my understanding is that this is the exact sound that it makes in that case. However when looking pictures at ebay I do not see flaps on this version of intake manifold. Are they located more inside of manifold or is this new design that does not have flaps at all? Part number on the car is 4M5G-9424-CC I know that the latest version that will fit my car is 4M5G-9424-CG Do anybody know what was updated and am I on the right track when suspecting intake manifold? I do not experience any loss of power nor do I have any ill behavior from the car except this ticking sound. No error codes are present. I recorded the ticking sound also. Is it the manifold or maybe valve lifter?
