      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi I have a 2011 Titanium S-Max, I have noticed both side lights are not coming on, the DRL's dim though when you turn the dial to the side lights.

    The dipped lights and main beam all work fine, rear lights all work fine, brake and reversing as well.

    Could this be a fuse issue?

  2. Hi everyone, bigger family now so looking to upgrade to a Grand C-Max or really we would prefer an S-Max.

    I have been looking ideally at the 2.0 or 2.2 diesel S-Max, and the Titanium package, can people advise me on potential issues areas I should look for when looking at 2nd hand S-Max's?

    Also is there much difference between the 2.0 and 2.2? is the larger engine that much better or is there little difference between the two?

  3. Hi I am looking to get either an S-Max or Grand C-Max but I have read very bad reviews on the fuel economy of the C-max.

    Can people please advise me on how good/bad the actual MPG is, I would probably look to get the 2.0 diesel version or the 1.6 diesel.

    Thanks in advance, I just want as much info as possible before I make a choice or either of these cars.

  4. You do lose something on the mpg but from what I've read on here I'm not doing too bad at around 38mpg.

    I do a mix of dual carriage way and town driving and my manual average is 47 thats on a 1.4 Zetec Petrol, 38 sounds decent for an auto.

    Also hope the op gets this resolved, and if it's faulty wiring please let us know...

    My Fez is by far the best car I have ever owned, and quite fun for a 1.4, would hate to see it expire on a wiring issue!!

  5. No one beats BMW, I have had numerous guys do stupid things, most recent is being overtaken at traffic lights, I moved and he overtook me forcing me to pull in and brake, at the next lights I rolled the windows down and asked "why" I was treated with pretty much every insult under the sun.

    My only tangle with a Vauxhall, a guy pulling out in front of me from a side road, I honked so he brake tested me, nice guy, so I hung back and let him move off, a few miles later and I was overtaking some cars in the 2nd lane when one darted out to almost bash sides ( is was the same guy ) I swerved away to avoid skidded slightly then suffered a blow out, lost control and hit a crash barrier in excess of 60mph, the Vauxhall driver had the courtesy to slow down, and give my brother the middle finger as he climbed out my wrecked car, so I have a special place in my heart for contempt of Astra drivers..

    Traffic police initially blamed me, I had collected another car during the spin, but after they measured the data from the cars they said I was not to blame, they never went after the other car, and my insurance had to pay for all damages, first time driving was 3 months later and the same idiot overtook me and 3 other cars by crossing a double white line and the wrong side of a traffic island putting all our necks on the block, he is known for being a utter idiot it seems, I never use that stretch of road now, my car was an utter write off, and it was a limited edition VW Golf..

    looking forward to seeing the pics as well, my Zetec is pretty much factory standard but I think it would look ok.

    Can the chrome trim be re-fitted from the standard grille to Asian one?

  7. even if you use the bodykit, I think you need to tell the insurance company, you would need to get that confirmed.

    I know after market alloys you need to declare.

    If it was me, but it is your money, I would make subtle changes to your exisitng car, drive it for awhile, build up your no claims, then upgrade.

    Things like the footwell bulbs, de-tango the front lights, fit an Asian market front grille, and the Zetec-S rear spoiler, alloy pedal covers, will all enhance to looks, but with lower costs.

    If you make drastic changes, the insurance company will rape you mate, and if you don't declare the changes I am afraid pleading ignorance to insurance companies won't wash, if you have to make a claim that is.

  8. I have the normal Zetec, with 15" alloy I think, and I have a full spare alloy and it fits in the well in the boot fine.

    You can't buy a jack and brace off Ford though, they will try and sell you a space saver with brace, jack etc.

    I have some alarmed searched saved on eBay for the jack and brace to suit, but no joy yet :(

    Yea awesome driver, but nutter at the same time!

    All of that, the bodywork rippling, the harsh landings, the twisting on the chasis, and still he probably has less rattles and issues than most of us on here -.-

    On a side note, I am far too tempted to get that body kit lol.

    The slow mo when you see if ripple was insane, just shows how tough those rally cars are, I said to the missus while watching I would love monster slashes on are Fez, the look I got wasn't good! lol
