Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Haunted Car

Mechanic friend thinks the storm put the alarm off which drained the battery. Quick jump later and it seems ok.
  2. Haunted Car

Today we've had quite a large hail shower and quite a lot of rain... At 6pm one of my daughters shouted to me that the car alarm was going off. I went out and unlocked the car to stop it. When I was going to pick up daughter #2 I was passing the focus in the wife's car and noticed the interior light was on, the indicators were flashing as if the hazards button was pressed and the front window wipers were moving slowly. As I was in a rush I couldn't stop to look. When I got back (15mins later) it had stopped. I popped the bonnet but it doesn't look like there was any water on the fusebox Any suggestions other than getting a good priest?
  3. Haunted Car

To make things worse I've just tried starting it for work and the battery is dead
  4. Interior Trim Clip - MK2

I had to remove my doorcard to fix the door strap the other day. In doing so I've broken a trim clip that keeps the door handle connected to the door before the trim panel goes back on. This clip is held in place by a T25 screw. I've been to a Halfords and a local car parts shop and neither had the right clip. Can anyone let me know the type of clip?
  5. Interior Trim Clip - MK2

Thanks for the offer of help but I just shelled out for it from fordpartsuk. I've spent days trawling eBay but couldn't find any similar pics are a bit crap sorry
  6. Interior Trim Clip - MK2

    Wilto that looks beautiful
  8. MK2 Door Stay Catch

Quite sometime ago, a gust of wind blew my driver side door open and broke the tie strap. Can anyone answer the following: 1. Will a 5 door tie strap be OK on a 3 door? 2. What's involved in fitting ?
  9. MK2 Door Stay Catch

    Anyone? 😢
  10. Radio / sat nav ststem

You can keep an eye on the classified section here on the forum or look on eBay. Another alternative is the eonon head units.
  11. Parking Sensors on MK 2.5

Have you got a link to these?
  12. Hi, Roughly two months ago my sister was on in a minor RTC. Her car was looked at by a garage and needs some minor repair work. A couple of days later a nearly new hire car was dropped off and she was told the garage will call when they require her to drop her car off for repair. She's now been running around in a nearly new focus for roughly 2 months and is in no rush to get her 11 year old civic looked at by the garage. Can anyone shed any light on the possibility that she may incur some sort of bill for this? She's under the impression that neither she nor the neighbour that crashed into her will get a bill for this but I'm worried one of them might since she's not been forthcoming in approaching the garage to get her own car fixed.
  13. Long time hire car question

Thanks for the suggestions guys! She's finally getting her car repaired tomorrow 😃
  14. Which Wishbones - Mk2

Good evening troops! I need new wishbones for my 1.6 2006 mk2 zetec climate auto. The trouble is, I don't know if I need the 18mm or the 21mm. My reg is SH06 EKC. When I put it in Euro car parts it lists both the 18s and 21s! The only thing that's listed differently is the 21mm's say "with xenon" is that the only difference? I can't understand why xenon lights would require an extra 3mm thickness? Can anyone shed some light? Thanks in advance.
  15. That's awesome thanks!
  16. Have you got a link to this box? I've had a nosey on eBay but can't seem to see anything matching your description.
  17. Which Wishbones - Mk2

    Thanks for the help
  18. Focus Red & Black Editions

The red one doesn't look bad but the black one is awful. What will be the price difference over a normal car? I imagine it'll be cheaper to buy a normal car and wrap the roof yourself.
  19. Ids And Elmconfig Help Offer.

How do you program keys? I thought only ford could do that? Good offer for anyone local to you! You ever thought of relocating to the top of Scotland?
  20. Mk1.5 & Mk2 Auto Advice

As someone who has had 2 mk2's and a mk2.5 (all 1.6 petrol) I'd advise you don't getthe 1.6 petrol. They're gutless and fuel economy is dire. I'm currently looking for a mk2.5 2l tdi ;)
  21. Adding Push To Start To Facelift Focus

Completely off topic but... What engine do you have in your auto? I've had three petrol 1.6s and want to move to a 2.0 but I'm interested in the mpg. If you have a 2l could you let me know?
  22. Which Fuses? Mk2

Hi just a quick one. Power socket has gone on my 2006 mk2. What fuses do I need to get? I ordered a pack from eBay but they're too big
  23. Which Fuses? Mk2

Cheers! I've ordered some now so fingers crossed!
  24. Focus Mk2 Central Locking Issue

Have you tried to change the battery in your fob?
  25. Your Crashes

Cheers guys. I don't talk to him anymore. Nothing to do with the crash though, he never meant for that to happen. He took the Humph that he never got invited to my full wedding and at the stag was apparently saying if it wasn't for the crash money there'd be no wedding. 2 of my mates told me about this after he said he couldn't make it so I just gave up on him after that. He had a scratch about 4" on his leg and a lot of bruising. They accepted the first offer as if we had gone and gotten less the union would have to pay the insurance bill. If I wanted to continue myself I would have had to start the claim again which would involve the same 6 trips per year to Edinburgh per year to see they're 3 specialist's followed by my 3 specialist's and being followed by private investigators. That one really killed me! Seeing a DVD of me sitting in my garden whilst my daughter was playing made me so angry! I'd also have to start with a brand new solicitor and at the time I was suffering major depression and just gave up. Cheers for the good wishes folks
