  1. Hi You get this a lot in zetec engines when you slightly labour the engine a slight metal knocking noise, ford say its due to the oil for zetec engines is very thin part synthetic. test drove a 2012 with 19000 miles and did the same. if you power through the gears you wont get it.
  2. Hi All Pardon my ignorance is there a new Ford Focus Mk3.5 or is it only the ST Ford Focus that has the new type large grill? Like the Fiesta.
  3. Hi I used a tyre lever from a cycle puncture repair kit I brought from Tesco which has two plastic levers which are very useful for facia removal and repairing trim. I have removed the section around radio with the tyre lever and it was fine.
  4. DAB radio is still to take off, FM is still by far the best transmission standard in this country and DAB doesn't sound any better than FM. Radio stations can only make profit transmitting on FM that’s why the take up for DAB is so little.
  5. I was booked in for a free brake check; I asked them how they carried out the check without taking a wheel off their reply was we forgot, once they found an item they could charge for my safety brake check was not carried out. I did tell them it was losing brake fluid when they found the leak they said your brakes are fine as the clutch also uses the brake fluid and the car stops if you hit the brake pedal..
  6. Hi I got a local garage in Sheldon Birmingham to quote and do the work the total cost was £135, they completed it in 1.2 hour. Very please with the service. I have learnt my lesson from using these autocentre chains with there half price MOT and then they add headlight alignment never got away with a half price mot the total always comes to the original price or more... maybe in these hard times we should go local?
  7. Just been to a chain of Autocentres and being given a bill of £290 to change a clutch master cylinder, parts cost £70 and the rest is labour so £100 plus labour per hour (based on 2 hours). Having had three Ford Focus's for the past six years I have never had any repair’s or fault’s so I’m so out of touch with repair cost's, my only contact with garages is to have the service and mot. Is it me or does this seem very expensive.......
  8. Hi Me too always looking at different posts and thinking shall I do that to my Focus. Every time I spend money on my car I have to spend the same amount on the wife, I just need to get smarter.....
  9. Hi Yunus, Ashley It looks good in the picture, the titanium Mk2.5 is so nice. I can see what Ashley was saying in the earlier post with the cigarette lighter position, but my car is not laid out with the cigarette lighter next to the gear stick mine is tucked away as you can see from the picture, so still got no idea where to put it. If I can't find a good place to fit it so it looks like it was meant to be there, I won't fit it. Sorry car needs a clean..........................
  10. Hi Charlie Please find picture of head unit, I discussed the installation on someone else's post. It was a very easy plug and play installation and I installed the GPS inside the windscreen pillar. The GPS was a magnet type so no drilling.
  11. I use copper ease on the threads not 100% sure if this is correct but ever since I had a wheel I could not undo I have done this and they have not seized. See what other's say..
  12. Yeah I'll be watching this thread for a midlands/Birmingham meet up....
  13. Btw Thanks for taking the time lol
  14. I have no idea what you guys are talking about so many acronyms I'm going to declare myself out lol.
  15. Hi Lenny Excellent post, you can write tons of info but we all like a picture…. I thought the dashboard mod was very brave. I think you can get a lot of satisfaction from creating and mod-ing the car yourself. Me personally I like to by a lower spec car and then add the bits I like from other models, I suppose it’s like buying a new car and then choosing all the optional extras but at a fraction of the cost. Nice post
