  1. Things I Do Like

So...Popped into Halfords earlier - to pick up a roll of Minion gaffa tape :D (They were out of stock, but they did have pirate camo tape - so I'm swapping with a mate in Scunthorpe who wants that one :P) the checkout, a woman is trying to exchange a keyring - apparently, it fell apart as soon as she opened the packet...right outside of the rather than ya know, bring it straight back in - she threw it in the bin...and was disgruntled at not being allowed to exchange it. There are no prizes for guessing what marque the Richbrook keyring was indeed *that one* (she was in a 16 plate C* hideous metallic green)
  2. Things I Don't Like

I was shocked to pass my theory/HP first time. Hadn't passed a single practice test lol And I'm looking at doing it again - for cat D1. We're fundraising for many things at cadets, a minibus being one of them. But we would rather have the LWB Transit bus - which has a MAM of 4100kg, 600kg more than can be driven on a cat B (not for hire or reward).
  3. Car Conundrums!

Good answer - but not the part I had in mind lol
  4. Things I Don't Like

Even if I did, they'd still make me do it!! Only saving grace is the instructor is a mate (well, she's my District Officer, but also a mate lol)
  5. Things I Don't Like

Yay...I get to spend my weekend at Beckingham Army Camp, doing a pretty pointless course...because apparently I know nothing about the organisation...despite my previous service in a substansive rate...
  6. Where to hang air fresheners...

I usually hang them in the back - blueberry jelly one is my favourite. Currently, I have a Minion one on the rear view mirror. I did try one of the clip on air vent ones...but umm...I had an accident thanks to one lol
  7. Car Conundrums!

Correct, Your go Sean Crikey...I only wanted to get away with saying nipples Hmm...okay...lemme think... I am well trained to help you sit...what am I?
  8. Car Conundrums!

    Brake bleeding nipples?
  9. Fly Eyes?

The film can also damage the headlights.
  10. Things I Do Like

Had a boat returned yesterday (been away for a refurbishment and new engine) Of course, I just had to ensure that the work was of a good standard...which obviously meant a test run...or two...
  11. What Have You Learned Today??

I learned that sending 2 women with a "that'll have to do attitude" to purchase concrete is a bad idea... We need about 1.4m3 of concrete at cadets. This equates to almost 150 20kg bags of the stuff. At a total cost of over £1000. Rather than say "right, we'll have to leave it for now!" And asking those of us who have an inkling of sense, they bought 20 bags...saying that we'd have to make do!! Still cost over £100!! Even with a cheekily asked for discount... Made a few calls this morning and I now have said 1.4m3 of concrete en route - for the princely sum of £180+ VAT. The quick minded folk will realise that even with VAT, that's a 5th of the bagged option!!
  12. Odd one

Emergency candle - fish it out, light it and it'll stay lit for days :P
  13. Things I Do Like

I like how the Euro Car Parts website reckons that it takes 42 minutes to change a Focus battery...the guy that wrote that must have one seriously disappointed missus!! Exactly 10 minutes from taking the battery cover off to putting it back on lol
  14. Things I Don't Like

I think it is because it's a bit awkward removing the battery from the box lol The wipers were Aero Twins and forever smeared, squeaked and clunked on the downward stroke.
  15. Things I Don't Like

My last set of wipers were Bosch - didn't rate them at all!! Prefer Ford (which I presume to be Valeo?) I'll wander up to ECP in the morning and grab a new battery - only a couple of minutes walk away. I am slightly bemused by the fact they reckon it'll take 40-odd minutes for a battery change. To make it last that long, I'd have to have 2 tea breaks, a poo and my lunch!! (Not strictly in that order)
