  1. The R747 is my favourite road in the entire country and i know it like the back of my hand mate, Take the N11 down to Arklow the R747 goes out top of arklow through forestry area two hair pins one chicane on to woodenbridge then through tinahealy on to hacketstown and then baltinglass which will then take you to blessington then back on M50 at Tallaght. Better to go from tallaght down but best but is between tinahealy and arklow town. Driving my focus home today I was goin like: I totally agree with you man. I been on it before with the Focus and can't waut to go back there with the scooby. Even at slow speeds it's a joy to drive.
  2. Very clean install. How's the sound so far?
  3. Thanks. I got very lucky as it was the only one on sale in Ireland at the moment and it was completely stock unlike most others. In Ireland they are difficult to insure and a lot of them have been shipped to the Uk. Well worth driving one :)
  4. As much as I would love to own an M3, with the tax of over €1000/year here makes it unrealistic for myself to justify that. The Audis are fun and my long term plan is to work towards owning an S4 estate with the 3L supercharged engine.
  5. I actually agree after trying it out in 20 degree head lol Thanks man. I am definitely enjoying it as I been out twice for runs into the Wicklow mountains over the weekend. It does make going to the shop for milk that little bit more fun :)
  6. Thanks Lenny. The plan is to think about the colour of the wheels for a bit and decide whether Anthracite/Gun metal grey would suit it better. It is already loud with the Prodrive exhaust and the gold wheels just adds to the craziness a bit lol
  7. The drive home made me grin from ear to ear. I even turned the stereo off for most part of the journey. It is an impressive machine with very useable power and oh the fun when hitting boost! Car is very comfortable and quieter on motorways than the Focus was and this is it in stock form. Leather seats, bucket front seats that are heated, sunroof, Corners like nothing I been before and grips even with tyres that are quite worn. I could go on and on. Downsides are that the door cards will need replacing as one of the owners along the lines cut the door cards to fit Fli aftermarket speakers! It's really bugging me and I am on the lookout to get them changed stat. Other than a K&N air filter to drop in, I don't plan on doing any mods to this one. I will of course be fitting my own sound system into it with a subwoofer ;) Not saying going as I am still going to be around on the forums, but a bit less :)
  8. It was quite a sad and also exciting day last Friday. In the morning, the guy came over to pick up my old Focus and give me the money. I then trekked it by bus to Galway and there picked up my shiny new to me motor. 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX estate in black with Gold STI alloys.
  9. Focus sold this morning and new owner came to pick it up. Now travelling to Galway to get the new car. No, it's not a Mk3 Focus. Hint: it's not a Ford either ;)
  10. This afternoon after about 3hr of work, the car sound system is back to stock configuration. The guy is coming tomorrow morning to do the paperwork and pick her up. Part of me is sad to see her go but the other part knows it's the right time to move on. In the afternoon travelling to Galway to get my new to me car! Should be home in the evening and might put some pictures up then :)
  11. That's cool that they did the reverse process and you got the boom mats :) I started doing the reverse today. Managed just to get the rear door speakers back hooked up to the stock wires as I was running them on the amp. Fairly straight forward process. Tomorrow, I will get my Focal speakers out of the fronts to be replaced by Vibe 6 Slick component speakers that I had before. Time allowing, and weather permitting as this is Ireland after all, I will also get the subwoofer, amps and wiring out of the car then. The last thing to go out will be the headunit as I need the car working till Friday.
  12. I actually haven't taken out the sound equipment and hoping to get it all off during the week. All the standard equipment should go back in and speakers will be replaced with Vibe aftermarket ones in the front as I hacked away the stock Fords. Not really looking forward to doing the reverse process to be honest but it needs to be done. What car you getting btw?
  13. Thanks for the kind words Lenny. It's after a long debate with myself that I decided to sell the car, very reluctantly. I am driving a lot less than before, less than 150km/week as compared to 1500km/week now since I moved jobs to Wicklow. The mileage on the car is quite high compared to others on sale here and for that reason as well, I priced it keenly. Got pictures taken the other day after a good wash and put it up on Done Deal. All going well, by the end of this coming week I should have the replacement car. It's something older, petrol and very fast ;)
  14. Update: Sadly car is now for sale. It was a joy to own but time to move on to a different car now as I am driving a lot less.
  15. Agreed. This is the first online retailer that had no issues shipping a battery and it was very well packaged as well. Fitted it today within 25min or so as I had to Youtube how to change it for her car specifically. All good and no issues to be reported :)
