  1. Thanks for the info Wilco, so it looks like I've been sold a dodgy SD card and will have to get a refund. The new SD card does have "Ford MFD 2016" on it but there is no "V" version number. I think my original SD card is V4.1. I looked at the files on each SD card and both seem to have the same folders and files, but maybe this card I bought is just not valid for UK Fiestas or is a fake.
  2. Does anyone know if this Sync update is required for updated satnav maps to work? I bought an updated satnav SD card from eBay (which is supposed to support Fiesta 2013 onwards) but I just get an error message when I put it in.
  3. Got the new SD card, tried it in the car and I just get "Data error, Check SD card" Does anyone know if this means I've been sold a faulty / invalid SD card or do I need to update the Sync software to support it? (and how would I do that?) It clearly states on the ebay listing that this SD card supports the Fiesta from 2013 onwards, and nothing about any other requirements, so if it's genuine then it should work.
  4. I'm still waiting for my new map SD card, but it's coming from Poland so might have to wait a while :( Even thought my maps are currently about 3 years out of date, the satnav still works surprisingly well. Live traffic always works and seems pretty accurate, telling me how fast the traffic is moving. I think as long as the roads you're driving on haven't changed since the map was updated, it gets live traffic data for those roads.
  5. I looked at the photos of the packaging to see which cars it was compatible with e.g. Fiesta from 2013. Mine is just Sync 1 though so the SD card I bought would probably not work in your Mondeo (assuming it's Sync 2).
  6. I've had a Shell card for a while and only ever put V-Power in the ST, so get a fair few points. The vouchers are nice, except when you get one for a 1 litre bottle of water which they don't sell
  7. I've been getting this a lot recently. Yesterday got to some traffic lights which went green just as I got there, so went straight through. A BMW driver must have thought I was trying to race him just because my car doing 20 mph was going faster than his doing 0 mph, so he appeared on my bumper just as I was indicating to move over and let him through (I had got to 40 but he/she obviously didn't care for the speed limit). Then he suddenly undertook me, and it was a good thing I double checked what he was doing or he would have caused a serious accident.
  8. I finally ordered one of these map updates from eBay, was £61. It's a ripoff compared to tomtom but I bet Ford would charge more than double that. I'll post again when I know if it works.
  9. Got my tickets . We're on the B22 stand, the one that's actually part of the track. Some of us are camping the night before so will probably be on the stand early if help is needed with organising. 3rd year at Ford Fair for the ST, this was it last weekend after a polish and wax:
  10. Nice one :). Will you be bringing it to Ford Fair if you have it in time, although you won't be able to get on the club stand?
  11. ^ Yeah only a week and a bit til Ford Fair haha.
  12. That's good to hear :). What car are you getting?
  13. I just found out that CrystalVision bulbs are now available with the E1 marking which means they are road legal, which was not the case until recently. I'm already using these bulbs and just bought a spare pair from here: 4300 K-12972CVUSM-E1 tested/dp/B01FJW6RR8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1469720515&sr=8-2&keywords=philips+crystal+vision+h7 I was not sure if they were advertising it incorrectly because there is nothing on the packaging which shows that the bulbs are road legal, but sure enough there is an E1 marking under the bulbs. The older CrystalVisions had a marking which says "Not for use in EU / USA". I'm tempted to swap these new ones in to make sure I'm fully road legal, or at least check if the bulbs I bought last year already had the E1 marking. More info on bulb markings here: Edit: Don't go buying these just yet because it looks like Philips might be cheating a bit here. The blue tinting on these new bulbs is a lot weaker than the older bulbs, and they have removed the "4300K" from the description on the packaging. I suspect the colour temperature is a lot lower which makes sense because that would allow for a higher light output, and that's probably why they are road legal and the older CrystalVisions are not. I'll swap out one of these at some point and compare to the older bulbs to see if I'm right about the colour temperature. Another edit: more info here: Apparently halogen bulbs over 4200K are not road legal, so it's not just how they are tested that affects this. Or maybe that's part of the test; if the colour temp is over 4200K that's a fail (obviously not the case for HIDs).
  14. Yeah I had a Focus following me the other day with the badge flipped over, had to stop myself looking in the mirror cos it's so annoying haha.
