  1. So at a routine tyre change last week, the guy told me that my bottom ball joints (both) on the front end have worn and will need replacing soon. I have only had the car a short while and I'm not exactly the most mechanically minded guy in the world... Just wondering if anyone has any idea on approx costs involved in getting this work done, before I take it in and end up getting fleeced that is... The guy said he doesn't do it himself but I'd probably be looking around £100 for both of them replaced. Does this sound like a realistic cost to you or is this guy way off? Thanks.
  2. Mk1 Focus Speedo Issue

Firstly, Hi all. To be perfectly honest I only joined as I have a speedo issue on my 2000 MK1 Focus that I'm seeking a little advice on, but turns out I'm already pretty hooked on this site! Blessing in disguise and all that... Yesterday, whilst doing about 55-60mph, the speedo suddenly dropped to 0 for about 5-10 seconds and then jumped back up to the speed I was doing again. I didn't lose any power or performance at all and nothing else failed, all the other dials, fuel, temp, revs etc stayed perfectly fine. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks.
