  1. Back to flashing! About the only motorists I flash are other trucks as they 'generally' know the rules
  2. Ha ha! That's the one I used to translate it! :)
  3. Am I reading this right? They're going to INCREASE the rate for small, energy efficient cars and DECREASE the rates for bigger 'gas-guzzling' cars?!!! Won't that remove a major incentive for buying a small car and also remove the disincentive for buying a bigger car? Madness!!! You couldn't make it up!
  4. Don't your local council supply bags? We can get bags FOC from local vets, pet shops and council offices.
  5. Waiting for the beginning of next month to tax it?
  6. Yes, I know it's not legal, and it is dangerous/reckless BUT I did have a wee chuckle at this video I'm sure a lot of us have felt like doing the same! https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/cyclists-blast-idiot-driver-who-8784789.amp
  7. Cheers all. Looks like a trip to the local motor factors this week then. Quick query regarding the stereo. Don't think it does but does the stereo have a code? It's one a bit like this one.
  8. Cheers Tom..........again! Currently the Focus is in my name with Mrs Turvey as a named driver, I'll keep it like that, I assume I can just do the same with the new car as well?
  9. Cheers Tom, thinking about it, it could quite easily be the battery right enough! A/C on the whole time as well won't be doing it any favours. I'll maybe give it a charge and see if that makes a difference.
  10. Next Thursday we're picking up a new to us second car. Now, this is the first time we've been in the position to have 2 cars and we're not sure what the best thing to do regarding insurance. Do you insure the second car on it's own or do you go back to the original insurer and add another car to it? Or any other method of doing it?
  11. As per title. Daughter's 58 plate 1.4 diesel Fiesta has recently become a bit sluggish to start even with waiting for heating plug light to go out and repeating. I'm no diesel expert(petrol engines I kinda understand but diesel is black magic!) so I'm guessing heater plugs are on the way out? She doesn't do a lot of miles, mainly back and forth to work(2 miles) with the occasional 15 mile run out in the country. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
  12. They're not as intelligent as you think Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts. However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car. MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviorist very quickly concluded the cause: when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. The scientific conclusion was that while all the lookout crows could say "Cah", none could say "Truck." I'll get me coat!
  13. Tesco, Co-op and Lidl all within a couple of hundred yards of each other are the only supermarkets here. We use all 3 for different stuff but mainly Lidl as our daughter works there and gets a staff discount
  14. Paint it whatever colour you want! Even pink if you want! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3411317/Amber-Rose-showcases-hourglass-figure-waist-trainer-arrives-workout-pink-Ferrari.html But Ferrari won't supply you with one......allegedly. http://www.executivestyle.com.au/why-pink-ferraris-are-officially-off-limits-1mdj0v
  15. It's a bit 'Old School' but Welcome To The Pleasure Dome is a cracking driving album!
