  1. Hi Mike, Siw here. I have the same problem so could you do me a little favour an let me know roughly how much was the release motor please. Every time I went onto the site you mention an type in release motor in various forms it won't find one. If you could let me know it would be most helpful.
  2. Hi all. Mine usually takes two goes to shut it. OK its not as heavy a boot lid as my dad's saab.....shushh but his is different and heavier.but I am still having the unlocking problem though. I will have to try and take the boot lid apart tomorrow.... Yours Dragon Siw.
  3. Hi there all. My Fusion has just today done the very same thing. It was ok when I went out this morning, but, by the time I came back. Not only can I not get into the boot with the master key. It won't let me in via the dash board push button mechanism. I know this may sound a little silly, but, I didn't know that the boot release would have its own fuse ? Yours as always Dragon Siw.
  4. This is very similar to my Fusion. Mine though does turm off,but comes back very soon afterwards and remains on but dim. If you come across a solution please let me know because I'm fed up with it. Regards Siw
  5. The only other sensible idea to this is to run in a zig zag fashion ! Now that IS advice from military personel...........Though the ideas in the artical are good in themselves. I fill up several times a month and see so many men as well as women who leave children and goods on show in open cars on fore courts all the time. Just as though they they are being used as guard dogs. Take care out there as always Siw.........
  6. Well at least its got you people talking tonight instead of being ...............quiet ( polite )....Do what you will I don't give ..........
  7. Hi there Willy I always do that- locked at all times - but some don't ......... Siw.
  8. This is from a good friend tonight so I thought to pass it on so we all are aware especially as its getting closer to Christmas etc. POLICE INFORMATION The first bit is mainly for women, but gents , please read it and send it on to any women you care about. The second bit is a warning to all of us! Some sound advice for us all, as we all sometimes forget to take our commonsense with us when we go out. This is from Northants Police Women..... Please read, and pass on. An important message from the Police - please pass this along to all the women you know..... This actually happened a few weeks ago on the M3 FLEET SERVICES!!! It was early evening, and a young girl stopped to get petrol. She filled her tank and walked into the store to pay for her petrol. The cashier told her, 'Don't pay for your petrol yet......walk around the store for a while, and act as if you're picking up some other things to buy. A man just got into the back of your car. I've called the police, and they're on their way'. When the police arrived, they found the man in the back seat of the girl's car and asked him what he was doing. He replied, he was joining a gang, and the initiation to join is to kidnap a woman and bring her back to the gang to be raped by every member of the gang. If the woman was still alive by the time they finish with her then they let her go. According to the police that night, there is a new gang forming here, originating from London . The scary part of this is, because the guy didn't have a weapon on him, the police could only charge him with trespassing.... He's back on the street and free to try again. Something similar to this happened at the Tesco garage on Cardiff Road in Newport recently, but luckily the cashier saw the man get into her car. Please be aware of what's going on around you, and warn your family and friends. LADIES, you or one of your family or friends could be the next victim. Please forward this on to everyone you know. Please do not discard this message; it is very important that everyone knows what is happening. Please be careful when leaving your vehicle, and make sure it is ALWAYS LOCKED to prevent this from happening to you. MET POLICE In light of the recent kidnapping and now murder of Leigh Mathews, I think it is important to read the following info for your own safety. Things women should know to stay safe: Please take the time to read these pointers. There may be just one or two you hadn't thought of. After reading this, forward it to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in. 1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do! 2. if a robber asks for your handbag, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you..... He is probably more interested in your handbag than you, and he will go for the handbag. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! 3. if you are ever thrown into the boot of a car: Kick out the back tail lights, and stick your arm through the hole and start waving. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives. 4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc, and just sit (doing their cheque book, or making a list). DON'T DO THIS! A predator could be watching you and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, and attack you. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE. 5. A few notes about getting into your car in car park: a) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, look at the passenger side floor, and check the back seat. b) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most attacker’s surprise their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. c) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the shop, or work, and get guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.) 6. ALWAYS take the lift instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone, and the perfect crime spot. 7. if the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT BE A VITAL ORGAN 8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women, He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. 9. Another safety point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her, 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way. Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes, thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls from women saying that they hear babies' cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. Send this to any woman you know who may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it, and it's better safe than sorry. TO ALL CAR OWNERS AND CAR DRIVERS: PLEASE READ Warning!!!! Be aware of new car-jacking scheme ..You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift or put into reverse. You look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space, and you notice apiece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift the gear stick back into park or neutral, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper, or whatever it is that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and takeoff!! Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car, and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN LONDON , MANCHESTER , AND MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!! Just drive away, and remove the paper later! It is stuck to your window, and be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE you keys! JUST BE AWARE AND TAKE CARE -- IT WILL PROBABLY SOON ARRIVE IN YOUR AREA....
  9. P.S. I am still having the problem with glowing lights on my consul when the car is left and locked up if you have any ideas on this aswell.? Thankyou again, Siw.
  10. Thanks for this Bruce, It does sound a logical thing. I have never taken off the panel you mention before. I've had two Fiestas and this is my first Fusion. It never happened with those, only on my Fusion. So as you can expect it was a little off putting ttrying to do a speed on the motorway and for this to happen. Getting some lube from out of my garage is no problem. Just where to put it ! I was the first lady to aquire my City & Guilds as a motorcycle mechanic in 1984.For that, unlike for cars or trucks, I had to do everything including MOT's and setting up sidecar chasis. As well as engine and frame work. So I am a little mechanically minded, just not for cars.... Failing whatever folk say the Fusion is a great battle bus and a lot better ride than either of my Fiestas were. Thanks and best wishes, Siw.
  11. Thanks for your replys, This will give me something to think about. Any interruption sounds bad and not something I want before christmas etc. Any ideas of the cost ? Also the schemat picture is useful as its hard to find any in books etc. Of all the Hayne manuals I've had in the past they don't do one for the Fusion. Or at least I've not found one yet. Dragon Siw.
  12. Hi Folks Dragon Siw here and I've a problem. Can anyone help me ? I took the family up the M62 today to Bradford to the Dr.Who exhibition at The National Media Museum. Ok, it was a little windy and occasionally it rained, Thankfully not too much.~ The problem.~ We were driving along with the windscreen wipers on the normal setting when suddenly there was a loud bang ! It was a little frightening to say the least. You see, as my daughter said; it looked like they had stuck.in the rest position,When they realised they were suposed to be still working they caught up by slapping themselves hard on the glass ! and then contiued normally. Again some miles along the motorway they did it again. Unfortunately they did it twicw going and twice back. So I used them manually. Hence we were glad that it didn't rain too much. Needless to say it frightened the living daylights out of my passengers. Doe anyone know or has had this problem??? Is it the motor ?? I don't know and with the winter coming.hmmmm .. My Fiesta never did this...Any help would be very much appreciated . A damsel in distress , Dragon Siw.
  13. Hi there ! I would choose diesel over petrol with a third more miles to the gallon overnthe similar petrol unit.! It does sound like you have a Friday car. Take it back and go straight to head office, Take no prisoners as they say. Fords are in general brilliant cars but.... You see Ive got a Fusion which I bought at three years old after being ex-mobility. Yes we have problems still with the dash lights lighting up after the whole thing is locked down. But we have found out that dealers in general really well........... some are good but the red tape that is involved makes it ni on impossible to get problems sorted with ours. So what I'm trying to say is go to the top and if necessary have them get you another car- its too young to be warranting all these problems and worries. Which most are major if you found yourself on a motorway etc with children or grandchildren on board. DO IT ! before its too late as they Will drag their feet, trust me. All the best and let us all know what happens. Dragon Siw, 2 Fiestas and 1 Fusion. ~ and guess what folks the Fusion is a better ride holding the road so much better than both of my Fiestas ever did. PS. the first thing I ever drove is a short wheel base Transit when I was 14 on private grounds....
  14. Hi out there it Dragon Siw here, Can anyone help me even though this is possibly part of another problem in progress. So please bear with me. Has anyone had their radios stop working. For me its like A/ you can't change volume.B/change radio channel,CD.to radio or back in either direction.D/none of the functions for the clock will work either.! Now I am aware that in some models the 600 CD range can get hot in normal use but this is happening when it wants to and in hot weather. TBH its silly it can get so hot. The last time it stopped working it was only on RockXS for 2 weeks with no other choices. Fortunately its working for now again until it has a hissy fit again.Of course at this time you can't removed any ' stuck ' CD from the maching either.! According to some at certain Ford dealerships is the reason why the dash lights glow as though they are on when Everything is shut down, locked and off ! Any ideas would be gratefully accepted ............ Dragon Siw.
  15. Hi again, The first thing we tried was to find a code, trying all the usual types with daughter's mobile and they do't work. As to manufacturers ? I don't know what type it is except that it is a cream thing mounted on the right side of my strutt at the top of my front windscreen,! That matches the interior colour. I am trying to get a handbook but as I mentioned I bought it 2nd hand and the dealer is being ?? I haven't yet got one for the car. Never mind the blue tooth unit itself.....I have no chance as I see it. If I knew how it was attatched I would take it out myself, but, the dealership is supposed to be sorting it out for me. Yes you guessed it.... still waiting ! The wire from it goes into the interior facia type cover and I don't know where it exits.....Any ideas? Yours ,,,,,,, with loads of thanks. Dragon Siw.
