  1. Fx Satnav (Non Touch Screen) 2009

Thanks JW1982 for the TSB, I visited my local Ford dealer about three weeks ago, showing him the (TSB 26/2013 fault), He only recognised the fault after i provided the info you posted. He placed an order for replacement Satnav but today he telephoned me to say he couldn't offer an replacement or help as this fault is only covered in Germany/France/Austria or England. Its written on the bottom of the TSB. Can you tell me if this is right? As i'm based in Ireland my Ford dealer don't recognise the fault. He offered to order a new Satnav if i wished for and small price of 1250 Euro!!! So the Satnav has a recognised fault by Ford or Blaupunt and can be repaired or replaced if living in most places of Europe but not in Ireland? Any idea's on the subject. What about Ford Europe? Do you know address or contact if want to step up the problem above to my local dealer? Help Paul
  2. Fx Satnav (Non Touch Screen) 2009

Hi Colin, i replaced the aerial at the back of the sat nav with a new ford aerial which has two wires built into one which didn't fix the problem! If you press the info key next to the Home key on the front of the satnav it should show how many satelites its tracking, if it shows none then the aerial is indeed faulty. I ordered this Antenna GPS active connection Fakra or type gps antenna fakra satnav for audi mmi dvd and connected it to the connector at the back of the satnav head next to the aerial connector. Hope this helps. Anyhow for some reason, today my satnav/radio head unit won't powerup. I've changed all the fuses and the one at the back of the unit and still nothing. ANyone able to advise me? Thanks in advance Paul
  3. Focus Alloy Colors

Anyone know what's the paint code for these alloys so i can touch them up? Thanks in advance Paul
  4. Unbelieveable, I changed the grill and removed the two headlights to clean this morning and then had realised i couldn't open the bonnet so i couldn't drive the car with the two headlights missing. Anyhow, I have just tried to open bonnet with your advice (in the dark) and after 5 minutes you saved my bacon, as the missus wasn't looking forward to walking! Thankyou, Brill job
  5. Egr Blanking Ford Focus

Hi all, I recently fitted a blanking plate to my 2009 1.6tdci 109bhp, and i had to remove plate as its showing up P042f code(blocked EGR). Now the light comes on dailey after a couple of miles so i have to remove with a D900 reader. I did clean the EGR after taking of for the third time to check for sticking but is not blocked or sticking. So what do i do now to keep the light off? Help?
  6. P042F

Hi phil, thanks for reply. I did remove the EGR valve and clean it by hand and with a toothbrush by spraying in the egr cleaner to the two openings. To be honest, on turning the valve by hand it wasn't stuck or full of crap or jammed up so i'm at a loss as to why the code keeps showing up? Just after putting in 325ml of DPF cleaner into tank to help clear any soot build up so maybe this may help bring up mpg. At the moment i'm getting average of 45mpg since buying the car last year. The best average i got was 47.5 but that will always drop when i tow my caravan. Is my average mpg good or bad? I bought my car as an import from England as an ex fleet car with motorway miles so would assume the car would do with being driven hard to help clear the filters. Anyone with advice? Paul
  7. P042F

Will cleaning out the dpf with the like of Wynn's Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner not help or are these products a waste of time? And would it help clear the code? I was thinking of changing my car next year so not worried about major service, but my problem, if I was to keep the car would be while I live in Ireland, there's not too many people able to physically delete DPF/EGR and through the ECU! I had tried to get the car remapped a couple of months back but the company couldn't do the car as they said it had a newer type 3 ECU. I bought the blanking plate for lower torque and also CR tuning box to help low end power as i sometime pull a caravan and now i've had to remove the plate and haven't fitted the box as the connectors hard to find at the back of the engine. Thanks for your quick reply and advice. Paul
  8. P042F

Hi all, this my first post so hello to everyone, So i fitted a blanking EGR plate to my 09 Focus 1.6tdci 109bhp with 65,000 miles and the engine light came on showing (P042F Blocked or stuck EGR Valve) and the car lost power so i removed the plate and bought a D900 OBD reader to reset the codes. The engine light came on again after 3 or 4 miles so i removed the egr valve, and cleaned with Wynns egr cleaner then refitted and remove the engine code again. Anyhow the same P042f code keeps returning after after 4 or 5 miles. Any ideas or help would be grateful? Paul
  9. Fx Satnav (Non Touch Screen) 2009

Was the satnav code not in the owners booklet stored in the little ford plastic holding case? Not sure how many different variations of code but mine is 0851
  10. Fx Satnav (Non Touch Screen) 2009

Thanks for reply, I removed sat nav and traced the blue Fakra connector, it goes past back of clocks and up to another connector behind the drivers pillar, then upto the inside light were its connected to the aerial base. I did a continuity test from rear of satnav to pillar connector showing ok so thinking now maybe there could be a fault from the connector behind the pillar to the base which screws into the aerial antenna base? Also there seemed to be alot of white powder/dust around all connectors? Is this something to worry about? Thanks again for reply Paul
  11. Hi all, This is my first post so bear with me please! My Zetec tdci with built in sat nav won't work but he radio works fine, when i select Nav from the menu it says "Your direction is not on a digitised map", and if i check the information button on the right it shows no GPS so i think its not picking up a signal?. I've replaced the antenna on the roof because i heard these can become faulty through water ingress and checked the cables at the back but to no avail? My local Ford dealer said if there was a problem he would just send away the whole satnav for testing as they wouldn't know how to test it. Can anyone help. Just one more thing, going into the SatNav at the back there's a black main connector with maybe 20 wires, a blue aerial plug and another black wire with a blue plug that fits beside the aerial with a sticker(C1791 4M5T-18812-LB), would anyone know what the wire with the sticker is for? Thanks in advance Paul
