  1. has anyone gone down the route of getting the parts from ebay ? seams to be a few dmf,s listed for a 2003 mondeo

  3. i have had to change three cats on focus 1.8 tdci due to it breaking up inside,over time it vibrates and eventualy you are left with what looks like a tennis ball size chunk ! this then blocks the exhaust causing the lack of power. it can somtimes vibrate free again if the car goes over a bump. the early signs are a vibration rattle sound coming from under the car on tickover. its worth checking out by removing the cat,it may not be the fault you have ,but the first one we came across at the dealers took some time to work out.
  4. clutch release bearing maybe ? if its worn and vibrating on the clutch pressure plate it could cause the noise, when you press the clutch down the load on the bearing may then cause the noise to go.
  5. Mechanic :) Did 14 years at Ford main dealer working on HGV , Light commercial and cars. now work for Ambulance service fleet department ,last ten years fixing all sorts of stuff.

Hi all my name is pete and i got myself a 11 plate fiesta 1.6tdci last week ,!Removed! love it. i have had two other fords a fiesta 1.3 lx in 1992 and a focus 1.8 tdi zetec that i had for ten years and it never let me down,was sad to see it go. looking forward to useing the forum cheers pete :)
