  1. Im thinking about putting some dynamat down in my mk6 fiesta as road noise is really irritating me. Doing the doors and boot will be easy enough, but doing the floor is daunting. Is it simple to do, and how do I remove the seats?
  2. Ok so at least no damage will be done, but why only correct one speaker?
  3. Thank you, I have run speaker wire from the amp to the back of the head unit and have cut the wires you mentioned, however I have a slight problem. The speaker wire I have is gray, for some reason positive and negative arent marked at all so I have no way of knowing which is which. If I wire them the wrong way will any problems occur and if not is it easy to tell if they are wiring right or wrong?
  4. Ok when I said splice all I meant was cut the head unit speaker wires and tape the amps speaker wires instead :) I dont have a manual for my head unit, i'll have a look for one online. There's no way I have the patience or time to do that, and its not even necessary when I can just wiring into the factory cables.
  5. My fiesta has 4 factory speakers but I want to leave the rears powered by the head unit and have the fronts (which will soon be Hertz 6.5" speakers) powered by an amp. Now, I know you have to splice into the loom of the head unit, but how do I know which cables to splice? I have a Kenwood head unit and I know you have to splice into the head unit cables not the car factory cables, but how do I know which cables are for the front speakers?
  6. I'd change the headlights to the facelift style if possible, though thats just because I not a fan of the standard style lights :)
  7. I have a 2006 Fiesta Zetec S and I recently bought some autoleads speaker adapters so I could fit some 6.5" speakers in the front, however today when I tried to install them I found the adapters werent right, slightly too large and the holes didnt line up. The model I bought is SAK-1513, these ones in particular: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1439.l2649 It says they should fit my car but they dont? I found some others which are for Fiesta 2002- that look a little different, are these ones correct? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item27dec14543
  8. Cheers guys, to be honest I would rather drill a fresh hole rather than sticking a screwdriver near the factory wiring, it could easily get damaged so dont want to risk it. I bought a rubber gromit from a local shop which fits the wire perfectly so i'll drill a hole and get someone to spot on the other side when im doing it.
  9. I'm trying to get the power wire for my amp through the firewall but I just cant see how it can be done without drilling a new hole, the factory gromits are stuffed tight with wires. Can it be done or will I need to make a hole?
  10. I was reading about caps, some people saying they dont really help at all? Besides I can only see caps that are rated at 1.0 farad not 0.5. I guess I could setup the gear then if I have dimming light problems install a cap?
  11. Im wanting to upgrade the audio of my 2006 Fiesta Zetec S. I have picked out the parts I want: Speakers: http://caraudiosecurity.com/ecx165-3-2-way-16-5cm-speakers Amp: http://caraudiosecurity.com/gto-1004e-amplifier Sub: http://caraudiosecurity.com/sb25a1-10-sub-with-enclosure Now my question, with this setup is my alternator going to be able to supply enough power? I have read that my headlights could dim if the system is too powerful?
  12. I have a 3 door Fiesta 2006 Zetec S, however the door mould on the drivers side (the column) was loose and snapped whilst driving down the motorway! So I have a replacement but im not sure how to remove the old clips + there is still a piece of the old mould still attached, how do I go about getting it off?
  13. Well I had to take it to the ford dealer as it just wasnt coming out. They did it, though with difficulty im told. Apparantly the pins had been bent which is why it wouldn't release. They only charged me £10 so im glad I didnt go back to halfords which would have cost £30 - £60. The sound quality difference with the kenwood unit is very noticable, mucher punchier and dynamic. Im now just wondering whether to upgrade the speakers or not..
  14. Bump?
  15. I was trying that actually (its what the Halfords guy suggested) but no luck. If I could get my hand around the other side I might have more luck. BTW now I think about it, if I do manage to get the damn thing out does anyone know where I can get one of the triangle shaped brackets that screws to the back of aftermarket head units? (I assume i'll need one for this car)
