  1. I was told that it was badly corroded and there was water ingress in the roof. Ive had a check with an inspection mirror and Maglite, no sign of anything, but there is a small amount of corrosion on that side of the board.
  2. Just put a post up on the dealer issues section, further to that though I need some help. I have removed the dome light and black circuit board inside. There does appear to be a little corrosion on where the 6 pins enter the board and there were 3-4 small spots on the back as shown. What is the best way to clean it up? Is it worth trying and are they easy/cheap to replace?
  3. I purchased my 11 reg focus zetec almost 2 years ago and had not a peep of trouble out of it whilst in my hands. Twice it has been left in the hands of Ford for a full service and MOT. Both times it has come out in worse condition or with faults that i'm not happy with. Its passed its first MOT easily last year (only new wiper blades needed) when I got it back the temp gauge read -40 and was told "its ok, just run it a while. It'll be fine" I took them at their word and fair enough after a couple of miles it started reading correctly. On the way home, the start/stop wouldn't work and it hasn't since. This year they managed to lose my locking wheel nut and tried to say I'd lost it. I mentioned the stop/start and no attempt was made to fix it. They locked the keys in my car and had to be driven home for the spare key. It was mentioned the car smelt of damp (it didn't) and there was a short causing an electrical fault. When I got it back the dome light was stuck on. NONE of these issues were present when I left it with them. The car was with them from 10:30 until 17:00 and by this time I was pretty fed up. No courtesy car was offered and no apology was made. I have since had lights randomly come on and off, engine warnings appear and have just taken it in again. They now want 95 quid to replace the dome light which is causing the problem apparently- including the engine warning on the screen!?! They have been told I'm not paying them a penny and since that, they have not been interested.
  4. cool, I'll check out the cables costs. Thank you
  5. How hard would it be to move or reroute the usb and socket from the glovebox into the center armrest? Is it a matter of pulling out the glovebox, tucking in the cables and dremelling a hole? Has it been done before in a mk3?
  6. Battery checked and is fine. When I first went exploring through the screen options, it showed ecomode with a box which I ticked (just like turning traction control on/off etc). At the dealer, nothing was mentioned about an ECU update, just had a second key coded and the battery replaced in my main fob, that's all I took it in for. The green A with a circle light up on ignition as normal, but nothing is happening. I'll give them a call and see if they have tinkered with anything, the car was in their possession for 1hr 40 mins, so they couldn't have done too much.
  7. Well I know I turned it on when I first got it from the drivers screen, navigating from fuel consumption to the eco screen let me turn it on. The eco now screen just gives me advice and my driving 'scores' and no options. I was wondering if it was never activated and turning it on is a one shot deal that should be done when its new. Going to try turning on and off the air con dials, not sure if voice commands have been used and maybe that caused it. By the way my scores are - gear changes 1/5 Anticipation 4/5 speed 4/5 Time to get to grips with the gearbox I think.
  8. Thanks for the advice folks. I just had another key coded and had the battery changed in my fob, the dealer seems to have disabled the stop/start feature which is annoying. When I first got the car, I had to go through the menu to turn it on. If I recall I took the menu branch from the fuel consumption and turned it on, now the option isn't there. I'm now stuck with no start stop feature. The button on the lower centre console doesn't help. Not sure what to do.
  9. I don't have a sensitive throttle as such, I either pull away very very slowly or occasionally get a quick start. Its just a matter of getting used to the car.
  10. Actually kangaroo'd for the first time today. Pulling away in first gear seems to be different each time and is taking some getting used to. Only had my car for 6 days.
  11. Using Navfree on my iphone too, maybe using the cable might work. The contract is up so i'll see what the S4 can do.
  12. Hello all. This is the first ford I've owned since my embarrassing Sierra sapphire 1.8 with a bunch of cosworth parts added. I wanted the 1.6 tdci to save on running costs, but couldn't stretch the budget to the satnav version though. One issue I was wondering over, was actually audio related. I'm using my iphone with bluetooth to play my music and sat nav directions. Is it possible to have constant audio from a source such as cd and have any necessary satnav directions cut in, such as with traffic reports. My phone can't handle it, was hoping the car could? Not had the time to look into footwell lights yet, looking at some threads and checking out if its feasible on my car.
