  1. Recently purchased a 2005 StreetKA - only 1 key. In 34 years of driving I have never lost a car key but you can imagine what might happen if I had only the one key - so set about trying to find a new one at a competitive price. H Harrold in Sheffield provided a new key with transponder all programmed into the car for £90. It took 20 minutes. Friendly service and I would highly recommend them. Give them a call before you go as they prefer you to make an appointment to ensure the right guys are available to do the job.
  2. Recently purchased a 2005 StreetKA - drove about 100 miles before engine management light lit up. Friendly off duty mechanic told me it could only be the lambda sensor of the air mass meter. Was going to do the lambda sensor myself but could not shift it no matter what I tried. Took it to Top Tread Tyres in Sheffield for a service and asked them to give it a check - they cleaned the air mass meter and the fault cleared but came back on after only a few miles (during their test drive) so they removed and replaced the manifold lambda sensor (at a very competitive price). This seems to have rectified the problem but be aware the engine management will lite up for all manor of reasons and getting it tested can be costly - cheap engine diagnostic tools are widely available to purchase so you can do your own checks. Apparently Ford cars on board computers run a diagnostic check every 100 miles.
  3. Hoping for decent weather tomorrow to be able to crack on with this job. Fingers crossed that I can locate all the right places and pieces and that it solves the problem of not being able to turn off the hot air. Thank you for your advice.
  4. Going to be changing HCV later this week (StreetKA). Should I flush system and fit new thermostat at same time? Is thermostat easy to locate? Hoping this little job is going to solve the hot air only issue. Hal
  5. Hi all, Just got 2005 StreetKA. Needs a few bits and pieces to bring it up to scratch - the heater control valve (seems a very popular topic), the lambda sensor and the air mass meter are on my list of things to do this week. Hal
