  1. Hi everyone again, Today my mondeo developed a strange power loss. Engine revs up to 4000 / 5000 even above easily when gears are not engaged and also in first and second gear when driving. But the problems starts in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gear when i push the accelerator pedal to floor to overtake it seems to cut the power out around 2500/3000 rpm and engine starts feel like its going to stall but slightly get better on power if I let the pedal back up a bit. Funnily its doing this 4 out of 5 times not all the time. No warning lights. Can anyone tell me what could cause this? I dont think its the turbo as its not smoking on high rev. Thanks for any reply.
  2. Check trailing arm bushes and other rubber bushes as they tend to squeak when they feel like. I had the same problem on my mondeo which stopped an started squeaking when it felt like, not all the time, its really annoyed me untill I figured out where the squeaking noise was coming from. Hope this helps mate.
  3. I had the AA out as its not even started the next day and after a good check around the car from the mechanic, he ended up giving a smack on the top of the dashboard and all come back to normal. It is some sort of electrical connection problem I have been told that drains the battery too. Been told taking off the dashboard is a big and expensive job as the air con is not working due to some sort of electrical problem and that cable is behind the dashboard too, so both could be investigated at the same time. Is it really a big and expensive job to take the dashboard off? or I could do it DIY? Any suggestions welcome.
  4. Hello everyone. I had this problem last year once when the instrument panel has shown no display but engine started runs and car drives, indicators, lights are working just no power whatsoever on display, than when its feel like its coming back to normal. As I said its happened last year and its happening again now. Has anyone any idea whats causing it has it happened to any other mondeo? Is it some sort of common electrical connection that I could check and fix? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
