Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. I'm looking to get a Rear Mount Cycle Carrier for my 2010 S-Max Titanium. Does anyone have any experience of these? I'm under the impression that they aren't recommended due the composite hatch but has anyone used any without problems? How many bikes have you carried? I'm looking to carry 2 adult and 1-2 kids bikes. I was looking for something like http://www.halfords.com/cycling/accessories/cycle-carriers-bike-racks/exodus-rear-high-mount-3-cycle-carrier-clamp-fitting Thanks.
  2. S-Max Intermittent Limp Mode

It has now! Ford initially found fault codes for fuel pressure and replaced the fuel metering valve. Their subsequent tests revealed the car was still going into limp mode. At this point the sought higher technical advice from the Ford technical department and were advised to look for a wiring problem. Eventually the dealers did find a possible wiring problem and repaired this. The problem still persisted on long motorway journeys...in the end they found a faulty number four injector and replaced this. This has sorted out the problem. It took 3 weeks of being in the dealership to sort out!!
  3. I recently bought a 2010 S-Max 2l TDI (163) Powershift Auto, 30k miles on clock. The first day I bought it the problem first appeared. Driving approx 70mph and accelerating the traction control light came on and then off after a few seconds. After that it went into limp mode and wouldn't accelerate past 75mph. Restarting the car resolved the limp mode. As the car was in the last few weeks of Ford Warranty It went to the dealers who said there was a low battery voltage code so trickle charged the battery. I then drove it for 800 miles without problems. Then the exact same thing happened again. Took it back to Ford who said no fault codes stored. They suggested changing the fuel filter which was done. After another 150 miles the same thing happened again! It drives normally at all other times. Any suggestions as to the problem? Thanks
  4. Fitting S-Max Load Retention Net

The bracket is only to make the car look neat after cutting the hole. From looking at the instructions it seems the fitting is already there once the hole is made. Anyone confirm?
  5. Hi, I've just recently bought a 60 plate S-Max 2.0 Diesel. I bought a second hand Load Retention Net from eBay and would be grateful for some help from those who have fitted it before. It hasn't come with an fitting instructions but I've managed to get some Ford. I need the brackets which are to be fitted once I cut into the fabric. Has anyone bought any apart from Ford, they are charging £20 each (which would mean £80 for all 4!) Is it straightforward to cut the fabric and fit the bracket? The instructions state that they must not be fitted by yourself. There's also an square area which needs to fitted after removing the seatbelt but I can't figure out what that bit is. Thanks for any help.
