Hi, I bought a 2003 Fiesta 1.4 Zetec last year and began to encounter problems from the start. It began losing power initially and then failed to start. Took it back to the dealer who said it was a coil pack. It drove ok for a while and then I had to take it back again. Coil pack again. Some 9 months later, the car began to play up once more. This time I took it to my mechanic who advised that it was a coil pack problem. After I forked out for the diagnostic check and the new coil pack, the car seemed to be fine. However, 2 months later and it's playing up again!!!!!!!!!!!! On top of that, there's an engine warning light on which he says is probably the CAT that's been damaged with all the mis-firing. I think I read somewhere else in the forum about disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes? Before I take this car back to my mechanic and probably spend another couple of hundred quid, does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers.
