  1. Hi, hope its ok to post this on here (carnt see an orion section) 1988 1.4 ghia, one family owned from new. Mot and tax due to run out in july. Needs some bodywork attention, how many left say only 8!! What's it worth as is? What's it worth with 12 months MOT and bodywork sorted? Opinions please! Thanks
  2. My Xr3 Out Of Hibernation!! What Ya Think?

Not sure if ill take it to ford fair, will see? Again thanks for the nice comments :) glad I've got one of few carb ones around. Plus my dad has an injection model :) Here's my dads XR3I
  3. My Xr3 Out Of Hibernation!! What Ya Think?

Thanks chaps! Got a few rs1600i parts on, one being the 4 spoke steering wheel :)
  4. My Xr3 Out Of Hibernation!! What Ya Think?

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. Defiantly will be keeping hold of her! As for the plates, yes there illegal. Although since I've had them on, I haven't taken them off... Unless I get pulled over!! Spoke to a couple of people at the shows I attend and they have never been pulled over for it. We must have some very lazy coppers out there! Lol I carry the legal ones with me all the time, so I can just swap over, I keep them on double sided velcro, so I can take off and on with ease
  5. Would absolutely love an rs turbo!! Preference to the s2 escort tho. If money was no object I'd have them all Would rather have an xr2, as said there rarer and more desirable. But my bank balance will only allow for a good deal on a 2i. Even then I need to spend some money on my xr3! Where's that lotto win?! Lol
  6. Hi everyone, The 1st of May has finally come!! (For me) After a long 6 months wait over the winter period, I've just got my xr out ready to have some fun and hit the local car shows :-) treating it to a service today, once I've got it started, due to the battery is flat! Anyway, thought I'd show you all my car!
  7. Thanks admiral! Will adhere to your advice, yes there is a dent on the bonnet and bumper has a crack in it. Have found a even better one in Romford for £1,300, lower miles at 43k, will put on 12 months MOT for that price to. Looks great, tho red, only fault without looking at it, is a dented passenger door. Will walk away from the grey one, if he doesn't come down enough. Grey one is near my area, tho Romford isn't, need to check my bank balance! Lol.
  8. 1993 Xr3I Cabriolet To Buy Or Not To Buy???

I have to agree!! It's the. 105ps and its sold... To some unlucky bugger! Lol
  9. Hi everyone! Always on the look out for old fords round my way and I've found two fiestas! Investment: xr2i, 1990 H reg, needs tidying up a little. No MOT, which will be about 200 quid to get through. Owner is looking for £950! Anyone think this is a bit steep or about right as they're getting rarer. Photo below. Mk2 fiesta, 1988 E reg, sorn, but has got 5 months MOT. Needs tidying, anyone think its worth tidying up and selling on, as it seems these are even going up in value. Owner has got it up for £450. Good price? May possibly sell nearer to a grand? Thoughts please.... Photo below
  10. 1993 Xr3I Cabriolet To Buy Or Not To Buy???

Hi, thanks for your advice. About to find out wether it's still for sale and what bhp it is. Here's some photos, looks a bit tatty?
  11. Hi, I would like some advice as to possibly buying a 1993 K reg escort xr3i cabriolet. Spec as follows; 1.8 petrol Black 105,000 miles reasonable condition hood not leaking 11 months MOT no TAX will require a few things, one thing being both inner CV boots. Any ideas of value, as to my description? I would just like to know are these worth it? Getting rarer, investment? Any advise/opinions very welcome. Thanks
  12. Hi all Im newbie Martyn, so please be gentle! lol Got a 2005 ford mondeo ghia x, done 136,500 miles. Have been told that my diesel pump is breaking up and taking my injectors out!! All will need refurbing, fuel lines and tank cleaned, new fuel rail, looking at £1200 plus!! :( Due to lack of use (car sharing with the mrs) i certainly don't need a diesel. If I was using everyday etc, I would repair! Any how, my dilemma is to scrap or strip for parts and sell, opinons please... The car does sound like its misfiring, running noisey due to fault. Car drives fine, tho not taking over 2500rpm. As i hear this is when it goes into limp mode etc. Autotrader value £1,825 (repaired) Proberly worth £2,000 with upgrades, better condition etc (repaired) Trade in value £800 - £1,000 (without knowing true fault, sold as seen, there opinoin) Scrap value £150 Sell for spares and repairs for whole car? Sell parts??? Has got 18inch refurbed alloys, leather/alcantra beige interoir and in tonic blue, car is in very good condition for year and mileage. How much do you peeps think I could/can get in stripping for parts? Shame these units suffer with this fault, otherwise a really nice car!! Opinions, advice etc welcome
