  1. Ford Fiesta 2012 Handbrake Problem?!

    Ratchet worn ?.I was always told to hold the handbrake release button"in"when applying the handbrake to stop wear on the mechanism.Now people just pull it up making that horrible noise.

    Had my Fiesta into a main dealer yesterday for the second service and was given a list showing what to do if the car breaks down and whats included in the cover.Never had to ask for it

    This country cannot financially afford mass lmmigration.I have not paid taxes etc all my life for Hospitals,pensions,and much more to have them taken from me when i am going to need them.My retirement age has been put back because the government cannot afford to pay it but suddenly can find millions of pounds a week to keep thousands of migrants who are going to lower my standard of life.Charity begins at home.

  6. Ecoboost First Gear Lacking?

    I understand what danny91 means.When i start up my non turbo 3 from cold in the morning,the first time i hit 2800 rpm it feels like a turbo kicking in.It only does it once and runs great for the rest of the day.The next morning it does it again .Is it something to do with the ignition timing.
  7. They have the same power as a mk 1 xr 2 which was anything but sluggish. If you want a bit of power and speed forget the 1.0l ecoboosts and get an st model.As the old sayings go,There aint no substitute for cubes/The only thing to beat a good small one is a good big one :D
  8. The 1.0l in the Fiesta is a non turbo 3 cylinder and called a Duratec ,Ford confusing people by keeping old names for new engines.

    Ecoboosts do come in Zetec trim and all the 3 cylinder Fiestas have stop/start which you either love or hate.Just read the 3 cylinder non turbo has not got the D M flywheel,one less thing to go wrong.

    Dont worry if yours has not got it,my 2013 zetec has and i cant see the point of it.
  13. Swapping 1.25 Duratec Head To 1.4

    I dont understand the above questions and answers.Changing heads will not increase the engines cc,but might change the comp ratio or cause the valves to hit the piston.Years ago we used to swap the heads off different crossflow engines in the belief we would get more power ie 1600 head onto a 1300.If you lengthen the stroke on the standard block you will send the pistons straight into the cylinder head not "not strip the piston rings off".If the 1.25 and the 1.4 use the same head casting but with different valve sizes as long as the valve lift is the same it should fit but i would think lots more parts would need to be changed as well.

    I have said this before but what is classed as a modification.If wind deflectors are then surely different tyre makes would be, as would windscreen wipers ,spark plugs etc.I can understand performance mods needing permission but window deflectors?
