  1. I hope so! I still have my classic mini to get running too! That is electrical and am not looking forward to locating the fault :( Alarm on Cosmos (my streetka) had a blip this morning and has behaved the rest of the day. I've had the hood down twice. May have possibly been the hood compartment not being closed properly causing the issue? I will know for certain when I come to use it again. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  2. Yeah... Boot is shut. Cool I'll check the fuse box to see if there's an issue there. I'm needing the car tomorrow so shall see what it does when I unlock it. Grrr all I've had is problems since I bought the thing :( Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  3. Hi all! Just a quick question about the remote central locking on a 2005 StreetKa It had been awhile since I drove the car so it required a jump start. Since then, every time I unlock the car via the fob, the alarm goes off. It's only a short burst and then switches off. Is this a sign that something isn't right? I.e the battery in the fob is low, or the main battery is low in power and requires replacing? I've not had to manually open the doors which is what I found my last issue was with the alarm so I know it's not that. Each time I open the doors the alarm goes off longer than the previous time. What's causing this to happen? Hope you can help. :) x Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  4. Okay..... Erm it went as follows Well as soon as I pressed the fob to open the doors, the alarm would set it self off. So I opened and closed the drivers door. Locked, unlocked and locked the doors by using the key. Waited for the alarm to stop then opened the doors with the fob and hey presto no alarm! :D Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  5. It's all good! I worked out how to stop it going off :D Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  6. Recovering from driving home with cosmos' alarm going off. Embarrassing :(

  7. Hi guys! Me again.... Sorry..... I had a bit of a muppet moment today and accidentally left the side lights on.... Must remember not all modern cars let you know when the lights are still on. I've jump started the car and the alarm is constantly going off.... I had to drive it home with the alarm ringing in my ears intermittently and the indicators flashing. Thankfully no police were around as that would have been embarrassing.... Yes officer I'm stealing my own car >_< Is this because the battery power is so low or is it because it didn't like the idea of being jump started? By the time I got home, the alarm had stopped going off, but after shutting the engine down, locking the doors on the fob and then unlocking the doors again on the fob, the alarm went off? I will start the car again later on and take it for a proper drive but is there any way I can shut the alarm down if it happens again? I really must get a Haynes manual >_< Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  8. I was just looking at that. Marvellous Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  10. Okay..... Sorry to be annoying but I'm looking at thermostats etc... Do I need the whole lot? The housing, gasket and thermostat? Would this be recommended? Or can I just buy the individual thermostat and a replacement gasket from uni part. The difference being around £80 for the gen ford thermostat housing with gasket and thermostat or £20 from uni part for the thermostat and gasket. Thanks again for ya help!
  11. Yeah fan is on quite quick when the engine warms up. I had an idea it could be the thermostat. Problem is.... This car is far too modern for me and I haven't a clue! >_< Will source a new one and attempt my first repair! Thanks guys 😊
  12. Hi guys! I've only recently bought my street ka and already have had issues with over heating and loosing coolent. It turned out to be the coolent tank (it was cracked in several places) which I've now had replaced. Since it's been replaced I would have expect everything to be normal but the engine is still getting too hot and flagging up the temp light on the dash when I'm town driving. The only way I can get the temp to drop is to put the heater on (this is the way we redirect heat in the classic minis when it's a hot day) What is causing the over heating? I've been told I don't have an air lock in the coolent system because if have heat coming from the heater. Could it be the thermostat? Please help! 😥
  13. She is indeed :D so happy! Need some nice weather and car shows now!
  14. Oh dear.... I don't know much about cars but have you checked and cleaned the earths? With the mini, if all the ignition system is working, it's normally the earth strap to the engine or the battery earth causing the problems. A quick clean and hey presto.
  15. What's up with yours?
