  1. You can do it that way, but it's better to take the plug out, put the HT lead on it, and then earth the plug by resting it somewhere metal like the engine hoist loop. Then start the car and check each has a strong spark. All in all it does sound like a broken down coil pack. I also have a few trade accounts around, so a coil pack does need replacing, then I'll happily post you one if it works out cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  5. Change the filter, it's cheap. For the intake, just have a good loom around for any dry, burnt or split pipes. Changing the loom just for HT leads is new to me though!?!? (The leads from the coil pack to the spark plugs shouldn't need a full wiring loom change). Have you got any pics? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  7. Do you hear the pump prime the engine when you turn the ignition to position 2 without starting the car? If not, then I'd agree with the above. Fairly easy job to change the pump, and should get one pretty cheap on ebay. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  8. Just a possible, but have you changed the fuel filter recently? Also, what about the HT leads? Have you checked for any leaks in the inlet pipe? You could also try holding the tacho reset button on the dash (by the LCD screen under the speedo) and start the car. Keep the button held in until the LCD reads "test" and then release the button. Now tap the button to cycle through the test sequences until you get to either "DTC none" or "DTC" plus a number. If it comes up with a number, then you've found the fault code, which you should be able to find here Any problems let me know, and best of luck :) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

  12. It's probably me being dumb here, not you. But if it helps, I think most remote fobs are fine, as you programme the car itself to learn the key, not the other way around. My car didn't come with a remote fob, so I got one off ebay and linked it to the car as I said earlier. The fob a got was a flip key type from a Mondeo. I just use that to lock/unlock the car, and use the simple key that came with the car to start it. Any probs give me a shout and I'll help where I can. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Not really sure if this is what you're asking but if you are looking to program the Remote fob to the car, then put the key in the ignition and turn it to position 2 and back to off 4 1/2 times (so it ends up in the on/p2 position). You should then hear a sound from behind the dash. Hold down any button on the fob for five seconds. Switch the ignition off and take out the key. That should be it buddy. (Ford wanted £120 from me!)
