  1. I have recently had a light come on 'powertrain warning fault' I had my mechanic look at it who done a diagnostic. He said that it is an ECM fault and would have to go to 'ford' he told me that the module will either need re-programming or waste case scenario they will need to fit a new one and then program that. I rang 'ford' who now want to do their own diagnostic for £90+ even though I told them the fault (which I understand as they aren't going to just take my word for it) I'm just worried how much their now going to bill me to sort the problem. Has anyone else had any similar problems?????
  2. Anyone know how easy it is to replace a reverse switch on a MK2 focus? Don't know whether to attempt it or take it a local garage.
  3. nice lad!
  4. Thats slightly different to the type i mentioned, the ones i was talking about dont have the anchor at the bottom/end Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
  5. They look like firtree's they use them alot on land rover's. We used to use a tool called a ducks foot to wedge underneath it and force it out, they should just push back in there like a plastic push screw, if that makes sense. Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
  6. perseverance paid off, it seems to be a combination of things wrong for anybody who may need to know this. 1) one of the small buttons on the board that is normally engaged when you press the lock button on the fob - had come away from the board and I had placed it back on upside down 2) (as stoney said) the spring/prong that the battery sits on had become slightly bent out of position - probably due to me not being delicate enough, anyway bent it back into place and all is good in the hood thanks for all the tips brothers
  7. PCB
  8. ill check that, the circuit board (RCD is it called?) has one of the contact buttons loose, it was like that when I first changed the battery but don't know if that plays a part, it is sat in the correct position to engage when you press the button.
  9. Yes fob was working fine, gradually got worse as in had to press numerous times or get nearer to car, so put that down to the battery. Buttons dont seem broken, yes battery in exactly the same way original was. Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
  10. I have just changed the battery. But now the fob doesn't want to work. I tried a few different sequences, I can get the chime to sound - indicating it is in learn mode, but then nothing happens when pressing/holding the key fob button/s.
  11. Just ended up replacing the battery but now my remote central locking wont work. Tried a couple of variations to program the key again, but when holding the lock button in order to program the key, no bleep will occur and hence keyfob still doesnt work. Help! 12. I have a 06 focus with a 3 button keyfob. I am thinking of getting a blank as mine is worn and battery is on its way out. I know obv. ill need to get the blade cut, but how simple is it to swap over the transponder?? Im guessing it won't need re-programming? Any advice would be great thanks.
  13. has anybody done a swap over on a 3 button ford focus keyfob. Basically mine is tatty and the battery is dying, so i thought why not buy a new one and just get the blade cut. But dont know if its straight forward swapping over the transponder etc.

  14. Has anybody done a basic changover from a worn tatty 3 button keyfob to a new 3 button keyfob, my battery is on its way out and was about to order one off amazon £3, but then I seen I can get a new blank keyfob with a 2 pack of batteries for only £10. So I thought I might aswell just swap over my electronics and transponder and get the key blade cut at a locksmith. Is changing over the electronics easy enough?? Im guessing surely I haven't got to program it as its just my existing transponder just in a new case.
  15. Has anybody ever replaced the reverse switch on a mk2 focus? Is this an easy job to do yourself? Sent from my HTC One using Ford OC mobile app
