  1. Thanks mate. Diesel is a no go for me, I've decided. Too many potential faults with injectors and DPF etc. My budget is £7k tops also.
  2. Hi all, Can wear and tear like in the stereo photos of this advert be repaired? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201412139628568/sort/locasc/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/keywords/2.5/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/radius/1501/body-type/estate/price-to/7000/usedcars/postcode/ne77rt/fuel-type/petrol/make/ford/model/mondeo/transmission/manual/page/1?logcode=p Can you get new stickers, or would the entire facia need replacing?
  3. Yup, the £5250 one has sold. What do people think about this one, in Surrey? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201411118910965/sort/locasc/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/price-to/7000/postcode/ne77rt/model/mondeo/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/page/1/fuel-type/petrol/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/make/ford/radius/1501/keywords/2.5/transmission/manual/usedcars/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old?logcode=p
  4. Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking. My last car was an Astra VXR which was 240 bhp. I don't think I'll enjoy 143bhp zetec and it's not like it's going to save me thousands in fuel compared to the 2.5T. I worked out that at 6000 miles a year, (25mpg on the 2.5 vs 33mpg on the 2) there would only be about £300 a year difference in fuel.
  5. It's typical luck for me... There are only 11 for sale that I can find. What other sites should I be looking at, aside from auto trader, piston heads, and motors?
  6. Just spoken to him, and two people gonig to see it tomorrow, so again, I'll likely miss out on it :( F**king work! Ha
  7. Just found this, at almost £2k cheaper, but would entail a 5 hour, £150 train journey to get there... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201412119579570/sort/locasc/keywords/titanium/page/1/make/ford/postcode/ne77rt/maximum-age/up_to_7_years_old/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/price-to/7000/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/model/mondeo/fuel-type/petrol/radius/1501/seller-type/private_adverts/usedcars/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/transmission/manual?logcode=p
  8. Hi all, I get the impression that compared to its mediocre performance, the economy of the 2L Zetec isn't that great at ~33mpg. Can I ask what would you recommend given my low annual mileage of only ~6k, what would be better for me? 2L or 2.5T that I would enjoy driving more? Is the 2.5T much worse on fuel than the 2L zetec? Basically, I'd much prefer the 2.5T, but if it is horrendous on fuel, then I'll compromise on fun and get the 2L Zetec. Please bear in mind my low annual mileage though. Thanks!
  9. Good info, but after seeing the way a few friends of mine treat their lease cars, I personally will never go for an ex lease car. Just my opinion. Basically, what I need to know is: is the 2.5T much thirstier than the 2L Zetec? If there's not that much in it, I know which engine I'd prefer. However, if the 2.5T is a lot worse than the already quite poor economy of the 2L zetec, I'll stick to the slower engine and save some cash...
  10. Can the same be said for petrol though? Diesel is not practical for me due to the short hops and low annual mileage.
  11. Sorry I was in a hurry when posted that. By old I meant mileage. 120k is too much for my liking, especially in a car that I'm going to want to keep a while...
  12. Thatnks for that but I don't want to go for a car that old. I'd rather spend a bit more and have a car that doesn't have as much risk of something going wrong on it soon if that makes sense.
  13. OK, so 6 months on and I still haven't got a !Removed! car. I was set on getting a 2L petrol Zetec, but my many accounts, they're very thirsty for their performance. So, now I'm back at considering the 2.5T Titanium, from 57-08 era. I have these in mind, all of which are a good 150 miles from me, so I'd really appreciate any thoughts before I set off with my dad... Full Sat Nav, 60k miles, but £7k... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201409307834531/sort/locasc/fuel-type/petrol/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/ne77rt/model/mondeo/maximum-age/up_to_8_years_old/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/price-to/7000/make/ford/keywords/2.5/usedcars/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/transmission/manual/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew?logcode=p No Sat Nav, 64k miles, cheaper at £5800 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201412139628568/sort/locasc/fuel-type/petrol/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/ne77rt/model/mondeo/maximum-age/up_to_8_years_old/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/price-to/7000/make/ford/keywords/2.5/usedcars/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/transmission/manual/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew?logcode=p Or this, No Sat Nav, 57k miles, £6000 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201410148203566/sort/locasc/fuel-type/petrol/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/ne77rt/model/mondeo/maximum-age/up_to_8_years_old/maximum-mileage/up_to_70000_miles/price-to/7000/make/ford/keywords/2.5/usedcars/engine-size-cars/2l_to_2-5l/transmission/manual/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew?logcode=p What do you think? I factor in that I should easily get £500 off all three of those prices with a bit of bartering...
  14. As of Feb this year, they're supposed to check, yes. If a factory fitted DPF is removed it's an instant MOT failure.
  15. True but if the car had one from factory, and MOT finds it removed, it's and instant fail. Not sure what others do but it would I'd have to refit and remove it each time it was due for MOT or have a friend who's willing to look the other way...
