  1. Pulling The Girl Card Here

This is the part I'm looking for Sent from my iPad using Ford OC
  2. Pulling The Girl Card Here

Hi all. Hope your all well. Car still working beautifully after all your advice to previous posts. Quick question, some dimwit , pulled out on me no real damage done but they've managed to snap the plastic black bit on my passenger mirror ( the bit that runs from top of door to the start of door panel) the mirror and housing works fine. I just need to know the name of the black panel bit so I can replace it. ( I've currently done a bodge job sticking it together with tape and not sure how long it will last. )Thanks all x

Sorry not updated for a while. Cluster was removed to run the can bus lead, turns out the multi plug thingy in the pcb had got loose. So simply just had to be pushed in securely and presto. Car driving a dream (so far) no lights starts first turn of the key. A few fuses were changed in the process as the wrong amps were in a few. Didn't realise my model had parking sensors!!! So after all that I think my car would've cost £50 max to fix if a mechanic / auto electrician had looked at my car properly instead of spending nigh on £500 on useless idiots. Moral of the story check basics yourself before calling ' experts '

£120 Inc vat and labour. Although on ebay the leads are around £60

***update*** So, I had an auto electrician come out, do full diagnostics etc, his theory, although I haven't acted on it yet is , that I need a new can bus lead, apparently they are easy to replace (I'm guessing if you know what your doing) . As it's all to do with radio and ignition etc, I'm not quite sure to think as I have no clue, I don't want to be wasting money on another wild goose chase. Just checked battery output is fine, I changed the battery about a month ago ( previous owner had a standard lead battery in but have got a bosch s5 in now). Maybe altinator?

The plot thickens....... Past couple of days car working great, if anything better then I did when I first got it!! No warning lights, starts up on first turn perfect, except now the stereo has gone funny, I've got the standard cd600 in there, but now when the car starts the display goes blank and it doesn't work, if and when it comes on it displays wrong time, ( I don't even have to put radio code in when it comes on) I thought the clock was controlled by RDS signal and you couldn't change it manually? I'm less inclined now to say it isn't cluster but a power surge/loss issue. Thoughts? A true woman is always classy and never nasty <3

Thanks for that. I'll give them a call and see if I can take it in for a while you wait service. Luckily my AA membership covers my car to be transported should it not start. Will update in due course. A true woman is always classy and never nasty <3

No but found a blue multi plug in the interior fuse box. I'm going to check all the fuses later and see if there is a broken circuit somewhere, and put my school physics lessons to the test lol.

I'm in Surrey. Sounds easy enough but weather it is in the practical sense is another lol. How do you clean it? I'm assuming the standard toothbrush is required for brushing it off? I looked on you tube and they used wd40 but I don't think that would be any good for the unit am I right in thinking contact spray will be better? A true woman is always classy and never nasty <3

Do you know if it's easy to take off? Bearing in mind I'm a girl lol

I'm beginning to think my issue is the cluster. I went out stupid early to get shopping this morning after sitting in car for 10 mins with key in position 2 to start car I pull off all ok on journey park up do shopping. Get back in car another 10 minutes sitting waiting for car to start get going thus time with engine light on get 2 mins down the road and all the warning lights light up for few seconds. No loss of power or anything, just made me !Removed! myself. Any other ideas before I send it off for a cluster repair?
