    Mk7 Zetec S Ti-Vct
  1. Alright guys. Has anybody sold their mk7 Fiesta privately? If so did it go quickly, was there much interest etc. I'm wanting a Z4 so will be selling my Zetec S soon, the spec is as follows... 59 Reg Zetec-S Panther Black 1.6 Ti-VCT Petrol Street Pack Bluetooth & USB Side Skirts Heated Windscreen 9200 miles - Just had it's first service at ford main dealer Car is absolutley immaculate and the wheels have just been professionally refurbished as they had a couple of small scuffs on them. Ideally I'd like about £10000 for it, does that sound about right? Cheers guys.
  2. They only had 5 door euro spec fiestas being driven as promotional cars. That's what makes it appear a genuine ford test mule IMO and not a tuners effort, and I doubt any of the US tuners would bother importing a car over from Europe to modify. Ford were probably trying to test it on the roads away from the UK etc where it probably would have attracted alot of attention, with the UK being the top hot hatch market. And of course they could fit an engine in the fiesta which requires an intercooler, the corsa vxr has one and that's 1.6 turbo like the fiesta st is rumoured to be.
  3. On a long run at what speed?! Lol. At a steady 70 I don't think mine shows anywhere near even a quoted 55mpg, more like 43ish I think.
  4. I'm thinking about getting rid of my Zetec-S soon, going for a totally different class of car to the Fiesta(new shape TT or a Boxster S). I still think the Fiesta's the best car in it's class! Mine isn't perfect, the passenger door rattles, but for what it is it's great! They look lovely, especially in ZS + Street pack guise, and aside from the doors I don't think the build quality's that bad. There's some hard plastics but you get that in all super mini's. And with regards to power, it's not hugely fast but surely people knew this before they were buying it?! The Ti-Vct engines a good one though (never driven the diesel so can't comment on that), nice and smooth and in all fairness plenty fast enough for a good blast down B roads if you keep it on the boil, combine this with the handling and it makes a fun car, i'll definately miss mine!
  5. I think mine does the same thing as yours mate. I start the car first thing on a morning, select first gear, set off then the car seems to loose all power for a second (its as if it's stalled, but it hasn't) then the power will kick back in and the car will launch forward. It'll only do this the first time I set off on a morning, never again throughout the day. Sound similar? Havn't bothered taking it in to ford yet.
  6. Thing is though a chav couldn't have got hold of that in the US, they're only getting the 5 door over there, and the US model has different bumpers etc.
  7. I have this problem aswell. Like Fiesta Zetec X said it's not the speaker it's the actual door card. Mine rattles but when you press in certain places it stops (mainly the arm rest insert section). I've heard some people mention when they've had the door card off then some of the clips aren't even there. If ford won't do anything about this i'll probably just put a layer of sound deadening in the doors, should stop the rattles and make the speakers sound abit better!
  8. Get well soon matey.
  9. Did the sound deadening make much difference? To be honest mate you'll probably find even a small amp makes a fair bit of difference, something along these lines... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_184579_langId_-1_categoryId_165526#dtab or http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jbl-gt5-a402e.html or http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&partNumber=559328&langId=-1
  10. What's the sensitivity rating on the pioneer speakers? The higher the sensitivity then the louder a speaker will play for a given watt of power. And does the stock head unit really limit bass at higher volumes? I'd have thought that it was just the amp being pushed into distorsion. If I was going to run some speakers off the stock head unit I'd have gone for some hertz deici's, they're meant to run really well off headunit power. I'd also have sound deadened the doors abit, hopefully that would have eliminated some of the rattles and also improved the bass response. I've got a spare jbl 75.2 amp in the garage, If I can mount it behind the glove box I'm gonna upgrade my fronts to some spl dynamics components.
  11. If people are looking for a decent induction kit then I'm in touch with Pete from GSR Engineering at the moment and he's willing to design an induction kit for the mk7. His kits get rave reviews over on the fiat forums and the zetec s owners club. They're a propper cold air intake system, open filter located away from the hot bay and in a place where they get plenty of cool air. Would anyone on here be interested in the kit? Obviously a group buy would probably make them cheaper but i'll let everyone know when I know more myself.
  12. Sorry I've took a while mate. The speaker adaptors are by a company called celcus... http://www.acvgmbh.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=3172 Don't actually know where to get them though?! I'll let you know when I find a supplier. Here's the speakers I was referring to aswell. If your not going to be running a seperate amp then these are supposedly great (according to the people over on Talk Audio who generally know what they're on about)... http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/hertz-dieci-dsk-165.html
  13. I have a Zetec-S and I think it's really comfortable, the sports seats are great aswell. Coming from a mk2 punto with a very un-sporty ride I don't find it any worse than that; obviously it's abit firmer but it's hardly bone shaking.
  14. If your fitting them yourself have a look at some hertz sk165 dieci speakers. Supposed to be a great speaker that really shines off headunit power alone. I'll get you a name for some mk7 speaker adaptors aswell tonight, not pioneer but they'll do the same job.
  15. I sent an email to superchips last week, they said their waiting to get a mk7 petrol in for development. With regards to power Pete from GSR engineering is willing to design an induction kit for the mk7. His induction kits get rave reviews over on the zetec s owners club and the fiat forums. Proven power gains and would sound lovely aswell. Would anyone be interested?
