Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Possible Mk3 Boot Leak?

Hi all. I noticed all my pics have disappeared now so here they are again for anyone needing them. If any mods can add them back to the original descriptive post that would be great. Cheers Wes
  2. Possible Mk3 Boot Leak?

Toonami, If you havent already done so then you can replace the rubber grommet from underneath. That was how i found the initial pool of water in the cavity by pulling it out from under the car.
  3. What CCTV do you have?

There are some cheap ones on ebay if youre after a stand alone SD card unit for internal fitment that you view from your phone. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272134986173
  4. What CCTV do you have?

To be honest i always thought it would be in the region of £1000 for a basic system. I didnt realise you can get systems like above connected to your phone for remote viewing so cheap!
  5. What CCTV do you have?

How long have you had it for Stef? Ive just read about someones Swann kit packing up after 2 years but i guess that could just be a one off. The alarm engineer i use at work said the kit i posted is good for the price but its always nice to get other opinions. He actuall runs a H-View system which he shown me on his phone. I thought that feature was brilliant. The £399 kit in Screwfix is 2tb so maybe thats why the price has now increased. http://www.screwfix.com/p/swann-swdvk-845504-uk-8-channel-security-system-4-cameras/2443p
  6. What CCTV do you have?

What systems do you run? Ive been looking at these on ebay - Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112275701026 Has anyone got any experience with this kit and what do you think or can you recommend a better 1080p alternative around the same price? I love the P2P feature of it being displayed remotely to my mobile.
  7. plastic part on bonnet lock

Heres a great video on how to build the new lock assembly to enable you to use your existing key. I followed it to build my dads new barrel and found it very easy. I used a genuine Ford assembly as in the video but the aftermarket kit listed above looks the same. From memory i dont think you will be able to remove the white bit you want without damaging the anti tamper part inside. I would just build the new lock up and replace the whole part.
  8. plastic part on bonnet lock

Not sure how these connect to the key barrel but it has the replacement part with a different rod. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201829922883
  9. plastic part on bonnet lock

I binned one of them last month, typical!!! Had to replace the lock rod on my dads Focus as the anti tamper bit inside your pic above was coming apart and disengaging the lock. There will be loads of them in breakers yards.
  10. plastic part on bonnet lock

    The bit ive posted above?
  11. plastic part on bonnet lock

This bit? Modified one here - Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252245489448 Original spec here - Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191186526941
  12. Boot Leaking Help (Pulling my hair out)

Have you applied a good dose of grease on the light cluster seals to eliminate those from your investigations? Grease is better than silicone for the lights as its none setting so wont cause any issues when you want to change a bulb.
  13. Possible Mk3 Boot Leak?

It will only solve the leak if thats where waters getting in but it most probably will be there. Remove the vent and apply sealant to the body and the rear of the vent for a good seal rather than just smearing it over the front. I greased up the seals on my light clusters too for added protection. If you refer to my pics you will see where the locking tabs are located on the vents. I just used a long thin screwdriver to release them.
  14. I would get a price from Ford for them. Sometimes parts are cheaper than you would think, only sometimes though!
