  1. Thanks for all your comments. The dealers are useless and am still having a nightmare with the CD skipping after the car being in 4 TIMES for it...so won't bother ssking them. Will look at going down the strip lighting route. Cheers
  2. No, only when you open the door and for about 10 seconds after closing it. It's a shame if it can't be done as may have to see if I can buy some battery powered strip lighting. Does anyone know where to get that? obviously can't be too bulky. Cheers
  3. Hi, I have a MK7 fiesta zetec 1.6TDCi and am a driving instructor. Can anyone tell me, is there a way I can keep the drivers footwell light on constantly. As it's dark in the evenings so early, it would be really handy for watching my pupils feet (coasting/early braking etc). If there is an easy way of turning it off and then back on, great. But I'd settle with on all the time whilst the engines runnning (at least for another couple of months anyway) cheers
  4. I'm still having the problem with CD skipping. Ford claim to have done the update but still nothing. I have booked the car in for having a new stereo fitted in early January after fighting nd arguing with Fords...Still not 100% that they will fit a new stereo, but fingers crossed. Ford just kept telling me not to burn MP3 disks using the whole disk and only to burn 50% full. I laughed in their face ;-)
  5. Hi, I'm a driving instructor and as you can guess do a LOT of stop start journeys (some in 1st gear only for an hour-car park steering lessons) and a lot of manourvres too (very slow in either first or reverse). I have been getting about 400 miles to the tank, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. It's a zetec 1.6TDCi 5 door. Only done just over 2,500 so far but more than happy. Would love to get 500 though ;-)
  6. Tried different cd's and burning with WMP instead of nero...still no joy. also, you shouldn't need to muck around doing these things...nearly a 15 grand car and the stereo don't work properly...and ford are blind to the fact. Can anyone help...this is driving me crazy
  7. Hi, Did anyone get anywhere with this. I've looked through the threads and seen the update ones but no-one has replied for ages with definitive positive results. My Fiesta zetec 1.6 TDCi went in the other day for it's courtesy check and I told them that the CD skips when over 75% of the disc (MP3 discs). After the check the engineer came out and told me that 'Ford recommend that only original discs should be played on the stereo, and it was because it was a copied CD' I told him that the stereo plays MP3 tracks and ALL MP3 discs would be copies. I also told him that on the ford forum people say that this problem can be fixed with a software update. He didn't know anything about it (but he seemed like an idiot so that didn't surprise me). Is the a definitive answer I can go back with. This is really annoying me.
  8. bump---anyone???
  9. Hi, Did anyone get anywhere with this. My Fiesta zetec 1.6 TDCi went in yesterday for it's courtesy check and I told them that the CD skips when over 75% of the disc (MP3 discs). 10. Yes Chris, wa actually there at 9.30. left at 4.45am!!! Tony Clarke sounds like he has a lot of work. Really loved the drive back. What a nice drive. First Diesel too. One thing that did shock me, the diesel cap...it's just a flap you push in, it opens and there is NO cap at all. No locking device on the filling part. I questioned this and Tony said they'll all like it...on way valve...no one syphons anymore...blah blah blah. Is this true?? Also, got two !Removed! stone chips on the way home...on the boot!!!!! Have christened the fezza Fergal...the wife hates it ;-)
  11. Hi Andy, Yes, ordered mine through dealdrivers from GK. Placed order on 18th June. But as the car is going to be for me as a driving instructor, the only extra was squeeze paint and spare wheel. This may be a facto how I got mine so quick. Thanks everyone for you advice. Will post a photo tomoz. OOHHHHHH EXCITED!!!
  12. I'm doing the 200 mile drive first thing in the morning in my 11 year old focus (scrappage) all the way up to cheserfield to collect my new Fiesta zetec. As I have NEVER bought a brand new car before, does anyone have any tips / advice? What should I look out for on the check? How many miles on the clock is 'unacceptable' (Bit paranoid that some poxy little salesman has been driving it home everynight, it's been there for 3 weeks) etc... Cheers
  13. I second UK Chris on dealdrivers. Ordered my 5 door 1.6tdci zetec on 28th June and picking it up Thursday. All in all car was nearly £15,000 retail and am paying just over £10,000 (although i'm using the scrappage deal and ford privelage which combined is £2,750 off). Whatever you do, don't use a*******.com (forced to edit post, although factually true). They are cowboy merchants and you will have to fight tooth and nail to get a refund. I didn't end up getting the full amount even though I was entitled. BEWARE. and good luck. You're making a good choice ;-)
  14. Good luck today. Picking my new fiesta up Thursday. Can't wait. Looking forward to your piccy's
