Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. mk3 Bluetooth/Phone/Voice Control

Okay so the "automatically download phonebook" wasn't selected, so i ticked that and pushed the "download phonebook" button.. all good!
  2. I have got my Galaxy S7 paired with the car ('SYNC') and for the most part, works great. Can play audio, can receive (answer) calls but the downfall is making a call. When I use voice control, and say 'Call (name)' it returns with a voice saying 'No Entries'. When I say 'Phonebook', again, it replies with 'No Entries' When someone calls me, the mobile number is shown on the screen and not the name. I thought it may be permissions in android on the phone however I have given the sync full access...
  3. Thanks but no... i'm not confident enough (or interested in) dismantling it myself...
  4. Does anyone know of an individual or garage in glasgow (or Scotland) that would make some modifications to my mk3 focus? I'm interested in larger/touchscreen display (currently got the small one) Reverse parking camera Thanks in advance
  5. Retrofitting A New Radio/display System Mk3

Sorry to revive an old topic.. does anyone know of anywhere in Glasgow (or Scotland) that would do this retrofit for me?
  6. So I've finally given up on my mk2.5 2008 focus 1.6 tdci after having to change the DPF, turbo (twice) and engine. It's now traded in against a 63 plate which only has 20k on clock and WILL be serviced and treated properly! Question is, what (if any) are recommended mods for performance? I'd like a little more than the stock 113bhp but not sure the best path to take. I've been quoted by a local tuning place (Glasgow) £275 to remap it, stage 1, which would take it to 147bhp. They also offered a DPF delete and removal which I declined. Thoughts?
  7. 1.6 tdci engine noise ??

Well i've just about had it with this car. Nothing but bad news and a never ending pit to throw money into. I ended up having to get the engine replaced too.. knocking noise was the "big end" (after several hundreds of pounds spent on strip down and replacing risers and flush and all that stuff).. Then with replacement Engine, the car would go into limp mode and fault readers bitched about dpf. tried 3 or 4 regens, making sure fluid topped up, no difference. already spent near 2k on car at this point so didnt want a new dpf as well so i then had it removed (hollowed out) and remapped... Net result, replaced engine, no dpf, car drives fine except for the following 1. Fair bit of (kinda blue) smoke under acceleration (light or heavy) 2. Driving along, flashed my lights at someone, got a beep off the dashboard and a warning that the bonnet was open.. 3. Parked up, locked up, alarm set, outside my house. Go in house... 20 minutes, alarm on car goes off and wont turn off by the fob (i can see the car out the window, there was nothing anywhere near it. It turned itself off. an hour later.. same again.. alarm going off for about 20 seconds. Absolutely fed up. Called garage, they say there is no way the remap could of been wrong / not taken right because if it did, there would still be a fault on dash / limp home mode. I dont think this is true though... surely you can remove reference to the DPF but also feck something else up in the process? Lastly, the car has been sat since mid june... which used intermittently in limp mode (in emergencies) etc, which probably what finally killed DPF (no regen going on) so now i'm wondering if EGR is now gone as well :(
  8. Hi folks. If any of you out there have a focus mk2.5 tdci that's had the dpf removed/bypassed, successfully, can you fire me a PM? Much appreciated!
  9. So I used a few ford VIN decoder websites, ended up with 1.6L Duratorq TDCi (110PS) - DV6 being as close as I could get. Guess i'll go hunt for a DV6 engine..
  10. Sorry to revive an old topic but i've got the car back from the garage along with a huge bill for labour/diagnostic and it's not even fixed. Looks like I need an engine but anywhere I go seems to give me different codes etc and it's confusing as hell! I was advised that the engine code for what is in mine would be part of the chasis number. So I had a look at the plate in the doorframe and came away with: WF0PXXWPDP8R##### Can anyone tell me what engine code I should be looking for a replacement? All I know is it is a 2008 (DA3 Facelift) 1.6tdci 109 Focus with a busted engine :(
  11. ...and is that 9HW, 9HY or 9HZ?
  12. Well if a DV6 will go in... i'll get my hands on one of those if thats what it comes to. i found another post on here by someone with a 1.6tdci that has a regular, loud tapping noise which increases in tempo as i rev. this is EXACTLY the same noise and symptoms of mine and there was mention of the camchain/tensioner.. might be worth checking that out?
  13. 1.6 tdci engine noise ??

OP, did you ever get to the bottom of this? i have a 2008 1.6tdci and it is making EXACTLY the same noise! mechanic discovered Injector 1 had gone, replaced it.. tapping still there. now wants to do a full flush.. failing that, a new engine! Thinking i should point him at the camchain/tensioner?

    did you scrap or keep?
