Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Recalls

The Kuga has been mentioned twice in the latest recall notice. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/UKDVSA/bulletins/1b7fdec
  2. Mondeo headlight issue

I'm guessing you need Forscan or elmconfig to read the systems
  3. Mondeo headlight issue

Are they HID's or normal bulbs? Also some models have static cornering lights as well, these only come on when turning the wheel left or right, could be one of those has failed.
  4. Moisture Around Spare Tyre

My 2009 also lets water run into the boot area when `I lift the tailgate. I now open it slowly so the water runs into the channels each side of the tailgate area.
  5. Can someone identify this hose please.

Could it be the washer pipe for the tailgate?
  6. EGR delete on a 2.0 Duratec HE

Some engines will report a fault if the blanking plate is solid. There are ones on sale with a small hole to eliminate this problem. You could try drilling a hole in yours to see if it helps
  7. plastic trim on boot opening Mondeo 4.5 2013

I know how you feel, I also like things to be right. My B pillar air vents are a point in question one is the other way round to the other.
  8. plastic trim on boot opening Mondeo 4.5 2013

    This may help. https://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en&l=
  9. Convers+ Updates

I have now installed the mod to my 2008 MK4 titanium x sport. Overall it took 4.5 hours as the biggest installer kept fail to finish. I then had an issue with Elmconfig which once resolved the rest was easy. I guess some of the add ons only appear when the item is in use.
  10. Non start

On a couple of occasions my 2.2 diesel has struggled to start but once it did it ran perfect even at motorway speeds. This morning it started as normal, went to pull away and the engine cut out and would not restart. Called AA and the guy put his code reader on it came up with P0490 EGR fault, got car started by removing MAF sensor plug. Took it to AA recommended garage and the only fault they could get was P0113 intake air temp sensor 1 circuit high input. They replaced this and the car started fine. It drives perfect with no loss of power and very smooth. Would the above cause the car not to start?
  11. USB query

I'm don't think you can just plug a usb lead into it. I have the same unit in my car, I also believe that the newer modules that allow usb and streaming are not compatible with our setup. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  12. Water running off tailgate into boot

I think it requires a new screen as well as it fits between the glass and the tailgate
  13. Water running off tailgate into boot

It looks like the issue is the water laying on the panel below the screen is running underneath the rubber sealing strip and into the boot. This is due to the design. As you can see the rubber has a gap between the panel itself, this is where the water runs then under the strip up the side of the screen. I was thinking of putting some black mastic all the way along to force the water into actual channel.
  14. Water running off tailgate into boot

Thanks, was hoping for a better solution. Will have to open carefully for the water to drain off first then.
  15. I have a 2009 Mondeo Tit x sport and when I open the tailgate during or after rain water runs into the boot. The edge of the rear screen has a rubber channel along both sides and the bottom, the problem is the water sits on the panel below the screen then runs down the side and off the edge into the boot area. Has anyone resolved this issue?
