  1. Had it two week now no leaks from what I can see however it does have a belt squeak which I have yet to look at but anyone have any ideas on a cause? It does change pitch with engine revs so think could be drive belt?
  2. I agree I was also ina bump in Dec. My fault as i went into the back of another focus. Both my car and his had minor damage. Both ford Focus 02 plates. No air bag set or anything like that. My baby daughter didn't even notice the crash. Minor dame to the front of my car, new headlight and a bumper and front rebar. everything else was fine. Insurance quoted £1900. I was like no way its not that expensive. They said its based on thier own 'repairers' and thats the best they can do. In this case wrote the car off but it all seems like a scam to me. They were giving me quote for parts that didn't even need repaired. No one actually came to see the car. They just had some photo's taken from a local repair garage. How can they assess damage and costs from a photo. I had to tell them about the rebar as none even opended the bonnet. Not too bothered now as i've spent the money towards a nice little 10 plate focus. :)
  3. Ford Manual also suggests that sport mode is best for icy or snow laiden roads as faster response and more feedback from the wheels.
  4. Hi all I'm buying a 2010 focus 1.8 zetec petrol next week and wanted to know if you guys had any input. What should I look out for? Is there any common faults etc. From what I've seen it looks in good condition and has 26k on the clock and was registered in march 10 so I think its standing quite good in that area but my last ford was an 02 Focus 1.6 zetec and I had no problems in the 4 years I've had it. Any info appreciated Thanks, Shaun
  5. I personally never fill the tank more than half way. I have found that the MPG is better due to carrying less weight. If your wife has a full tank then she is doing those short journeys with around 55 litres in the tank. This can weigh upto 6 stone (the weight of a small person). She basically has a passenger all the time... I also feel it gives a better ride around the curves due to weight.
  6. Some models there is a clip like latch which if pushed allows the whole light fitting to slide out and allows access to change the bulb.
