  1. Ex Police and MOD estate cars trim levels?

Mostly cost. They're a vehicle for transporting officers / dogs etc. As long as they can respond the MOD ans Police don't tend to splash out on niceties... Humberside have the odd Antara with heated seats... these are a luxury. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  2. Help?

Carbon clean? I've heard of it but not quite sure what it 'clean' I'll look into it :) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  3. Help?

I've posted a few times on here and always got some really good advice, so I'm back again :) My mk1.5 Focus has just hit 80k although is 13 years old and due a timing belt. (It hasn't done many miles in the last 3 years until I bought it in Sept 2016. I've noticed just recently that when I start it, switch everything off and leave to idle it doesn't sound quite right. The only way I can describe it is by saying that when idle. The rev needle moves half an inch, every half a second or so for a good 5 mins or so and I can hear it revving. It's like I'm constantly tapping on the accelerator but I'm not... Would this have anything to do with the timing belt not having being changed? I've tried to attach a video... http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/587b83da738c2/Snapchat-1108755177.mp4 Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  4. Ford Focus Mk1 Common Problems Thread

My OS brake isn't working but the NS and top one is... along with both rear tail lights. Poss a bulb. The connectors are usually at fault though so I've heard. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  5. Birmingham Bodywork repairs. Someone bumped into me!

I work for Ford Accident Management / Vizion Network. Push for a FARC or Ford Approved Repair centre. Advance are a good bunch, theyre one kf ours and so are Perfect Finish but with it being driveable you're looking at a good 2 week wait I'd say... also Trust Ford Birmingham and RS Motors. What insurer is the other person with? We deal with 15 / 20+ insurers on a daily basis so chances are my team will be dealing with the management side of it. Most dealers don't have a body repair centre on site and if they do they won't be Insurance approved apart from the big ones like Trust Ford / Bristol Street. I'd look into Ford Accident Management (im not trying to ploy for trade either aha) they can sort out the repairs for you, and a replacement hire car. If you need any assistance, I'm happy to advise :) http://www.ford.co.uk/OwnerServices/VehicleServiceandRepair/VehicleRepair1/AccidentRepair?fullsite=true Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  6. Ford Focus Mk1 Common Problems Thread

Pretty sure mine has some of those problems. Would love to get a quick guide on how to remedy them... The interior boot release doesn't work and my fob doesn't either so it's a pain to unlock the boot without the key. I'll be getting a new fob soon so hopefully shouldn't be much more of a pain but I wouldn't mind the interior boot release to work. Where can I find the lock solenoids? Is it relatively easy? I'm a beginner to be honest. First car and all that. Some of the rear demister elements are slow to work which may mean are on thier way out. Is this a replacement rear screen job or is there something easier I can try? I think the rear bushes are perishing but I'll be getting my mechanic to do those for its MOT in Sept 2017. Also above the 'cluster' is mentioned. The EML keeps coming on allbeit it is faded, and not a full light and only does it when it's cold which would maybe indicate an electrical issue rather than an Engine Management one. 7. Help please

I've a 2003 1.6 Focus and mine hisses a little when you turn the car off. You hear the engine settle and the a 'hiss' similar to a dump valve sound. Had everything checked for leaks but couldn't find anything. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  8. Focus engine will not turn off

Nah that seems like the chap. Although I didn't hear the outcome of the diagnostics so that throws all sorts into the mix. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  9. Focus engine will not turn off

I heard about a similar issue with a guy with an Octavia VRS. His engine stuck on and cruise wouldn't click off at 70mph... it didn't end well for him and now Skoda are under scrutiny. Skoda advised it was a software update on that model, however that doesn't help matters. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. Front / Rear heated screens

That sounds sensible. Mine shuts off after a short while too. Considering its an 03, it's still pretty effective. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. Front / Rear heated screens

Hi Russ. The battery looks fairly new. Bought the car in September with 70k and had it serviced. It's been pretty cold these passed few days and it's started no problem, just when I use the front screen it seems to struggle a bit. I just wondered if it was common on this age of Focus. 12. Front / Rear heated screens

Just recently because of the cold weather... I've noticed when I put the front and rear screens on together it zaps a lot of power from the engine. The lights dim, and the car is sluggish. This is the first Ford I've owned and used in the cold weather. It's a 2003 1.6 Focus. Is this normal? Or could the battery be on its way out?? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  13. Ford Focus 1.6L 2001

Will do :) Hope it's not the timing belt and a simple fix. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  14. Ford Focus 1.6L 2001

If it's never had it changed in 150k miles then it needs it doing. I'd just get it checked out. If it a not that then happy days, but if it is and you've caught it early then that's a new engine you won't have to buy. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  15. Ford Focus 1.6L 2001

When I bought mine, it didn't have any oil on the dipstick either. Thought there was a leak, but turns out he'd never replaced it since he'd owned it. I put some oil in for the 60 mile drive back, and apart from needing a bearing, two new front brake pads, and a good service it hasn't put me wrong yet. Did the pads myself, along with a good service and got a mate to sort out the bearing so it wasn't an expensive deal luckily. I've since replaced some of the bulbs as the rear ones were wrong, and tripped the rear O/S cluster but I'm happy with it. I hope it's got a fair few thousand more miles init. The engines are pretty sound in the 1.6 of this age. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
