Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Fiesta MK7 Wrap

Hi all, I was thinking of getting my fiesta wrapped in 'satin dark grey', has anyone got a fiesta wrapped in this colour so I can get a better idea of what it may look like (tried googling but there are few good photos) also would anyone recommend another colour which may look better? The fiesta is currently white and I'm thinking of doing a full car DIY wrap (I know its a big project) any tips from an experienced wrapper would also be very useful and if anyone knows of a good site to get the vinyl from I would appreciate it Thanks in advance for any replies
  2. Fiesta MK7 key change

I've recently bought two new keys for my fiesta (not official ford keys) as i prefer flip up keys to the standard ford key. One of the keys i've bought has no internals and is designed so that the internals of my original key fits straight into it so the key only needs to be cut. If i had the key cut and switched the internals with my origional key, would i need to have it coded in any way or would there be no issues with the immobiliser? The second key i bought has internals but needs to be cut and coded to work with my car, would i be able to do the coding myself or would that require me having both original keys for my car? (I only have one) also what would you expect the cost of having a key cut ans coded be? Would it be cheaper or possible to do using a diagnostics tool? Thanks in advance for any help!
  3. Fiesta 2009 boot opens when driving

Thanks for posting this, i had the same issue and couldnt figure out what was causing it. the solution worked perfectly and saved me the £60 ford wanted to charge me
  4. Fiesta Mk7 power remaining on when key removed

after testing today i've found the power turns off roughly 5 minutes after the key is removed and doors are opened, i was mistakenly thinking the power was still on as i was unlocking the doors as i was approaching the car which re-enabled the power. Thank you for the help everyone
  5. Fiesta Mk7 power remaining on when key removed

@ThaiFiesta thank you that helps a lot, very good solution, do you think that 30 minutes at 14 volts will drain my cars battery or will i be okay to leave it in?
  6. I've just bought a 2010 ford fiesta and I'm in love with it but there is an issue with the power which I'm hoping can be fixed. In previous cars I've owned removing the key from the ignition would stop power in the car, the radio was the only thing which remained on. In the fiesta I have just bought when I remove the key power is still flowing to the USB port, cigarette lighter and the headlights remain on. Its something I will learn to get used to but if there is any way to change this it would be far more convenient as I have to remove the dashcam from my cigarette lighter port every time I turn the car off in the fear that it will drain all the power. At first I presumed it just remained on for a minute or two and that wouldn't be a big issue but last time I tested it the power remained on 15 minutes after the key was removed from the ignition (it didn't turn off after 15 minutes that just as much as I was willing to test) If anyone knows a way to turn this feature off or whether its an issue with my car I will be very thankful for any help
