  3. HI FISH4TEA I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOUR TROUBLE IS AS IT HAPPENED TO ME. TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM IS SIMPLE AND NO YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE STARTER FROM UNDERNEATH IT CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE TOP.!!! SO YOU REMOVE STARTER REMOVE SOLENOID OFF IT AND PLACE IN CONTAINER OF BRAKE DUST REMOVING FLUID BOUGHT FROM MOST MOTOR ACCESSORY STORES. LEAVE OVERNIGHT AND THEN REFIT!!!!!! NO MORE STARTING ISSUES.!! WHY ???? BECAUSE THE POSITION OF THE STARTER IS SUCH THAT IT ACCUMULATES CARBON DEPOSITS FROM THE CLUTCH AND THIS ACTS AS AN INSULATOR STOPPING THE CONTACTS FROM MAKING A GOOD CONNECTION. THE SOLENOID IS A SEALED UNIT OTHER THAN HAVING A PLUNGER OPENING TO WHICH THE FLUID SEEPS THROUGH AND CLEANS THE SOLENOID. GLAD TO HELP TRY THIS AND BE START TROUBLE FREE !!!!!!!!!!
  4. hi phil check your footwells under your carpets you may have a leak from the matrix pipes connected to your heater. dont just feel the carpets you must look below them as the water usually leaks below the soundproofing !!!! good luck
  5. i have a 2ltr tddi y reg 2001 plate and accquired a really annoying starting problem. scenario goes like this: insert key turn to lights, turn to start and nothing !! turn key off and try again , it starts. this can go for about 8 weeks then it's fine again. starts first time. then just as i think problem has somehow dissappeared it comes back. checked solenoid, starter loose connections on battery, ignition switch, changed battery in keyfob. NO SUCCESS, ANY IDEAS ANYONE ??? ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND MANAGED TO SORT IT, YOUR HELP WOULD BE WELCOME.
