Okay guys, i'm relatively comfortable with soldering and stuff, but i'm looking to replace EVERY LED in my focus (mk1 2.0 zetec) with blue ones...

It's just knowing what LED's to buy, and where from... Does anyone have any recommendations or tips?

Engine Swap

What's the best engine I can fit in a Focus MK1 as I'm thinking of just running this 1.4 16V till it seizes which won't be too long away as it's burning oil at a fast pace, I was thinking of a 2.5 T5 Turbo engine from a ST or a RS engine (If it's not the same) if I can I'll drop the engine in and then wait a few months to see if it's fine and try and Rear drive it cause I know the ST engine's you can Rear drive if you buy a Volvo box as the T5 Turbo is from a Volvo anyway, so that's what I've been told, anyone offering to shed a little light on this?

Best Way To Clean A Car

I know this probably sounds like a really daft question, however, we have just had new cars in our house (my wife has a Seat Mii and I have a Ford Fiesta). Having always had fairly old cars, we've never been too fussy with regards to cleaning the car so have just used bucket and sponge, etc.

However, now we have new cars, we want to take great care of them and make sure we don't end up scratching the cars so I would really like to get some advice about the best way to clean the car without ending up with millions of tiny scratches all over the car.

The cars both have paint protection on so don't know if that makes any difference but are there any specific cloth/sponges we should use that are less likely to scratch the car? Any specific shampoo's?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

Auto Wipers Problem

Hi Guys,

Need some advice with my Fiesta. I have a 2008 (08 Plate) MK6 Fiesta Ghia TDCi. There's a problem with my Auto wiper system where by if I click the stalk up one click to Auto/Intermittent it will activate the wiper blades up but then they stop half way through the cycle at the top of the windscreen but won't return to the bottom. But they will automatically return to the bottom to start a new cycles about 20 seconds later but then stop at the top again and so on.If i need to return them to the home position I have to pull and hold the stalk down til they return then let go... VERY annoying if i'm on the motorway and it's spitting with rain. But if the Auto wipers start doing a more regular rhythm i.e the program above intermittent they will work absolutely fine and you'd never know there was a problem and that's the same with any other program if I push the stalk all the way up to full power rapid wipe. It's very frustrating problem but can't work out what the issue is... I thought it could be my wiper blades sticking to the windscreen and then it just stopping so 2 days ago I bought brand new blades as they needed it anyway as old one were all frayed and split but it is still having the problem on the intermittent wipe... I have pretty much zero knowledge with car repairs or troubleshooting but I don't think it will be a motor program as it's working fine on all the other programs. I'm not sure if its like something as simple as a fuse or if I have to replace one of those black relay thingys somewhere!

Please could anybody kind enough have a stab at this as I'm useless and can't afford to go to a garage and pay through the nose for them to investigate lol!

Kindest Regards James!!

Blower Issue! Blows Hot In Foot Well But Only Warm On Window And Full On Blower. Whyyy?

I have an 07 Zetec S petrol 1.6.

Having issue with the blowers! When I use the blower that faces you, the ones that there are about 4 of the temperature is only just warm. You cannot notice it in the car unless you put your hand right next to it. However when I change the dial to the heater in the foot well but it is infact very warm (when on highest temp for both).

Why is this and how do I fix it?

I think there must be some internal flap or something that is not doing its job but I'm hoping someone here will have an idea + a solution!

Need A Bit Of Advice..

Hiya!

I'm hopefully going to view a 60 plate Ford Fiesta Titanium with full dress up kit and several extras.

I currently drive a 1.0 Peugeot 107 so it a lovely upgrade. I am however worrying about the fuel. At present I use £20 a week which gets me 200ish miles. The guy that's selling the car has said it's about 45ish mpg and £20/£25 gets half a tank and runs for 180 miles? Is this right?

I don't want to spend all this money to regret it if fuel is going to kill me! I love the car but I need some honest help from the people that know! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance x

2013 Fiesta Zetec Sub Install

Hi all,

I had a 15 inch JBL subwoofer which I installed in my previous fiesta... and what a hell of a job! I used a couple of guides that I found on this forum which REALLY helped (and when I say really helped, I mean they actually allowed me to do it... without them I wouldn't have even tried.).

Anyway, i've now got a 2013 shape Fiesta Zetec, and although the audio is good, i'd love the sub back!

I've decided to tackle this in a completely different way, and I was wondering if anyone has done this method before, or if it would be helpful for the forum if I made and shared a guide?

My plan is to NOT touch the headunit at all, as this was the most difficult part and I atually ended up scratching some plastic last time in a struggle to snap the headunit assembly out.

The Line converter to go from speaker level to low line out level will now be attached to the REAR speakers, which will be much much easier than pulling the head unit apart. I will then search around in the rear wiring loom for a switched live to use as the remote for the amp, i'm sure there will be one somewhere and if not i'll run a cable from the fusebox.

As for the +12V I will be running a fused cable through the bulkhead to the battery and connect it to one of the spare terminals. There's probably a feed suitable somewhere near the fusebox, but as it's quite a high wattage amplifier i'd rather be safe than sorry.

Anyway, if all goes to plan in the next couple of weeks i'll have a sub installed without having to touch the head unit!

Anyone had any experience with doing this, and would anyone appreciate a guide?

Thanks!

After various visits to browse this forum i've finally decided to sign up so I can post

I used to drive a 62 plate Frozen White fiesta Zetec, but it unfortunately met a watery end with some severe flood damage (Category B write off) with £9.6k's worth of damage done apparently...

After months of waiting I finally got my new car last Tuesday, a 2013 Fiesta Zetec, also in Frozen White. Really loving it so far, even better than my last one! Both were only 1.25 but this is ample for me currently, and I've got my eye on a Titanium X for 2015

I hope to be fairly active on here maybe even attend some meets in the Essex area in future!

Back Box Help

Hi there,

So I was thinking of putting a different back box on my fiesta to give it more of a rumble. Two things... I know I should do it properly and change the whole system but tbh I don't think it's worth the hassle since looking to change to an ST next year ... 2nd I have a k&n induction fitted which gives great sound from the front but I want a rumble from the rear too. I don't want anything too big or to loud? Been having a look around but not sure on which one .. Any suggestions ? Not looking for to pricey either?

Plus any instal guides? I have a rough idea but not 100 % with this car?

Once again any help is much appreciate !

Passenger Door Won't Unlock With Remote Fob

Hi FOC,

First post on the forum with an issue that I hope someone may be able to help with:

I am able to lock my S-Max with the remote fob by double clicking and all the central locking latches on all 4 doors move to the locked position. However, when I activate the fob to unlock (1 x click), the passenger door latch fails to unlock and I have to lean across from the drivers seat to unlock the door manually.

I have taken the passenger door panel off and taken a look - the catenary wire running from the latch to the lock works ok when I operate the lock manually and I can see the white paddle at the lock operate. I thought at first that this may be sticking so I fired in some WD40 to see if that did the trick, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas before I get to the point of stripping out the lock and taking a look at that?

Regards
