Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Alloy Wheels Bloom/ Corrosion

After a service done in a Ford dealer a bloom/corrosion developed on my alloy wheels which has grown steadily worse. Is there any cure or fix for this?
  2. Anyone need a spare alloy before it goes on flea bay its has very tiny flat spot see the pic it will make a perfect spare
  3. Anybody had problems with the lacquer flaking off their wheels ? Car is just over 2 years old and its on every wheel. Dealer would no touch it under warranty.....wear and tear etc ect and said the wheels could have been repainted after I'd bought it.
  4. Hi all hope you are all well, have a look at these and tell me what you think. My 2010 MK7 Fiesta Titanium was collected by ford for its second service on Thursday 31st Jan and one of the wheels came back looking like this. It appears the wheel has been kerbed slightly, and I am assuming a good blasting from the jet wash they use to clean the vehicles after service has stripped the paint off. What concerns me is that these are supposed to be Alloy Wheels, but if you look where the paint has peeled off it appears to be a white shiny plastic/resin coated in a paint to make it look like a solid alloy wheel. Now firstly I understand what an alloy wheel is, and it is cast using various alloys, and is solid alloy throughout, and by default they are grey in colour and usually lacquer coated to make them shiny. If they get kerbed they would generally gouge the alloy metal and maybe the lacquer coating would flake after time and that would be it and not have paint coming off Secondly I was sold this car I was led to believe it had alloy wheels, and by the look of them I assumed it had. Has anybody had similar problems happen to them, and is it the case that these are not true alloy wheels but painted plastic. I welcome your thoughts and comments and any correction to my thoughts above before I go back to ford threatening them with trading standards. Cheers
  5. Alloy Wheel Nut / Cover Loose

Hi, My Fiesta has come back from the garage and the wheel nut covers now seem loose. One you could pull off. Made me think these must be pieces of metal covers over the actual nut. Do these just push on in a certain way? I thought it was all one nut, however now seem like it is a cover over the nut which is underneath it. This is mk7 Fiesta with standard alloys fitted. Any help would be grateful. I can't see why the garage has removed these caps / covers in the first place.
