  1. Hello, I've just purchased a Ford Ka 2011 and it has just a USB port, no aux. When I connect my iPod I have no control over it as the screen shows the connected imagE. Is there anything I can buy, an adapter perhaps, so that I can connect my iPod and have control over the screen so I can choose what I want to play?
  2. Newbie seeking serious help!

Hi Guys, Brand new to the forum so please be patient with me if I am being dumb here! I've got a Focus Titanium X Mk3.5 with Sync 2 system, which I really love, but the only thing letting it down is the audio quality! Can anyone tell me how easy it would be to fit new speakers and add a sub to the vehicle? At the minute I am just trying to find out if it can be done by myself, or if it's something I need to take to a professional. I have a budget of £500 but I really want to get some decent kit for my money, if I have to pay for someone to fit it I don't mind but I don't want to be left with no money to buy my kit! Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Daniel
  3. Hello all, I am having problems with the AUX on my fiesta. We bought it second hand and the USB/AUX were not working. I fixed the USB, turned out the fuse was blown and the power outlet was in not too good shape... So I replaced the fuse and the power outlet for a new original Ford piece. Now the power outlet works, and so the USB I plugged in. The AUX, however... the console shows me the Line In message, but when I plug it to my phone playing music though different sources, it just won´t play the audio on the car speakers. The cable is good, I bought a new one and it does work. The fuses are okay, the AUX port I have inspected and it looks okay as well. Everything works but that.... if it helps, the voice command doesn´t work and neither the cruise control (but I don´t care much about the last). It is a Fiesta 1.25 from 2010. Do you have any idea what might be causing it? I´ve looked all over but none else seems to have this problem... my Bluetooth seems to work, it find the phone and I can access the call list ad contact from the car and so on. It is simply the AUX play... also played with volumes and audio settings, everything is as it should be. just the thing won´t play on the car speakers!
  4. Hello forum members :) I'm a new driver and just recently bought a new Ford KA Zetec 2015 model. Really loving the car, perfect for city driving. My only problem is the Ford Audio system is really frustrating to use - not sure if other people have found this? There are so many different versions and finding information and support has been really tricky. I looked at the audio system before buying the car and made sure it had Bluetooth so I could stream audio directly from my android phone. For anyone with a bluetooth speaker this is normally a pretty simple thing to do. Alas, all I can do is precariously play mp3 files that are stored on the phone as a usb device or cd by plugging in over the usb. On the specifications for the car it clearly states "using a Bluetooth connection, you can also stream music wirelessly from a smartphone or mp3 player to your car radio". But how? There are no instructions on how to do this in the manual. I am close to getting a radio transmitter! Which is something you might expect to have to do in an old car, not a new model with Bluetooth. Any suggestions would be really useful to myself and maybe others as well. I have tried: 1/ I have connected to the cars FORD AUDIO bluetooth using the system menu, which is navigated by talking to Miss Ford. 2/ I can make calls over the Bluetooth easy once connected so it is working. 3/ When connected over the blutooth I have tried pressing the CD button (which changes the source) but it says NO SRC, unless I'm connected over usb at which point it says MEDIA. 4/ When connected over MEDIA I have tried playing Spotify but it simply does not work, Media only let's me play existing MP3's. 5/ I have tried all the system menus for the Media Player but none of them are settings for connecting directly in order to stream music. Thanks :D :D
  5. Rear speakers dead

Focus C-Max 2006. Owned for a couple of years now, and the rear speakers have never worked - I assumed they were just missing due to a low spec car. But I took the door card off last week and found a speaker there (with wiring as an added bonus too!). So I assumed there was a problem at the head unit ... just managed to get the CD6000 out (a task in itself) but all the wiring shown in the Haynes manual to the rear speakers is present and correct (Gy, Wh, Gy/Wh and Wh/Vt). Reading elsewhere I wonder if the rears have blown, but of course I didn't check the impedance while the door card was off ... I just assumed since both were dead it was something more systemic than both of them having just broken. Any suggestions? Is my next step to get the door card off again and test there or is there something else to try first?
  6. I Purchased my first CAT D car yesterday and am very happy with it. Just 48,000 on clock and engine seems to be great. I have a couple of *hopefully minor* things I would like to clear up. (trying to play music through bluetooth) 1. Bluetooth Audio - From what I have read, it seems to be a complicated subject and strange. My car does not have USB (from what I can see) therefore I can not perform a software updatee unless their is another way around this? But what I am confused about is the fact the menu system seems to have the Bluetooth configuration built in ? I have an option from MENU > AUDIO > BLUETOOTH . At this point I get No Audio Device and my only option is to turn off my BT. My phone is already connected through Bluetooth and works great on calls . but just not on my audio. Is their something I am missing? I have also ready up a possible 2nd USB maybe in globe compartment, Whether or not if it just not possible. Hopefully someone can help me out. I have also attached some photo's of the Menu. 2. If I press my Clutch when my engine is running their seems to be 2 different noises. If the clutch is out it seems to be ( a little louder) when I dip the clitch in the noise seems to go away. I'm sure I have had this on other car's too, but doesn't anyone know if this is an issue with the car? It drive's flawlessly in all 5 gears. Regards Craig
  7. HELP! AUX BROKEN.

Hello people, I'm new to this. So I'm unsure if I am posting in the right area. I have recently purchased a Ford Mondeo 2010 MK4 model and was wanting to use the aux that is in the glove box, but unfortunately the previous owner has broken his jack off in the port. I tried using a magnetic screwdriver to try pull it out but that did not work and I have tried many youtube video ideas, but all ultimately have failed. So what I was wanting to ask, because I cannot seem to find the answer anywhere online is how do I take the glove box out to examine the extent of the damage to the aux port/do I even need to remove the glove box. Can anybody please help!!!???
  8. Hello peoples of the Ford Owners Club! I have a 2009 Focus Zetec and I'm keen to upgrade the stock audio system. My wants are only to add some subs (underseat - gotta save that boot space) and some new front door speakers. After some deliberation with many audio fitters I've been told that the Focus is incapable of housing an underseat subwoofer due to the limited space. It seems the Kenwood subs (links below) are the thinnest around (70mm) and they still catch on the seat when it moves. Now feel free to absolutely roast me but I have to ask: Is there anything wrong with placing it sideways with velcro (as per) onto the air vents under the seat. Not blocking the vents themselves of course, just resting on top. The cardboard model I made seems to fit fine and with room at the sides for the cabling. Before I buy two subwoofers though it would be good to know if this is a terrible idea first of all. Anyone else with similar upgrade experience to the focus? Any help would be much appreciated. :) Michael https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-ksc-sw11_p-31239.htm https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-ksc-sw01_p-25624.htm
  9. Hi, I have a 2011 mk3 1.6 125 EURO5 Zetec 5 door, 5spd manual hatchback Focus with Ford Audio, and it's developed a high pitched whine when in AUX mode. Being fobbed off by the dealer with excuses such as it's not fully compatible with my iPhone. Thing is that the noise is apparent even without a phone being connected. Can anyone with the same or similar model please do a quick test for me? Just switch to AUX mode with nothing connected and turn the volume up above half way and let me know if you can hear a high-pitched noise? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi guys, Can someone please help with this issue, i'm using an iPhone 6 via USB to play music through the car, sometimes when i connect it, bang straight on and fine, no issues and can control everything fine from the steering wheel but other times i connect my phone... NOTHING, jack *****, can disconnect it, turn the car off then on again turn the phone off and on again and nout NADA. This is single handedly one of THE most annoying issues I've ever had with a car, considering when i'm in the car i'm kind of in a hurry to be somewhere, not wanting to sit there ***** about with a lead for twenty minutes haha. PLEASE HELP
  11. Hi gang, I recently went about replacing my stock front speakers in my MK2 (Pre-facelift) as they had both blown, with great success: Finally Have Working Speakers! I then decided to see what was happening in the rear (I know what you're thinking), and discovered that there were no speakers or wiring. Off I go to Halfords and pick up some lovely FLI 5x7 Coaxial speakers, bulb connectors, blade connectors and 8m of speaker cable. Several hours later and everything is sorted, all speakers working perfectly, and as far as I was concerned, wired and connected up "perfectly", happy chappy. So today I head off to work and after about 25 minutes all sound cuts out, when I park up, only the right front speaker was working and it sounded like a whisper at max volume. After work I checked the fuse, which was undamaged, hopped back in the car, plugged in the radio code and hey presto! Everything was working fine again! But pride comes before a fall, as after 20 minutes down the road, everything bar that right front speaker was out cold like Jose Aldo. I've run a few checks over the head unit and wires with a multi-meter, but I'm no pro, so I have no idea what I'm looking for. Has anyone had this issue before? Or any suggestions for how to fix it? Thanks in advance, Sam
  12. So after almost two years of having no sound in my Focus, I finally bit the bullet and decided to have a crack at getting the audio issues sorted! Initially I had a mobile auto electrician diagnose the vehicle and he decided the stock speakers were blown, so I took it upon my self to fit some new ones! I purchased a set of 6.5" coaxials from Amazon for £17 and set to taking the door card off. I drilled out the rivets hold the old cones in place, sawed off the old speakers and got the gorilla glue handy to reuse the old housing. After this dried I rewired the speakers, using the existing component lead and reattached to the door, a quick test and, success!! We have sound!! Pop riveted the housing back in, whacked the door card back on and, with less than 1mm clearance, the speakers sit perfectly!. Coupled with my new bluetooth/fm receiver I can blare the tunes once more! Small job, but proud all the same!
  13. Hi, my son has just bought his first car, a 2009 fiesta, studio 1.2. We've spotted that in the side of diver's footwell, next to the central console a 3 pin electrical connector is poking out a couple of inches. It's got two yellow & purple wires. See photo attached. I've trawled google but can't seem to find an explanation of what it's for. I wondered if it's an auxiliary connection to the stereo? Can anyone help explain this please?
  14. Backed my 23year old Granada out of the garage today for it's weekly check (its now off the road for the winter) and the radio is completely dead,it turns on,lights up but nothing is coming out of the speakers, put a cd in and the same thing "nothing ". I'm not even getting a crackle from the speakers, i suspect it could be the amplifier but don't know how to check if it is before i go and buy a new one, anyone got any ideas.
  15. Hi All, I have had my Mondeo 2.0TDCi Titanium, since March and I love it, but have only just noticed that the subwoofer in the boot which is part of the audio upgrade package only works with the rear speakers on. If you fade the sound towards the front of the car the sub gradually stops working. If the sound is faded all the way to the front then the sub doesn't work at all! I'm guessing the sub is wired into the rear speakers only, but that seems to be a very odd way to connect it, surely it should work all the time?? Has anyone else noticed this?. Any thoughts?? I've contacted Ford on Facebook but they say they can't tell me if this is how it should be or not! They said take it to my dealer but I don't want to waste my time if this is just how it is..
  16. Hi Gang, Figured I'd post my install as to be honest I loved making it and I think it came off pretty well. I'm a huge Marvel fan so even went so far as to use 1996 Uncanny X-Men in the design (same year as my car). Hope ya'll like it :D Thanks
  17. Was wondering if its possible to bypass the fuse box and wire straight from the battery to the radio. I would install a switch on the dash to turn it on off ect. Just wondering what i would need and if its possible. Reasoning for doing this is explained in my other post. Thanks
  18. Hi guys, I hope someone can help. I've got a 2011(61) fiesta Zetec which came from the factory with Bluetooth and Voice. I have since fitted the genuine Ford sat nav from a 2014 fiesta titanium. The screen looks great; radio works fine; sat nav is spot on. But, Voice no longer works; time doesn't display and Bluetooth will let people hear me but I cannot hear them. I have tried the system with 2 separate SYNC modules in place of the standard Bluetooth module but nothing helps. With a SYNC module plugged in I lose all radio reception (just get a segmented circle spinning). Occasionally it will say say 'SYNC CONNECTION ERROR' but mainly it won't let you access the SYNC menus at all. I took it to my local Fraud dealership in case it needed activating. They spent 90 minutes with it plugged in to then tell me they can't see the stereo set up at all on the VCM. They did promise to find out if the audio loom changed at anytime in production, although they doubted it had. They never got back to me. So, my questions are:- 1) did the audio loom change at anytime between my car being built in 2011 and the sat nav module date of 2014? 2) could this simply be a dodgy sat nav module? I bought the sat nav screen (which contains all the sat nav workings onboard), the fascia panel AND the silver radio/cd box that hides in the centre console from the same person so I know everything is matched between those components. (They were from his Fiesta that got rear-ended and written off) And yet, if I press PHONE it goes to radio and so does AUX. Is this a wiring difference or a fault? Any advice or guidance would be great. Please, no comments like "go back to the old stereo and use a Tom Tom". Yes, that would be an option but not one I want. I suffer with anxiety and have had portable sat navs die on me suddenly. That's why I have gone to the trouble and expense to try and fit the genuine Ford articles. I really hope someone help. If I could just get the Bluetooth and the clock working I'd be so happy. Cheers Andy
  19. Hi, I have a '64 focus and a few days ago SYNC stopped working with my phone. It's the original SYNC I believe - it's not touchscreen. Been having a look through these forums and tried: Re-syncing phone A different phone Performing master reset on SYNC within the settings Tried each of these a couple of times with no luck. The main symptoms are: Phone appears to connect, but when going to BT audio it comes up with phone disconnected pretty much straight away. It recognises when a call is incoming/outgoing, and also during a call it all appears normal on screen - but there is no audio in or out. I can't see any further suggestions in these forums other than the stuff I've tried - any suggestions anyone? Or, is it likely this will be a Ford job? It's still within it's 3 year warranty so it's not a big deal if this is the case... Thanks in advance all!
  20. Hello. Well. I have had my Fiesta now for 3 years, and it's been giving me strife in the past few months. First of all, I can no longer play music from my iPhone. It just keeps skipping tracks and never plays anything. But my main problem is that the USB input is sometimes reading an error "USB Device Not Supported" . I don't know why it does this. My memory stick is working right now, but if I plug it into the computer and put some new data on it, it will then be unable to read it next time I plug it into my Fiesta; it might take a couple of days until the system will be able to read it. I am using a 128GB stick. However, it is doing it with my 16GB stick and 8GB. I used to use a 32GB with zero problems. I formatted the sticks to FAT32. The only thing I can think of is a firmware update if it is still possible? I don't have SYNC or Bluetooth. My model is from 2012. Can anyone help me out? Thanks so much for reading. Jack
  21. Hope I'm posing this in the right forum but I'm looking to upgrade the standard Sat Nav CD player that comes with the 2010 Focus to something with DAB radio. Obviously I don't want to lose the sat nav feature so I need something which would fit which has both sat nav and DAB. I've googled a pic of the Sat Nav CD unit which I currently have. Any help much appreciated - please note, I have very little idea about car audio etc!
  22. So, new year and new upgrade plans. Just wanted to hear the thoughts of anyone who has these in their cars: 1. Focal Performance PS165 2 New: Focal Performance PS165FX Is the new material in the FX worth the price bump from the PS165. I have no way of hearing them myself in person and I can only rely on reviews off the internet. So far, no decent review on the FX but it did win some awards, so it can't be half bad. Also, I found this off Ebay and was wondering if it would fit my MK2.5 even though it is meant for the MK2: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-Mk2-Custom-Fit-MDF-10-Sub-Box-Subwoofer-Enclosure-Bass-/360623710681 Plan would be to get the sub enclosure and also get this JL Audio 10" sub to pair it up with: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JL-Audio-10w0v3-4-10-Inch-25cm-300-Watts-4-ohm-Car-Sub-Subwoofer-/181082630165?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2a295da815 Any suggestions regarding front speakers and 10" sub woofers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

  24. Hi, I am new to this forum but thought I would see if anyone else has noticed an odd setup with the Sony/Ford audio in the 2016 Mondeo? I have had the car, a Mondeo 2.0TDCi Titanium, since March and I love it, but have only just noticed that the subwoofer in the boot which is part of the audio upgrade package only works with the rear speakers on. If you fade the sound towards the front of the car the sub gradually stops working. If the sound is faded all the way to the front then the sub doesn't work at all! I'm guessing the sub is wired into the rear speakers only, but that seems to be a very odd way to connect it, surely it should work all the time?? I've managed to check this in a similar car and that was the same. Any thoughts??
  25. Hi, i have a 2009 fiesta, on the sync website it says my car and phone should support bluetooth audio playback. I've paired my phone and the phone calls work perfect but no music will play through the stereo. On my phone the track is playing and says its playing through 'Ford Audio' but no sound. Sometimes when I plug it in through the aux lead it will start playing then stop, almost like the bluetooth is overriding the aux connection. I've tried repairing my phone and 4 other phones to see if it was a problem with mine but it still doesn't work. I've checked the fuses aren't blown and disconnected the battery. Don't know if I'm barking up the wrong tree but it seems like it wants to work but won't. If anyone has any know-how it'd be much appreciated, thanks :)
