Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Fiesta Clunk?

Hi, I have a fiesta mk6 1.25 and when I turn my car with full lock on at slow speeds there is this large clunk in left front side and when i go to take lock off it clunks again in the same place. I think it's the Cv joint.. thanks
  2. Hi all I found a puddle of oil and not sure where its coming from. I dont think its from engine. Oil looks quite clean. I think it might be either from CV joint or gearbox. See picture Anyone have any ideas or had similar issues? Thanks Colin
  3. Hello, Well I'm new to this forum so I may as well start with what has been causing me stress the past year... About a year ago I started noticing a knock coming from the front of my car when doing manouvers, so if I reverse with a steering lock (whether it's fully over or just half turned) I get a knock. This is a metallic one, sometimes dulled down as if under water. Things I've found worn and been replaced so far are; - o/f/s Driveshaft inc CV joint - Central lower engine mount - Spring (Broken) - Shockers (happened with spring) Things to note; - No play in n/s Driveshaft or joint - All bolts to subframe are tight - No play in any bushes - Steering has no play From making various notes about when the knock happens It's quite possibly pointing towards the diff but is there a way to check? Can't get the noise when the car is on the ramp. When one wheel is turned the other doesn't move or even attempt to but is that normal with an open diff? Thanks for reading and I hope someone can help.
  4. Coloured Cv Boots

Does anyone know where I can purchase coloured CV Boots?
  5. Cv Joint Failure?

HI I recently noticed that my focus was making a clunking noise the second i turned into a right hand corner, I assumed that this was a track rod end and I'd get round to changing it soon. But when checking the wheel bearing on the driver side... which is also knackered. I thought i'd check the passenger side. only to be greeted by a regular clunking noise, sounding like its coming from inside the engine bay. I ruled out the gearbox because surely it would make the noise regardless of which wheel is spun, its not the wheel bearing. Could it potentially be a diff bearing? though again it sounds nothing like bearing. And one last thing it seems to improve when slowing down ie load on the driveshafts is reversed. I'm new to the car so maybe someone more experienced with focuses (foci?) than me knows better. Car is a 2000 mk1 1.8 petrol Thanks :)
