  1. Heres the 10" HD Flip down roof monitor with built in DVD player, its an Xtrons CR108HD : Link to supplier: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331346924847?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Most Installation videos on YouTube will show cutting a large hole in the roof lining like this:😯 This in my opinion weakens the structure of the roof lining,😐 The unit I've purchased has a backing plate to fit inside the roof lining, I wont cut out the roof lining to fit it in there, Instead I'll take an additional 20 minutes of my time⌚to remove the roof lining which I will show you how to do aswell, Line up the four M6 holes and drill them out in the centre of the roof lining to grip the screen unit to the plate o the opposite side of the roof lining no need to cut a huge hole. Just a single 19mm hole then to route the cables through. The Xtrons CR108HD comes with an 19mm oval badge embedded in the centre of the screen backing, Its nice but when fitting it in to a ford you know its gotta be changed for a custom print blue oval :) Instantly looks like a factory fitted flip down monitor Limited Edition. An additional nice touch from Xtrons is this unit has a built in blue ambient light which illuminates on 3 different levels of light, The blue ambient can also be kept switched on/off when monitor is active or on standby It also features a beautiful 6000kelvin white courtesy light which can work on demand aswell as in time with your existing courtesy lights. Moving on now shopping list for this Guide is as follows: 3 Metre RCA Extension cable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351351393773 15 Amp Cable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180513876557 10 Amp Cable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170680456683 Mini Blade PiggyBack Fuse Adaptor: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400757943104 12V Rocker Switch: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180734927009 PVC insulating tape: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180483578968 M6 Penny Washers: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180971712910 Crimp ring terminals Male crimp spade terminals: Insulated female crimp spade terminals: M6 x 20 counter sunk bolts: M6 nuts: The main power source wiring in this guide is slightly different to all the others i created as it piggybacks off previous modifications, In all other guides I've spliced in to factory looms However i will explain how to install it in to a focus with no previous modifications done to it, Same principles just requires a bit more cable to reach the battery in the engine bay rather than a capacitor inside the boot compartment.
  2. Hi Guys, First post! Bought a 2003 Fusion + 1.4 TDCi yesterday and the factory fitted Ford "7500" DVD player and screen are showing no signs of life at all. I had a look at the fuses but the manual isn't clear about which fuse could be the culprit. Anyone have an idea on why there would be no power to it at all or somethings I should be testing to try and find the fault. Also if someone knows the fuse number that'd be ace. New to all this fancy electronics lark built into the ceiling haha. Cheers, Dan
  3. Dvd Sat Nav System

Hi All, I am actually new in this forum. and also a new driver. my first car is ford focus which is old 2005 model. I want to upgrade my system so that built in sat nav, reverse camera, dvd, Bluetooth etc modern facility can get from the car. I know this is old and may be not a wise decision many can say, but as I want to run this car for next couple of years and I thought rather than buying a separate sat nav, why not buy a built in sat nav and others. btw, now I am confused which system I should buy and how they are reliable. I found Erisin ES1131F 7" HD touchscreen. Anybody have any idea about this system ? or any other better system for this car ? I will be very grateful, if you share your experience. thanks in advanced. Zaki
  4. Hi, I'm new to the forum so not sure if this topic has come up before. I've recently bought a 2008 Titanium X Mondeo with built in sat nav. I'm trying to update the DVD as it is still from 2008. The system uses a Blaupunkt DVD. I've been quoted two different prices from two different Evans Halshaw dealerships. One wanted £105 and the other wanted over £350. Ford have said its up to the individual dealers how much they want to charge! Can anyone give me any advice as to where the best place is to get an updated DVD and an idea how much it should cost. Many thanks Mick
  5. Bought a new Ford Fusion 7500 dvd player on Ebay which came complete with a new mounting plate. Bought the 6 bolts and 2 torx fittings required to mount plate as shown on Ford Parts department computer to roof of my Fusion. Finally bought the loom that plus into dvd player and returns to the car loom. Took off headliner tonight to find there is NO place to mount or attach mounting plate(mine is the face lift 2006 model) all thats there is the roof skin and 2 support bars.................. ARGH Also my DVD player loom which I bought plugs into the 7500 dvd then as shows in Ford Parts dept that it plugs into a loom next to the drivers side rear light............. There is nothing there...............ARGH Car is in bits......... Nothing mounted....... Nothing plugs in...... Can anyone help or shed any light at all? Any information greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ally
  6. Hi guys, I have a 2006 Fiesta Zetec S and I was wondering how hard it is to install a custom DVD/GPS unit to replace the existing unit like the following: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/In-CAR-DVD-GPS-Sat-Nav-For-Ford-Focus-Galaxy-Fiesta-S-Max-C-Max-Fusion-Transit-/231084102968?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_GPSSystems_GPSSystems&hash=item35cdaf9538 The guide on how to remove the existing unit is relatively simple, but that model unit in the link above looks like it has 100x the cables that the original has. And I can't seem to find any guide on the net that shows you how to install it. Any ideas? Much appreciated. Charlie.
  7. Dvd Headrest

I have a 2005 Ford Focus Cmax and am thinking of purchasing DVD headrest players from eBay to keep the kids quiet. The fitting involves running cables through the seats. Has anyone done this as I was wondering if the seat backs pop off or do I need to feed cables down the seats with a wire puller. Any advice would be gratefully received.....
  8. Headrest Dvd Lcd Screen

All, I have a 2009 SMAX which has a Ford DVD player installed with LCD screens in the headrests. One of the screens on the passenger side has been damaged and will only display 'fuzzy lines'. Ford Main dealer is quoting me £1,100 to repair as it comes as a whole unit !!! I'd like to replace, however is their a cheaper option (such as just replacing the screen) ? If so, where can I get the screen and how do I install ? This was a ford fitted option and I want to replace 'like for like' and hence do not want cheap 'alternative' screens. Any help appreciated. Thanks Gregg.
