Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Afternoon Everyone, New to the forum, and looking for some advice and/or guidance. I own a 2006 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI and the warning light (the one shaped like a cog) comes on and the car goes into limp mode and tells me to check the manual. I have Run a diagnostic check with a cunsumer level diagnostic tool and no codes are available. Starts again fine, no smoke or noise that would indicate there is an issue and no warning light. All fluids are at the correct levels and the car is regularly serviced. Lots of similar topics say it could be the EGR valve, but it's not idling badly and I would assume it would put up a code. I was thinking it could be the radiator; the warning light comes mainly when engine is at Temperature and I'm in slow moving or stationary traffic. I've got the car to temp and turned on the A/C but the radiator fan doesn't come on. Could this be the issue and the engine is 'protecting' itself from overheating? Any one experienced this sort of issue, and can help me resolved this. Your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  2. Ford super 2 problem

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and diagnostic software/equipment. I've installed the software that came with my super 2. It's quite good except I don't understand half of it. I have however found that it's throwing codes out for the egr valve. I bought the diagnostic as the connect 1.8 tdci I just bought seems very poor on power, my 1.3cdti combo would kick the crap outta it!!!! Would a faulty egr cause it to be slow?? It's almost like their is no turbo on it. I've no engine man light on so went down the super 2 route. Any ideas on what the problem could be and does anyone know how to find instructions on how to use the super 2? Hope someone can help and thanks guys. :)
  3. Hi, This morning I noticed that my engine management light lit up on my dash, there's no noise issues, no misfiring... Car seems to be working like normal to be honest! I ran the ford self diagnostic test and it told me that there were no DTCs, now as I understand it the DTCs are the fault codes are they not? So I was just wondering if anyone knew why the engine management light would come on if there aren't any faults? My local garage want to charge me 60 quid to run a diagnostic, which I don't fancy doing if there isn't anything wrong with my car... I considered purchasing a diagnostic tool to reset the light but not sure if this would be wise? I have a ford fiesta mk6, 58 plate. Any suggestions/input would be much appreciated. Martin
  4. Hi all Looking for advice on an issue I'm facing with my 10 plate petrol focus. My partner reported to me that the car was cutting out when approaching junctions and cornering however this hadn't happened to me, after a bit of covert observations I determined that she takes said corners with the clutch pressed and not in gear, I do not as a general rule of thumb. After a while I managed to replicate it and became more aware of the idle speeds dipping when sat on the drive or at junctions. Its since been through an MOT and had an intermediate service. So my question is, short of taking it in for diagnostics (not priced up yet) or re teaching my partner how to drive (she swears she was taught that way and passed?) What action can I take to resolve it? I have recorded a 30 second video that I can upload to YouTube and link here if needed
  5. Hi, ok my car Focus TDDi 52 would run fine, the odd morning it would start, then 10 seconds later revs drop then cut out - this happened about 3 times - weeks apart. The car would pretty much start fine straight after and no probs. Then this happened again but would not start up and hasn't since. I got a F - Super 2 and these are the results. I admit I'am very amateur at mechanics but can and have fixed cars before. I'm fairly skint so if you guys could share any of your knowledge that could fix this, I would really appreciate it. Cheers in advance.
