Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi, First time in this forum So here's the issue: Ever since updating to IOS11 on my iPhone, the bluetooth between the phone and my fiesta's stereo is absolutely horrendous! It pops and crackles like a vinyl record, its like having a ***** bowl of Rice Crispies in the back! Both with music and phonecalls. It's driving me up the wall, so I called Apple (who blame Ford,), called Ford (who blames Apple). It's the same for my friend who owns a similar year Fiesta and a new iPhone. So my advice is do not update your phone, or do not buy a '10 model fiesta.
  2. Hi all. My name is Nikola, I am from Croatia. Ford lover. I saw this forum on internet and had to join (found some nice tips for my car). My car is Focus mk2 1.6tdci. Little modified. Later I will introduce my car and write all modifications. Regards
  3. Hello to everyone, This is my first post to this forum, sorry for mistakes(I'm Spanish), and sorry if I had anything to do previously to post the first post... I've just bought the new Ford Fiesta ST-Line, with EcoBoost 1.0T engine (100cv/HP), and I was thinking what is the difference between the 100HP, 125HP and 140HP engines, maybe are exactly the same, but only with limitations at the ECU? With different map? If any of you have information about these engines and also if these are exactly the same as the Mk7 I will be pleased to read you, THANKS! Also, if you have a Ford fiesta mk8 with 125 or 140HP, and can take a photo of your engine to compare with mine, it will be great. Thanks to everyone.

  6. This is a re-post of my [now deleted] post on the General chat, titled: 'I'm driving around the world/Social media advice needed' from January 11th 2018. Due to lackadaisical typing I noticed several typos I couldn't go back and edit and before the post gained any more views I figured it would be best to re-post and move category. Instagram: @drive_further Facebook page: drive_further My story so far: I write this in part as you guys may be interested in my achievements which I haven't really publicised - for no other reason than the fact I'm travelling for my own personal experience. In 2016 I left England on what so far has been a 2 year road trip across the northern hemisphere (with a brief visit to west-coast America whilst I applied for Central Asian visas) in my 2002 Ford Fiesta. I've driven to date over 25,000 miles and explored countries such as Kosovo, Bosnia, Albania, Russia, Georgia ... In late 2016 I visited the northern Russian city of Murmansk experiencing temperatures as low as -22 and my car was fine! In the coming days I will cross the Ural river, the geographical feature separating Asia and Europe; and and arrive for the first time in the continent of Asia. I've severely neglected social media ad wasn't sure how best to 'advertise' my travels, I simply thought someone may be interested. I'm not looking for fame, simply, I have accumulated so many interesting stories, both car and non car related, along with tens of thousands of DSLR photos and 'car selfies.' I just thought as my story is perhaps unusual and in a Ford Fiesta someone/you all may be interested.
  7. Just received an order I placed from DMB Graphics for some wing badges (image attached) to go in the triangular groove on the doors. Has anyone fitted these before and how did they go about it? Just looking for tips and tricks, plan on cleaning the car this weekend, warming the backing paper the stickers are currently applied too, and placing in the groove? Any tips on where these should be placed in the groove, or any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Attached an image of a pic from Instagram of a car that has them applied to show the desired look!
  8. Hello guys! I've come across a slight issue with my new Crossover pipe from R-Sport. It seems there is a breather pipe of some sort which connects to the right hand side of the new crossover pipe as seen in the picture and when it came to fitting it, this hose will kink badly, blocking all air from passing through. This obviously in turn will put the car straight into limp mode. I've tried all sort of ways of connecting this hose but it just seems to bend and kink. Has anyone else had this issue and managed to overcome this? I really don't want it to be the case of £100 wasted. Any help will be brilliant, thanks.
  9. Hello all, I have been driving a Ford Focus Estate 1.5L Diesel 2016 Model for work for just under a year. Loved driving it and it got me looking into Fords for my own personal car. I recently purchased a Mk4 Ford Mondeo Zetec 1.6L TDCi Econetic hatchback (2012) in Midnight Sky colour and very much enjoying driving it. Looking forward to hopefully learn a lot from this forum about Fords, and cars in general.
  10. Hello everyone, I saw someone selling a center console with two cup holders online and was curious if it's hard to make. I'm cheap and don't want to spend £50 on something if it isn't difficult to make myself. Any tips would be great.
  11. My reverse lights were lighted when driving forward. Before I had the chance to find out what's wrong they faded forever. Model: Ford S-Max I checked following: Reverse switch (gearbox): works fine Power on connector: 12V Connecting both poles of the connector did not help; I expected the lights to light up (like it worked in every old car) Could not find any fuse for the reverse lights Both lights are working when checked on their own The garage told me there is a light module in the car (IC) and no fuse. Sounds costly. They didn't want to tell me where I can find that module...171227_Elektraschema_SMAX27122017.pdf Who has similar experience and maybe the solution to this problem? Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi All Can anyone help me please? My central console has given up the ghost and I'm not sure why... I left my car parked one day in the morning with everything working fine. Then when I went to go home in the evening it just hasn't worked and hasn't since! Thanks

  14. Gear box issue?

Recently been having an issue with my Ford Fiesta. Sometimes when driving it won’t go into gear or is really stiff to get into gear. I found that the issue occurs mostly when going into first gear. Found that when going through the gears with the engine off it doesn’t stick as much as when driving. Does anyone have any idea what the issue maybe?

  18. So I have a late 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium X which we're very happy about apart from the £295 quote for third service. But that's another story. So my dealer invited me to the MK8 launch which my kids enjoyed (free Ice Cream) but I have to say I was quite underwhelmed by the car. I just think the front styling boring although the new LED lights are cool at night. The back is bland, just like squashed CMAX. Side is like a MK7.5. OK, the interior is a huge step up and I test drove the car and, well it drove like my car which is class leading as we all know so all good there. Apart from one thing which was the move of the Cruise Control from the right hand side to the left which I hated. My dealer obviously wanting a sale told me to come in and have a look at the new ST-Line. And again... meh, what the have done with the ST-Line really hasn't made the car much more interesting to me. Look, I know it's a great car and if you have bought a MK8 I wish you well. But unless the Vignale or ST looks a lot more interesting I really don't think I'll get one, I'll stick with the MK7.5 or get a Focus instead. I will stick with Ford anyway as I get Privilege discount. If you look at my car history I am more of a heart than head guy lately when it comes to cars, and my heart isn't in the MK8. Jonathan
  19. Hi, I've got a mk7 Fiesta and want to fit LED halo rings onto the fog surrounds. I have seen a few places I can buy them but my question is how easy are they to fit? I' hoping someone who has already done them can help me out! This is what I found... https://autobeam.co.uk/collections/fiesta-mk7-5-2013-2017/products/drl-indicator-led-ring-kit https://autobeam.co.uk/collections/fiesta-mk7-5-2013-2017/products/ambient-led-ring-kit Many thanks !!!
  20. Ford Escort 1.6 Finesse for sale 39,000 miles W reg - August 2000 Moondust silver metallic FSH from new Excellent condition inside and out Belonged to my elderly father who passed away earlier this year and now looking for a good home as the car was his pride and joy. Please note the car has no MOT/no roadtax as the car was taken off the road earlier this year. However, it has only covered around 300 miles since the last MOT and service(2016). Happy to provide photos if required. Will consider all sensible offers. Would love it to go to an enthusiast.
  21. O.K, so the Aluminium part of your foot pedal just fell off? Mine did a month and a half ago. I temporarily glued it back in place whilst ordering a genuine new one. Thinking this would be an easy swap I set about it. A few hours (and a lot of frustration later I managed the task). I couldn't find anything helpful online so I thought I'd write a quick guide of how I managed this. The pedal in question was the Clutch pedal, but I presume it'll be the same fro the Brake pedal too. Insure you have a lamp, a small mirror and a flat stubby screwdriver to assist you doing this correctly. Place the new pedal cover into a bowl of boiling water for around 10 minutes. Dry off the pedal cover and head to the car to begin fitting. (#1) Install the bottom of the pedal cover first (as it's the smaller area). (#2) Insert the upper left corner next (this is the awkward corner as you are inhibited by the pedal support arm) (#3) Then run your screwdriver up the side to ensure the rubber between #1 & #2 is correctly fitted. (#4) Fit the top right corner next. (#5) Run your screwdriver across the top to ensure the rubber between #2 & #4 is correctly fitted. (#6) Finally pull down on the right side tab to assist you using your screwdriver to ensure this rubber is correctly in place. This sounds fairly simple to do, but in practice it can be a bit of a dog to successfully get all of the rubbers on in place. You will need to apply pressure to the pedal cover against the pedal itself to get parts to stay on whilst moving on to the next step. Obviously if the pedal cover slips off then you should start again and drop it back into boiling water. I've attached a few images for assistance. I hope this guide helps at least one person out, please leave a comment below if so. Thanks in advance.
  22. I have a Ford FiestaLX 2003 petrol. It's getting pretty cold now and the last 2 days my car has not been starting properly. When I start the engine the revs go up and then normally they drop down to about 1, but at the moment they go all the way to 0 and the car doesn't start. the only way I can get the car moving is by using the accelerator to force more revs so it will move. however, when I stop the car at the junction right by my house, it doesn't stall, it just stops. I have no idea what the problem could be, a friend of mine suggested it could be the choke, but I don't know where the choke is on my car. any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Louie
  23. Hello, I have a Ford Focus Mk1 2003 Face lift, I have an issue with my OSR (Driver's side rear) brake light, it doesn't seem to work. The NSR (Passanger side rear) and third brake light work fine and the rear side lights work, even the drivers side as the bulb is a dual filment. I have checked the bulb and its fine, I have checked the bulb fitment for resistance and its fine(also cleaned it), fuses are okay and the the wiring from the light to the body of the car seems okay just looking and moving them around. Any ideas would be most appreciated with it being dark most of the time at this time of the year in the UK. Cheers Andy
  24. Hello everyone, I seem to be having a issue after I de-tangoing my headlights. The passenger side headlight's cut off seems to go way above the other. Basically I'm in for a MOT next month and I'm a little scared it will fail due to this. Any ideas on what I've done would be great. I think I may have scratched the inside of the plastic or possibly knocked the ballast off. If anyone's had this issue please let me know below. Thanks alot
  25. 2 weeks ago I bought a 2012 fiesta zetec s. Since a couple of days after I bought it, the car was struggling to start a wee bit. I thought this might be because the person I bought it off barely ran it, and I mainly use it to drive to work and back (10 minutes from home). The car recently has been struggling to start a wee bit more (even if I took it big runs to charge the battery), it could sit for a few hours then it would not turn over and sound really powerless when turning the key, with lights on the dashboard flickering too. But it eventually would start. For the interior light to turn off and the dashboard to go off, the car must be locked. Is this right for this kind of car? A few times when turning the key, there has been a noise that sounds just like the noise it makes when the petrol light goes on. Just want to check that this sounds like the car battery is on it's way out before I buy a new one? And it's not another kind of problem?
