Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. C max headlamp units

Hi out there, would appreciate some advice if anyone knows how to help with this one.... I started fitting new headlamp units to my c max only to find my sidelight stopped working on the driver side( I didn't fit the passenger side as wasn't impressed with the situation) when I put the old the headlamp back in the side light worked fine. I checked all the bulbs and assume the fuses are ok since the lights still work. I also checked the new wiring and sockets in the new unit and they seemed fine. Is it a bad earth? Or am I missing something? I checked and checked the bulb was seated in the socket too. Hmmmm
  2. Hello all, I am back driving a Ford after a 10 year break and I have noticed a real positive difference in drive and interior quality. I am a frequent visitor to Europe, and I usually take the car. This year I am preparing for a trip to Marseille, coinciding nicely with the Euro's. I am trying to work out how to adjust my headlamps, previously I have used stickers, more recently the VW I had allowed me to adjust the headlamp setting through the on board computer. When I look at my headlamps I am struggling to see where to put the stickers. I have looked in my manual and it says I should contact a main dealer for more help. I am not sure if my main dealer is going to be able to help me for a simple thing like changing the settings. Now I do have the headlamps that see around corners, and it is a Mark IV Mondeo, 2012, 2.0TDCi Titanium X. Does anyone have any ideas how to change the set up or am I best placed to contact a local dealership and ask for their help? Cheers, Mark.
  3. Hi All I have a shiny new Gord Galaxy Titanium Edition 2014. I have noticed that the front and rear headlamps always stay on when the ignition is on. It is supposed to have auto sensing headlights when is where the knob is set to. Even if I move the knob to manual "0" position, the lights still stay on. ( The dash lights go off in the position). I took it back to the dealer and was told those are the running lights but that sounds like nonsense to me. Anybody know if he's right, will I always have to drive around with my lights on? (and let me clear, they are not the small types of running lights, it is the main headlamps were talking about). There are loads of Galaxys on the road but I have not seen any with headlamps on during the day on any of them. Hope someone can shed some light (sorry, couldn't resist) Imran
  4. Headlamps Keep Blowing

Hi I have a ford focus zetec registered march 2005. Over the past 3 months i have replaced the front headlamps every 3 weeks, or there abouts. They don't blow together one goes, i replace it 3 weeks later the other side goes. Its not the full beam that fine its the normal dipped lights. The fuses haven't been touched, i have had the car for 2 years and this has only started happening in the past 3 months. Now changing them etc. isn't an issue but i simply cant afford to keep having to replace bulbs like this. Has anybody had a similar issue? Does anybody know of a similar issue? Can anybody suggest anything to start looking at? At the moment im running some version of Osram bulbs, i think its one of the brighter bulbs cant remember the name. I know some people think Osram are rubbish so what would you suggest? Phillips, Halfrauds own brand? Other brand?
  5. HI, I have had a look on hear but cant seem to find the answer. I have a 2008 Focus Zetec. I cannot find the fuse for the headlamp anywhere. I have checked under bonnet and found one lot of fuses and also under the glove compartment on passenger side where there is also a large number of fuses. The problem I have is I have been told the fuses for headlamps at 16 & 17 but the ones under the glove compartment are all higher numbered 111 etc. and the ones under bonnet (which has a diagram on the case lid) does not show headlights. I would be really grateful if anyone could shed any light on this mystery for me! Many thanks, Paul
  6. I have a 2007 Mondeo, and I feel that although the main beam headlights are great, the dipped beam ones are not as good. They do not light up much of the road in front of me, and the beam seems to fall rather close to the front of the car. I have tried adjusting the beam using the dial by the steering wheel, but on its furthest setting it still seems very close to the front of the car. Is there anyone out there experiencing the same thing? Is there anything I can do to improve the dipped beam range? Thank you.
  7. Hey all, Just a quick question to see if anyone is aware of this. Did Ford ever make original Bi-Xenon headlamps for the Focus MK2?? Was looking on the internet to see if i can get any after market ones, but don't seem to be spoiled for choice Reason I am looking for them is that am still having an issue with my xenon conversion kit. Installed it there a while ago until recently more and more drivers started flashing their lights at me when driving past!! Then the Police stopped me and told me that I need to have the projector headlamps installed at least, otherwise the light is dispersed and hence blinds the other drivers!! When I went to the Ford dealership, they said they don't supply any headlamps like that. When asked about the ST ones, they said they are 400 quid a set and will have to play around with them to get them fitted!!! Any help would be much appreciated guys :)
  8. Hi All This is my first topic on the forum, would be open to any advice :) I Have recently purchased a set of Bi Xenon Headlights, which I hope will replace my halogen headlights. I currently have the OEM Bi Xenon Headlights without any bulbs, but with (I think) all the wires, as shown below: There are some parts that I will need to complete the project: Osram D1s Xenaelectron Ballast Osram D1s Xenarc Bulbs Any advice on locating the parts will be welcome I plan on using the elm327 cable and Ff2 Program, as shown in Preee's guide, to activate the headlights and washers if possible. This project will probably encorperate retrofit of the headlight washers too. :D
