Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hello everyone, I seem to be having a issue after I de-tangoing my headlights. The passenger side headlight's cut off seems to go way above the other. Basically I'm in for a MOT next month and I'm a little scared it will fail due to this. Any ideas on what I've done would be great. I think I may have scratched the inside of the plastic or possibly knocked the ballast off. If anyone's had this issue please let me know below. Thanks alot
  2. Dashboard cluster removal

Hello, I'm having a little trouble removing the dashboard from my mk6.5 (STyle) fiesta. I have removed the following Steering wheel upper trim Steering wheel lower trim The trim below the steering wheel (to gain access to the trim infront of the dashboard cluster) The trim infront of the cluster And two screws at the bottom of the cluster. I tried giving it a little pull but it seemed like I'm missing something, any help would be appreciated. I have looked at a few guides but they removed the rubber trim above the cluster and it doesn't look possible on my car.
  3. LED interior lights

I was thinking of getting this (the 501 RGB LED) for my interior light of my MK7 fiesta (just the center one that comes on with the doors) but I don't think it will fit, I know that the large LEDs don't fit in the center light and this one looks similar in size, can anyone shed any light on this?
  4. Recent problem that has me baffled, if I have the lights on with the engine running and attempt to turn the engine off, take the key out and the engine still runs, as soon as I turn the lights off the ignition then goes off. Same happens other way round, no key in ignition and I turn light switch to side lights or head and the ignition comes on. I was not bothered and it's been that way for 2 months or so but I now just discovered as we had fog that the fog front & rears no longer work(neither does dash signal light come on) so it's now become an MOT problem, any clues? p.s Probably unrelated but it started around same time as a fuse blew for the Aux power plug.
  5. Footwell LED lights

I am considering upgrading the footwell lights in my MK 7 Zetec to red LED ones to match the ambient lighting. I have read that the LED will glow slightly when they are supposed to be off because of current still in the wire, I am wondering how noticeable this will be, I am thinking it would only be noticeable if I replace the interior roof lights too? Does anyone have any suggestions for good led footwell lights?
  6. Hi all I'm trying to find a headlight plug for the mk7.5 fiesta, as I'm in the process of facelifting my mk7 can't find any on eBay or anywhere online any help??
  7. Hi all, Would anyone have any knowledge of lights always being on and locked in dip mode only when ignition is turned on please? also no other light options work other than indicators/hazards e.g. no fogs back or front, no main beam. 08 Galaxy D. Happy Saturday you lovely people.
  8. Grand C-Max

I have a 2012 Grand C-Max 2.0 TDI For some reason the lights on the Near Side turns off after a while, leaving only the Dim lights on, Indicator and mirror light still works. Lights that goes off (rear brake & park lights & Front park light) I have checked all the lights but i have no blown bulbs, what else could it be. Its my first ford, but I know that this is a symptom of a problem but I do not know where to look.
  9. Daytime running lamps

Hi folks Picked up my Edge Titanium yesterday - really pleased. I noticed that the headlights are always on, regardless of the settings I've put them on e.g Auto etc. Ive followed the online video instruction to switch off the Daytime Lights, but that option doesn't appear on my Edge (the image is from the online video). Thoughts? TC
  10. Hello :) I've had my rear lights tinted, looks really smart and I'm happy with the result. One of my colleagues has been a killjoy and been reminding me all morning that the lights are either "illegal" and an "MOT failure waiting to happen" Can any of you guys lend an opinion, do I have anything to worry about?
  11. Dashboard lights

Hey, hope this is the right section. I'm currently wanting to do some simple mods to my ford fiesta mk6.5 (56 reg) 1.25 style. I was wondering if anyone has a guide for changing the light color behind the Speedo. I have read elsewhere that it's pretty simple to do but I am a little confused since they are old posts and images have expired. Thanks in advance :-)
  12. Lights out

So after recently changing all my lights to aftermarket CEUK bulbs everything was fine until I decided to change the roof light as well -the one that goes on when you open the doors- wasn't until today I realised that my drivers side headlights and fogs were out along with my interior footwell lights... anyone else have this problem and find the solution, I know the fuses could have blown tried to get them out but they are nion impossible to get out if you don't have nails.. and the passenger glove box fuse box you have to take out the glove compartment, for the record I have a Fiesta mk7 13 plate, any help would be appreciated massively
  13. So i have a 2013 1.6 TDCi Zetec S Facelifted. I have searched all over the internet for rear smoked lights and all i can find are ones to fit the 2008-2012 models. Does anyone have a 2013 fiesta with the rear smoked lights and can help by giving a link. As been told the 2012 will not fit the 2013- and really struggling to find some. Thanks
  14. Hi on my mk3 focus I have two little black boxes on the windscreen, which have wires running into the roof lining. It's a zetec so doesn't have auto lights / wipers - but I haven't seen these on similar models. Are they anything to do with the radio lights coming on when dark and off during the day? Only I thought the dome by the windscreen (between the vents) was what controlled this. Can't see anything on Ford Etis.
  15. I've a 2016 Ford with Xenon headlights , the auto-leveling doesn't seem to be working, and the lights seem even on normal load with just driver in car to be a little high. Filled the car with fuel last night, and went from not blinding on-coming cars to lighting up to 300/400 meters ahead on the motorway.Truck drivers and other drivers not impressed. I've had the car in with the local Ford dealers here in Ireland, but since Titanium X's aren't even sold here, and "Adaptive Headlamps Bi Xenon" aren't a common option selected here, the dealer didn't know much about them. I was initially told to use the adjustment dial beside the light switch, so my confidence in the dealer is pretty low. They've checked and told me the system is fine, but it's obviously not. I'm pretty sure all they've done is hooked up the computer and got no error codes The car had a minor coming together with a fox, and wheel arch liner and a part of the under tray were replaced. There were zero warnings on the dash. Could this is cause of the problems? Can anyone suggest pointers to bring to another dealer, so they can fix it, or home made short term fix, until I can get the car to a dealers that more used to the lightening system?

  17. Amber Side-lights

I was just wondering if anyone had replaced their side lights with amber LED's, and what they look like? I am curious to see since google is offering little to no pictures. Also, is it legal?
  18. Hi guys Picked up a Fiesta MK6 a few weeks back and realised the reverse lights were not working when I put it into reverse gear. I assumed it was the bulbs as a couple of the break light bulbs had gone which I have since replaced. On inspection, the reverse light bulbs seemed fine but then found that the fuse had blown. I replaced this too but I am still not getting any reverse lights which leads me to think it is the switch. I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues and what the best way to access the switch would be to clean/replace it Thanks
  19. Ford Kuga Full Beam Issue

I have a 3 month old Ford Kuga 2016 - Titanium x - I have xenon head lights with self-levelling. Before I start this I must make it clear that the xenon part of the light works fine and so does the self-levelling. Now, when I put the full/main beam on the second "standard" bulb which is on the inside of the light is clearly wrongly aligned. The OSF / driver's side is clearly point down, onto the road, so the full beam lights are wonky. Ford main dealer says this height can not be adjusted and it does correctly go up and down with the self-levelling, but the drivers side is always still pointing a lot lower down. Its is so bad the most of the pattern from the light is completely on the road about 25 feet in front of the vehicle. Now is this the same on all Kuga's with Xenon headlights, or can the full beam height be adjusted in relation to the dip xenon beam. Help please - This is not related to the yellow adjustment on top of the light !
  20. O/S Rear Tail Light

On my UK 54 plate Mondeo I have a weird problem. All lights work normally except the drivers side rear tail lights. Working are: Indicator, fog light, brake light Not working are: Standard tail lights when lights are on Looked at all fuses behind glove compartment, all good. Wires going to the rear light cluster are all tightly combined and untouched (no nicks etc.) This is really discombobulating me - can anyone shed any light on this please?
  21. Mk3 headlight problem?

Hi all. I recently upgraded from a Mk2 to Mk3 Focus (1.6T Estate Titanium X) and I am loving all the new toys. But I noticed the other night that one of the front lights doesn't appear to be working on the passenger side. The light that doesn't light is the one labelled B in my attached diagram, which seems to be the main beam (top, centre-most). So I got another bulb (H1 448) and finally fitted it today but it still doesn't come on. At some point during my testing, the drivers side equivalent was working but only briefly - it would go out after few seconds. Currently with the car running I get: Light switch set to off (O) = Only the LED strip running lights are on. (A) Light switch set to sidelights? = I still just have the running lights on. (A) Light switch set to main beam = LED running lights plus the outer round lights. (A + D) Light switch set to auto lights = Just the running lights (not surprising as it is day time) (A) Can anyone help? I presume light B should be on when the switch is set to main beam? And C comes on when I go to full beam? Where should I start looking? Is it likely to be a fuse? Dodgy connector? Have I blown the drivers side light now? Any help appreciated.
  22. HIDs

Just thought I would start a topic to get a few folks opinions on HIDs. Basically, I'm looking to get a set of HID lights for my fiesta, but It seems there's s few negatives. From what I have read, they can damage the actually headlight itself due to the amount of light/heat it's giving off, and can damage the reflector that projects the light. I have a mate who fitted them amour a month ago now, bought his set for around £40. Last week both his HIDs blew up while driving leaving him with just his main beam and side lights to drive with. That kinda put me off abit. anyway would love to know people's opinions, those of who have them fitted, which ones did you go for, any problems etc. Cheers
  23. So my full set of new lights from CEUK came today, and decided why not make a start to fitting them. So started with the dipped beam and main beam along with side lights, no bother at all. All completed. Started raining so wrapped things up. Next thing I went to do was the number plate lights thinking it would take 5mins top, however.. I can't get the thing out! I manage to loosen it, but can't pull it out completely! A guide or some sort of help for this moron would be appreciated! Cheers
  24. Interior lighting

Hi guys, this is my first post! So I have a focus mkii from 2008. A while back I took it into Trust Ford garage to repair a water ingress in the boot whilst the car was under warranty but during the repair they completely removed all the wiring for the boot light and didn't replace it. I only found this out when I recently took the car to halfords for them to fit a new bulb (as I thought that's why I had no light in the boot). Ford are now refusing to replace the wiring with out payment as warranty has now run out... so this brings me onto my topic. I'm wondering if anyone has the know how of sourcing parts and installing. I'd like to put in some coloured LED lights in the boot and also into the footwell, maybe in the dashboard aswell. let me know what you guys think, and what is doable on a budget with little to no knowledge :) thanks!
  25. T10 Light Adapter

Hi Guys and Gals, Looking to up the footwell lighting in my focus. I've currently just got a couple of LED bulbs in there, but with the Focus mk2.5 (unsure about other models), the bulb holder is too far inwards towards the center console and not low enough. So all the light is lost behind the dash and barely any reaches the actual footwells. Am looking at fitting an LED strip along the crash barrier underneath to better light up both footwells. Have seen T10 adapters that plug in with wiring coming off them, and more than happy to solder onto these exposed wires. What i'm getting at is, has anyone got experience with these adapters?? I believe just a small piece of plastic, positive one side, negative the other and a bit of solder will suffice, but will that be reliable?? I'd rather plug something in than splice or 'piggyback' onto wiring under the dash. Can you just buy these adapters without any LED's?? If anybody has any lying around then let me know! Any help, advice, links etc is much appreciated, thanks!
