Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hello guys back again with another question... I have just went to replace the rear number plate lights with white led lights, but once I have gone to turn them on they do not seem to want to light up... tried turning them around and still nothing. one thing I have noticed is when I turn my lights on and open my door the warning sound "ding ding" doesn't happen anymore? can anyone shed some light on how I might fix this? I thought it might be a fuse but I can't find what fuse it would be anywhere on the web so haven't a scooby doo where that is. thanks a lot guys :)
  2. Looking for a bit of guidance on starting issues im having with my 2.0 tdci mk focus estate. A few days ago it was difficult to start the car and i had to leave the key turned and the engine turning over for around ten seconds before the car spluttered into life - followed by a big white cloud of smoke out the rear. after a minute or so the car settled down, the smoke cleared and the car was running fine. I then had the same issue a few days later, again, after a minute or so the car settled down and was running fine. I then had an issue the very same day where the car kangaroo'd a little whilst driving steady at 30MPH, this was followed by the engine dying completely and an engine management warning coming up on the dash. I coasted to the side of the road and turned the ignition off, I tried to start the car and it started absolutely fine no issues at all. At this point I realise that there is an issue and mentally tell myself to get the car checked out as soon as I can - The car continues to drive fine for the rest of the day however and I intended to go to a local garage the following day and get it checked out. Anyways, were now on the next day, I go out to the car and cannot get it started at all, the engine turns over however it will not fire. nothing. I had a look at the fuel line and noted that there were air bubbles in the clear line from the filter running to the fuel pump. I also noted that the fuel line was not securely clipped onto the fuel pump, I securley reconnected this and turned the engine over, Fuel was seen pulling through from the filter however a huge bubble of air was also in the line. I cracked open the bolts on the fuel lines going into the injectors one at a time and could see they were all pushing fuel past OK - I nipped these back up and thats as far as I have got. The problem I now have is I cannot get to a garage as the car wont drive, and I am not sure what to do or what may be the issue. Does anyone have any advise or had similar happen? I only got the car two months ago and i'll be honest its my first Ford, and also my first diesel so im a little outside my comfort zone on the mechanical side of things!
  3. Hello all, i'm having a little bit of trouble with my mk3 mondeo 2.0 tdci. First of all, it came up with the usual P0251 code which then I have replaced the injectors that made it run better. It then got bad again so I attempted to change the solenoid valve on the injection pump. Ever since i did that the car would not want to start for some unknown reason but there appears to be fuel making its way to the injectors as I cracked them open and plenty of fuel was escaping. The codes I have been given are known as P2291 Injector pressure too low - Engine cranking and P2623 injector control pressure regulator open circuit. Please could anyone help me as im stunned from what this car throws up when one thing goes wrong. Many thanks

  5. My 2013 ford fiesta 1L ecoboost's start stop isnt working, the button to turn it on and off just stays illuminated when pressed, you can turn the light off when the ignition is on but as soon as you start the car the light comes on and you cannot turn the light off, and therefor the start stop isnt working. any advice thanks
  6. Hi, I have recently purchased a 2011 Ford Fiesta Zetec. The other night I was sat in some traffic which was moving every 5 minutes or so, or rolling forward. My temperature light came on but I did not hear my engine fan come on? The light only went out once I got moving again doing normal speed (30mph). While cleaning my car today I turnt the engine on and let it run to see if it would come on again - I had it running for at least 30-40 minutes - yet the light never come on, but neither did the fan. ***Please help!*** Could it of been a one off thing? Does the car temp need to be a certain level before the fan comes on? Could my fan simply just not be working? If so, how can I resolve this? Kind Regards, Ben
  7. Hi, I hope someone can help me out here. I've recently installed an aftermarket set of front fog lamps on my Fiesta 7.5 (my fiesta did not come with any) but they do not work. The fuse and relay are both working but the lights will still not activate. Has anybody had this experience before, and if so, how did you fix it? Thanks, Eoin
  8. Hello All, New to this, not sure if I am posting in the right place, just need some help with a problem in my car. I have Ford Fiesta Titanium 2009, the bluetooth, usb, power socket (cigarette lighter) and voice command/speech recognition all do not work. The radio, CD player and the menus all work find with the media system, but the things mentioned above do not work at all... Any advice on what may be wrong would be helpful :)
  9. Ford Focus Won't Start

Hello guys, I have a question, regarding my Ford Focus 1.6 16v Zetec. It is refusing to start,no matter what I try to do.I replaced the battery, spark plugs (Denso) and it still runs one day and the next day I'm struggling to get it to start. When it runs,it's OK,but as the engine gets warm the rpm-s start dropping while in neutral, when approaching traffic lights or junctions and it feels like it's going to cut off. This car hasn't ever let me down,it ran 1400 miles with no problem. I would appreciate it,if someone shares an opinion, regarding this problem. P.S. I live in the Netherlands and it's rather cold. The immobiliser light is off when the key is in the ignition mode. I made a video - https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5ZIRBL4tYQ-REZvc3haSm14RVk&usp=sharing
  10. Okay, need some help: I use my iphone to play music. I connect it using the USB port on my centre console, it normally works fine... I got spotify premium to play music without having to HAVE it. The problem is: When I plug the phone in, the music from spotify doesn't play (or plays like a beat then stops) The only way I found to fix this is to pull the phone out, stop the song, plug it back in, play the song for 5 seconds then turn my radio to play from my phone, but after that song finishes, it happens again... Anyone know how to get it working constantly without cutting out? Or if it's an error on spotifys side ((works perfect when not plugged into the car)) or the iphone, or fiesta?
  11. Hi there, Sincere apologies if this has already been covered, but I am in dire need of advice. I had my car problem diagnosed as a turbo fault... (Gone in other words) I can get a turbo for £165 inc vat & delivery with a 3 month warranty, and my question is this. Is it a fairly easy job to change a turbo and does anyone have any diagrams or photo's on the process of changing the turbo over. The car is a Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Zetec 2004 Many thanks in advance Ian
