Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Newbie seeking serious help!

Hi Guys, Brand new to the forum so please be patient with me if I am being dumb here! I've got a Focus Titanium X Mk3.5 with Sync 2 system, which I really love, but the only thing letting it down is the audio quality! Can anyone tell me how easy it would be to fit new speakers and add a sub to the vehicle? At the minute I am just trying to find out if it can be done by myself, or if it's something I need to take to a professional. I have a budget of £500 but I really want to get some decent kit for my money, if I have to pay for someone to fit it I don't mind but I don't want to be left with no money to buy my kit! Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance Daniel
  2. Subwoofer

Me and my dad have fitted a subwoofer into my Fiesta and it sounds amazing! My only problem is the rattle sound. You can't hear the rattle from the inside but if you are outside of the car then you can hear it. I don't want to be "that guy" who thinks his car sounds cool but in reality everyone is shaking their heads at the rattle lol :P Would anyone know the best way to get rid of the rattle? It sounds like is coming from the rear bumper.
  3. Hello peoples of the Ford Owners Club! I have a 2009 Focus Zetec and I'm keen to upgrade the stock audio system. My wants are only to add some subs (underseat - gotta save that boot space) and some new front door speakers. After some deliberation with many audio fitters I've been told that the Focus is incapable of housing an underseat subwoofer due to the limited space. It seems the Kenwood subs (links below) are the thinnest around (70mm) and they still catch on the seat when it moves. Now feel free to absolutely roast me but I have to ask: Is there anything wrong with placing it sideways with velcro (as per) onto the air vents under the seat. Not blocking the vents themselves of course, just resting on top. The cardboard model I made seems to fit fine and with room at the sides for the cabling. Before I buy two subwoofers though it would be good to know if this is a terrible idea first of all. Anyone else with similar upgrade experience to the focus? Any help would be much appreciated. :) Michael https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-ksc-sw11_p-31239.htm https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-ksc-sw01_p-25624.htm
  4. Focus Underseat sub

Hi guys, I have a 2015 Ford Focus Titanium, with Ford Touch SYNC2 (8" display etc, standard speakers etc). I would have liked to have an underseat subwoofer but didn't notice this or advised when I purchased the car last year. I have searched around on the web to see how easy it is to buy an underseat sub and install myself, but I haven't found much to help. Ford do offer an install at around £180+. So my questions are: How easy would this be to install an underseat sub myself? (will I need to run cables to battery or headunit?) Has anybody had the sub installed by Ford? how does it sound? (with similar Ford Touch 8", standard speakers) Cheers for the help in advance! Wayne.
  5. Sony Head Unit Sub Install

Hi all, 1st post and I'm wondering if it's possible to install a sub using my stock Sony Head Unit. I'm unsure if I need a converter or if the back of my stereo has the capability. I have nothing but the sub so any help to cabling would be awesome. Sub with a built in AMP Fiesta Titanium 61 Plate Thanks in advance people!!
  6. I really want to improve the overall sound quality in my current Ford Fiesta 14 plate but not sure what's the best way to do it? Can I buy certain upgrade kits? Should I just buy new speakers and a sub or do I need to replace the stereo as well? Can't seem to find an awful lot online but maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing... any help is appreciated guys! 👊🏻
  7. Hi Guys, I am a newbie who is currently waiting on delivery of a new 16 plate fiesta zetec s/st line black edition... the waiting is just painful I will be looking at installing an active sub to the ford dab sync headunit but cant find any info on how to install one? Isit something that can be done quite easily? Or takes abit of time? I know im suppose to have a rca converter but have never installed a sub on a non-aftermarket headunit before, so not sure how to wire the converter up. Cheers for any info that can be provided. Adam
  8. New to the Forum

Hi Guys and Good Morning to you all, New to the forum so here is my introduction. Oliver here from leafy Surrey in my 30's. Day job is IT Geek (good Geek) for Toyota at Head Office in Epsom, evenings and weekend I play with the camera and have been a night club and events photographer part time since 2010. Am a big Ford nut myself and the family over the years have owned numerous Fords. My first Ford was a Fiesta Zetec V reg then i moved on to the new and improved think MK5 Fiesta when they brought out the Zetec S and ST for the first time. I had the bright red with white stripes lol Moved onto a MK2 KA for all my sins but due to family life and all had to do this, as with my next car the Ford B Max. I am now the owner of a very nice Fezzy ZS Black Edition, my little pokey Fez as I call it. Likeing the 145bhp from the 1L engine. I have a two maybe 3 stage plan for the car, the first is to get it lowered by 4/5mm using springs then fit an induction kit and colour code some of the pipes in red and black and fit a Miltex Cat Back sports exhaust. Along with this I would like to fit a sub in the boot (sub amp in one) and add two speakers to the parcel shelf, so will be looking for advice on this one, as heard you can get one connector for the rear of the head unit to allow you to connect new speakers and subs to the existing system. Cheers Guy n Gals, hope to chat to you all at some point
  9. Hi all, Need some help, I have a all new mondeo 2015 and want to put a amp/sub in, it does not have RCA output so was thinking in line adaptor, speakers to RCA, however, as it is a new car I am struggling to find any wiring diagrams for the speaker side of things, can anyone help with trying to identify the speaker wires please, I have attached a picture of what I am faced with. Thank you for any help you may be able to give.
  10. Right I've just bought a SUB for my fiesta it's a FLI Trap single sub 1200watts i was wondering if it would wire into my head unit or will i have to buy a new head unit from halfords? Also where can i get Mk7 radio pullers from so i can remove my head unit. Cheers Ben_140
  11. Hello, Im picking up my car on Monday. My parents are buying me an amp and sub for Chirstmas, Bit worried about getting it fitted into a brand new car, dotn want anything to go wrong. I will go to halford or somet to get it fitted, but still... Whats the sound system like in the ST-3? Do i need a sub? Thanks.
  12. Faulty Head Unit?

I have just wired up an amp and sub, having a few troubles with it though...... I'm getting feedback/noise through the sub, no engine noise though, it sounds as if you can hear the cd load/spin, I only get the noise with a cd, the radio seems ok and the aux input is fine too. Iv'e checked the earth for the amp that's fine i'm getting no noise though the sub unless the rca cables are plugged into the headunit when playing a cd. Iv'e made sure all the earth's I can see for the headunit and in the engine bay are ok and even tried to re-earth the head unit, but with no luck. Another problem is the amp not turning off with the headunit via the remote wire, I have an adapter for the steering wheel controls and figured out this was causing the problem, when i disconnect them and wire it up without the controls the amp turns off when the head unit does. I'm thinking it just could be a faulty head unit, it's just an old single din panasonic one from my old car. Does any one else have any thoughts on what it could be? Cheers.
  13. Iso Help

So im trying to install a sub in my MK7 was wondering what the best RCA converter was? Or did anyone know of an pre made ISO cable with the Phono inputs on Thanks :)
  14. I have a pioneer double din stereo with preouts ect. I have a bassface active sub, the only problem I have is getting the power cables from the sub to the battery, how do I get through the bulkhead (or firewall) to the engine bay from inside to out. I hae tried to locate grommets but can't find any and the home were wires already go is too tight for anything. People have suggested drilling through but I don't really want to do that as I'm only a rookie, does anyone know any easy way through?

  16. Hi, I recently installed a subwoofer and amplifier into my mk7 fiesta, but now the windscreen wipers and power windows aren't working. There doesn't seem to be any other problems and the fuses for these look okay (also there's a beep when you turn the car off in the engine bay which I haven't heard before) Thanks in advance, Billy
  17. I've just signed up on here so this is my first post. I have a Mk6.5 fiesta and I want a new sound system in it just to make cruising around all the more fun. Anyone got any suggestions of good speakers or subs that I could look into. I was more going towards Kenwood as I already have an idea of the head unit that I want to get (Kenwood DPX-504u) although any suggestions would be appreciated. Not looking at doing any major changes to the car, just the small things that make it nicer to drive. Want to get this sound system upgraded first off and then I might look into making the interior nice so any suggestions of decent mods to make the small details nicer would also be appreciated. Thanks
  18. Evening Everyone. This afternoon I decided to start wiring up my Subs and speakers, using my know how and online guide. There were a couple of speedbumps but I managed to storm through it. But when they time came to listen to my awesome new sound.... Nothing.. not even a whisper. Can anyone Tell me what I've done wrong from the photos Below. There Isn't one of the amp for the simple reason you need to be thicker than a block of Tungsten steel to get it wrong. Yes I've Tried it in BOTH RCA Outputs
