Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Audio malfunction

Ford Fiesta mk7 2012 62 plate zetec s with Sony sound system and Bluetooth. iPod output playing echoing from microphone through the left speaker and won't play any music through iPod/USB or Bluetooth. I'm yet to try an aux cable but it's playing what my microphone is picking up. It was fine this morning but 6 hours later leaving my morning shift it just wouldn't work or play anything from my phone. Have turned the car off and on and the audio system and restarted my phone. Have also tried Apple Music and Spotify and nothing, it connects to my phone, says it's playing it, but there's no sound. Only echoing from my microphone receiver through the left speaker. Reluctantly had to listen to the radio instead of red hot chilli peppers, fuming. Any ideas what it could be?

  3. Hello! I recently bought a new model 2012 Ford KA and it has a USB port, not an aux cable. I thought I'd be able to plug my iphone in to charge it and to play music through it but when I plug it in, it beeps to charge but suddenly stops again. And so it won't charge or play music from my phone/spotify...however, it works with an ipod? Ideas? Or anyone else experienced this?
  4. Hi guys, I live on the Costa del Sol and have just bought a 2010 Ford Focus Titanium. It is fitted with a Sony CD (Generation 2) audio unit, and pressing the CD/AUX button brings up USB as a menu option. I have also found in the unit behind the handbrake (under the armrest) a 12V power socket, an Aux jack socket, and a USB connector. When I connect a USB stick with mp3 songs on it the stick illuminates, indicating that it is powered, but then selecting USB from the CD/Aux menu it says USB not fitted! Am I doing something wrong, or is this USB connector just for charging?
  5. I have already accepted that my little fiesta mk6 is going to have to be somewhat of a project top get it up to something i am happy with but it seems on top of the current issues, a new one has cropped up that i could use your advice on. After i bought the car i had an auxiliary input installed (official ford part) i have used the input extensively with no problems, aside from a slight crackle from passenger door speaker. This i have put down to a faulty speaker, another job entirely. Anyway, yesterday i plugged my phone in to both the aux in and then the USB charger cable which in turn was plugged in to a usb adapter that fits in the 12volt supply (cigarette lighter). Almost instantly i noticed the sound was slightly distorted and crackly. Still relatively clear but not 100%. The other thing is, when accelerating i can hear a whining/whistling sound from the engine. The higher the revs the louder the noise. If i unplug the charger the noise instantly goes away. Any suggestions.... alternator issues perhaps?
  6. Hello, I've just purchased a Ford Ka 2011 and it has just a USB port, no aux. When I connect my iPod I have no control over it as the screen shows the connected imagE. Is there anything I can buy, an adapter perhaps, so that I can connect my iPod and have control over the screen so I can choose what I want to play?

  8. Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum, going to be honest I never signed up because I went a bit mad modifying my last car and I thought not being on a forum would stop me from getting ideas about playing with this car! I have a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium, owned it for about 9 months now. Been a great car, done everything I've asked of it (and some things I've not asked like wheel bearings going at 32k!) So I recently tried to unpair a phone from the bluetooth and since then all of the above have stopped working. Seems like my car is having a hissy fit because I was fed up of listening to the other halves music whenever she got in the car! So I took it to my Ford dealership for some advice and they wanted to charge ridiculous amounts of money just to book it in and try and diagnose it. Could be talking £300+ which I was a bit annoyed about paying on the off chance they can fix it. I was wondering if anyone on here has any advice for me to try and get it working for myself. So far I have disconnected the battery for half an hour which in theory should have reset everything but still no luck. I believe the 2012 Focus with the sony headunit has a separate bluetooth module underneath the glovebox, but disconnecting that wouldn't do anything different to disconnecting the battery to rest everything in theory. Any advice would be great. I have 6 weeks off work and am determined to not be conned by Ford for something unnecessary if possible. Thanks Jake
  9. Hey Everyone, So I just went and treated my self a Samsung S8+, After being an Iphone user for so long I thought I'd go a different way BUT now my world is falling apart (well maybe an exaggeration but anyway). SO I synced the bluetooth with no problems, and then I plugged in the USB 3.1 Connector and O crap. Charges fines, but it will only come up unknown format then USB initialising, and then when I disconnect the USB to try and go bluetooth it won't change to bluetooth. when i've got Line in selected and press AUX it just comes up USB initialising WITH NOTHING CONNECTED and the only way to stop this is turning off the ignition. Has anyone seen this with android? I am regretting my decision :( Shes a 2012 Fiesta Titanium TDCI econetic Thanks everyone :)
  10. Broken USB port

Hi there, I've just purchased a Ford Focus diesel estate MK3. Titanium Within the centre armrest storage area (between the 2 front seats), there is a USB and Aux in socket bay. The USB port seems to be wrecked. Can you get a replacement part for this, does anyone know? Thanks.
  11. Hi all, I'm new to fiesta stuff so please go easy on me :) I just got a 58 plate Fiesta mk7 Zetec S tdci. I have all the features that indicate i should have working bluetooth usb and aux. I have the usb and aux ports under the handbrake. The voice activation on indicator stick etc etc. However my USB, AUX and Bluetooth are not working. I can't turn bluetooth on in the menu, and whenever i plug aux or usb in, they just dont work. I have checked the module is there, i have checked the fuses, and i have checked that the module is getting power. What else could it be? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys
  12. So, my first post on the forums (please go easy on me)! 😂 Anyway, here goes… I have a Ford Fiesta Mk7 (58 Reg - 2009) which came with the numerical dial-pad stereo and Bluetooth only from factory, and wanted to upgrade to have both USB and Bluetooth streaming enabled. After reading some threads here and a bit of research, I decided to take the plunge and purchased a Novero 8M5T-19C112-AT module off of eBay, replacing the Novero 6M2T-19G488-AG module, along with the appropriate fascia for the AUX and USB ports and routing the USB cable from the module to it. I then got on to a local garage who happily programmed via Ford IDS, the parameters (that others have mentioned several times): 'USB Accessory Unit' > 'With USB Unit and iPod function' and 'Bluetooth Handsfree' > 'BT/VC Phone Interface + USB connect'. I also remember some kind of BVC setting that was either 'Low' or 'High' (or something involving those words). Attempted update via USB to update module/stereo which showed as being successful on the stereo display. Unfortunately, here are the symptoms: USB power does work. When plugging a USB stick in, it can see the MP3 files but will not play back (reverting back to AUX). Pressing the AUX button multiple times does nothing. iPod and USB options do now appear, but only accessible when respective device is connected; However, no Bluetooth option visible. 'External Device' voice commands result in 'Not Possible' response. Connecting devices via Bluetooth and attempting to stream audio does not play sound through the car stereo, although devices appear to play like 'normal'. Pulling stereo and module fuses to force power reset does not work. Disconnecting USB and module loom cable to force reset does not work. Don't know if anyone remembers coming across this issue, but I've tried to see if anyone else had similar issues on the web forums, but no real luck, apart from one quite similar, if not the same situation, that involved making sure both relevant parameters were programmed via Ford IDS. Therefore: Could the incorrect BVC parameter of either 'Low (non-branded)' or 'High (non-branded)' affect the functions? Possibility of malfunctioning module? Is it normal for iPod and USB options not to do anything unless connected? Might just be the display, but it does kind of look like the iPod and USB options are hashed out? Does the actual stereo/relevant equipment need updating via Ford IDS or is updating via standard USB connection adequate enough? Apologies for such a detailed post, but hope it's good enough for anyone to fully understand the situation. Would be good to get it working! Let me know what you guys think. Much appreciated! P.S. Oh, and also anyone with Ford IDS who can help in the Leeds/West Yorkshire region?
  13. Hi I have a 15 plate Focus Titanium and was wondering what the USB port in the dash is for because on my focus it doesn't charge my phone and it doesn't recognise any USB memory sticks (I've tried a few all formatted to FAT32), yet the USB port inside the 'media hub' (the armrest) works perfectly with the same memory sticks and phone. Does anyone have any information about it, as my dealer is telling me it's for phone charging only, even though it doesn't charge mine! I don't suppose it's a major problem but it's annoying me, especially the information the dealer is giving me. I have asked this question within another post but it was an old topic and I didn't get many replies, none of which answered my question, sorry for asking again if you have already responded to that post. Cheers for any info.
  14. Hi there, I just purchased a used Pre Facelift MK7 2013 Ford Fiesta Ambiente. The car only has an AUX port located at the handbrake. My previous car had an aftermarket radio installed which had an USB port that I wish I could have in my new vehicle. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the AUX connection and replace it with an AUX and USB as I have seen the higher models have them installed. It is the entry level sound system which I have installed and I'm wanting to upgrade it all without having to buy an aftermarket radio as getting an aftermarket faceplate will be a hassle in my current location and getting one made is not a simple task. Has anyone successfully installed one and can guide me on what parts are needed? I have spoken to someone in Ford sales and they said the wire harness might be different and would get back to me but I have not heard from them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. With Thanks
  15. Updating Radio

Hi, I have a 2010 focus mk2.5 which I bought preowned. I bought a genuine Ford cable to connect my iPod to the steering column controls but it is not working at all. I have downloaded an update for the radio onto a USB stick but when I plug it in nothing happens. The stick is flashing but nothing else happens. Anyone has any ideas please???? I have spent hours on this now...
  16. 59 Plate ford focus Sat nav/USB

I have a 2.0 tdci ford focus 2009 i have the aux and usb ports in the armrest in centre console but they seem to be intermittent or not connecting at all also same with bluetooth i have a iphone 6 and was wondering if it needs new software (the car sat nav) any body else had these problems?
  17. Does anyone know where i can get a decent looking combined USB/Aux port that will connect to my new head unit Ideally i would like it to match the colour of my consol. some of the ones ive seen on ebay are black and not that pleasant to look at. to fit either next to the heated windscreen or in the gap where the redundant ESP button lies.
  18. My 2013 Fiesta refuses to recognise my 16gb USB sticks. all worked fine until I replaced one and then the new one would only play intermittently. it progressively got worse to the point it just said it was unrecognised or no UBS drive was inserted. I switched back to the old stick and the car won't recognise that one either! Strangely, a 1gb card works fine. Since all this happened, my steering wheel controller has started playing up and i'm wondering if these bugs could be related? I have removed the fuse, disconnected the BT module and reconnected it to try and reset the unit but all my attempts have failed. Ford tell me it'll cost over £100 to book it in for them to look at it and thats before they've spent any time working on it! It's been back once while it was under warranty to have the steering controls fixed after the volume became unresponsive so I'm reluctant to take it back there again. does anyone know of a DIY way of Factory resetting the head unit or booting it back into life? thanks
  19. Hi, New member and new ford owner and I need some help. I recently bought a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium (from sandicliffe) and my iPhone wasn't working while connected via the USB slot (Bluetooth is working fine, aux not tested yet) then the radio died (black screen) so I've just picked it up after having a "new FCDIM screen fitted and programmed in FDRS" and I was hoping the program was connected however the USB slot is still not working. It shows the track name and the music is playing but the only sound is a very quiet static. I'm not sure to take it back or see if I can sort it out, hence why I'm seeing if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks Phil
  20. Hello, Firstly, not sure if this is in the right section so apologies if not! I've got a 2015 Ford Focus zetec and until today it's been working beautifully. The problem I'm getting is when I get in the car plug the phone in and turn on the ignition it starts charging and connecting to either music or Spotify, after a few seconds however, it'll say USB 1 (or 2, depending on the port) device removed. But it'll definitely still be plugged in. It then stops charging the phone. ive tried removing and plugging it back in with absolutely nothing happening (no charging or sync notifications) on either USB port. The only way I can get to do anything is by turning the ignition off, opening the door, closing the door and turning the ignition back on, but then I'm back to square one with the disconnecting after 5-10 secconds. I've also tried a sync master reset with no luck and the issue still occuring. Im really hoping someone here can help as it used to be working like a dream! Thanks in advance! Tom
  21. Hello, Due of the recent increase of points and fine for using a mobile while driving I am looking to install factory bluetooth and usb on my fiesta. I understand that to do this using original parts I may require the following (Please correct if wrong and post part numbers if available) Radio - I assume that mine requires to be upgraded? Or maybe its ready? Bluetooth Module Wiring Loom - From radio to Bluetooth module? USB & 3.5mm Jack USB & 3.5mm Jacking Wiring Loom - as current 3.5mm wiring loom is unlikely to have the usb ready to be plugged in. Then finally I know someone with ford IDS who will need to tell the body control module/or radio? my car has bluetooth and usb This this worth the cost and hassle or should I just buy a Parrot for like £150 plus wiring kit?
  22. Hi All, Just over a week ago, I purchased a 2013 Grand C-Max Titanium X, having upgraded from a 2003 Ford Focus. It's a pleasure to drive, and all the mod cons, are a welcome addition too. The only niggling frustration I have, is the fact that my Sony stereo (the factory-fitted one), seems to be randomly pausing for a period of approx. a second, every 30 seconds or so (sometimes even more frequently than that). The music then picks up from 1 second further into the track, and plays again. Regardless of whether I have the DAB radio on, or music playing from another source (such as the USB port), it's happening all the time. I've tried switching the Traffic Announcements off, to see if it was periodically checking for an announcement, but the issue persists. At first, I paid a blind eye to it, but spending over two hours in the car each day, commuting to and from work, it's now becoming an annoyance. Having had a good look at various articles on the Internet, I can't find any other individuals reporting similar occurrences, like this. As such, I'd be most grateful, if anybody can share any insight into what may be the root cause of this issue, and better-still, how to fix it. Thanks in advance for your help with this. Joe
  23. Hi Guys, I started having issues with the female USB port below the gear stick, all of a sudden its stop recognising anything that's plugged in. After looking into it a bit more I think the port has corroded inside, it has a bit of blue starting to appear. I've done a few searches on this forum and through google looking for possible solutions to fix this, if fiesta was a bit older the easiest way of solving this would have been as simple as attaching a USB clip on connection, would have cost me £6, sods lore the connection on mine is all sealed up and fords changed it. Looking at this I think I have three options Get it fixed by a ford dealer (a possibility of the whole wire loom needing replacing), my last resort due to possible cost Cut the wire and attach a new female adapter via a joining box or something to join the inner cables, or even solder them together costing around £10 Somehow open up the original connector and solder in a new USB connection leaving the cable as it is and using the original USB casing costing costing between £5-£10 Regarding 2 ans 3 I know this is a possibility on general USB data cables, i just don't know if it would work? would the ford cables be any different, inner wires and colours etc..? Other than the above does anyone know of an alternative method that I could try to get it working before taking it apart on the assumption that it may or may not be corroded? Thanks for any advice Matt
  24. Help - really stuck!

Afternoon! First up, my apologies for going over this again - I know there are dozens of posts about it! I've spent a small fortune trying to fit Bluetooth and usb etc and have failed at the final hurdle 😞 My '08 focus titanium hadn't got any of the Bluetooth loom so I bought the following: 1429813 loom (and lengthened the microphone cable slightly) 1806256 module (this is the latest 19c112 unit with Bluetooth and USB). I couldn't find a decent one second hand so bit the bullet and bought a new one at £250+! The usb and aux plate that goes in the centre console plus usb cables etc - all oem ford parts. Now everything is up and running but there is no sound. If I ring someone they can hear me but I cannot hear them. i bought the patch cable 1592580 but there is nowhere to plug it in, with the car not having had any of the Bluetooth loom. Can anyone please help as I'm over £400 into this but am completely stumped and cannot get the system working? i believe I need to somehow feed the sound back into the head unit?! cheers, Rich
  25. Hi all, First post! I've just bought myself a 58 plate Titanium, I'm massively pleased with it, I made sure it had some of the gadgets I wanted such as cruise control, parking sensors etc. knowing that I could have a go at retrofitting the bluetooth myself (and for an added bonus get USB support! - fingers crossed). I know this is a heavily discussed subject, but please bear with me, I have done my research. So, I have the Sony single CD (no DAB) with MP3 support, and I've checked the firmware (press and hold 1 & 6 together then turn on stereo) and it's 05-03-03 so I think I'm also good for USB support. I've also got the correct light housing for the microphone and it looks like I have a wire stowed up there to clip the microphone into. I've taken the glovebox out and I'm pretty positive I don't have the wiring loom for the bluetooth/VC module so this is the only sticking point so far. I'm just about ready to email Ford Parts UK to get a quote and place an order and could do with a few pointers before I go ahead. Any help is hugely appreciated. I have the microphone wire, where does this come out? I had a 3 pin black and red socket taped to the existing AUX input cable, it had white/black, yellow/black, and black cables attached. Is this it? Once I've confirmed, how am I going to attach this up to the new wiring loom? I found an excellent guide to fitting USB in the glovebox with an original bezel to hold the USB here http://www.fordxr5tu...p?topic=12187.0 It says the the Nokia bluetooth module has been replaced with a Novero (1726157 Module (AU7T-19C112-AR) is this OK for my stereo and will it give me full USB/ Voice control support? Once I've got it all installed what do I need to ask Ford to program with the WDS, I've seen various things posted, but I get the feeling I'd turn up and they wouldn't know what I was on about? Can anyone tell me exactly what to ask for? I've gathered part numbers from all over the place, it looks like they get replaced with never versions, can anyone confirm the below? Bluetooth: 1726157 Module (AU7T-19C112-AR, 2010 Module Bluetooth BT/VC+USB Connect) 1353218 Module Bracket 1355147 Screw For Bracket x 2 1318965 Steering Control Stalk 1532666 Bluetooth Mic 1467152 Retrofit patch loom for universal fit. (there seems to be different versions of this for focus/fiesta??) USB: 1543691 USB cable 1543450 USB socket 1550778 Glovebox bezel Finally if anyone can recommend anywhere to get hold of some of the parts other than Ford Parts UK that would be appreciated, I've not had much luck sourcing stuff on ebay.
