Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Problems with 'SYNC media'

Hi all, I'm currently having issues using the SYNC media function in my fiesta ecoboost. My android phone connects to SYNC via Bluetooth as usual but when I go to listen to music the message 'play music from device' appears. It does not say connect a bt device so I'm unable to play any music through my phone. This did happen to me a few months back where I ended up using the AUX instead and then it magically started working again. If anyone know what this is please advise as it's getting a bit annoying now. Kind regards, TheScoobyCollector.
  2. Hi i currently have the Pioneer SPH-da120 unit fitted in my 08 focus but this is a predominantly Apple orientated piece of kit. I am about as anti-'crapple' as you can and own nothing 'ipoo' related! I am looking at upgrading my headunit to the 240BT unit which supports android auto. Does anybody fancy a swap plus cash or have any interest in buying my head unit so that i can put it towards upgrading to the Android friendly 240? Apologies if this should be in the for sale thread if so i will create a proper sale thread but at this moment in time i am just looking for interest to see what my options are.
  3. Hey Everyone, So I just went and treated my self a Samsung S8+, After being an Iphone user for so long I thought I'd go a different way BUT now my world is falling apart (well maybe an exaggeration but anyway). SO I synced the bluetooth with no problems, and then I plugged in the USB 3.1 Connector and O crap. Charges fines, but it will only come up unknown format then USB initialising, and then when I disconnect the USB to try and go bluetooth it won't change to bluetooth. when i've got Line in selected and press AUX it just comes up USB initialising WITH NOTHING CONNECTED and the only way to stop this is turning off the ignition. Has anyone seen this with android? I am regretting my decision :( Shes a 2012 Fiesta Titanium TDCI econetic Thanks everyone :)
  4. Hi guys, I have recently bought my 2005 Focus Estate and I want to upgrade the head unit. It is a pre facelift dash as the Sony head unit I have is square, not oval shaped. I am looking at getting an Android styled head unit, but this has raised a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help me with. 1: If I take the square Sony head unit out and want to fit a like for like replacement is this a standard double din? 2: Does the pre facelift variation of the focus use a "canbus" 3: I have seen this stereo which I like the look of, its not main brand I know but im not to bothered about that - what concerns me is that it wont fit, I have been told the head unit is double din size 179(W) x 100(H) - will this fit on my dash or will it be to big / small ? - Will I need anything else or should it bolt straight in! I really hope someone can help with this, I have searched high and low and cannot seem to find a clear answer! Many thanks, Ell.
  5. Hi, I'm currently part way through a tablet in-dash install and i am looking into OBD scanners that can Bluetooth to an android device so i can get info up on the tablet. The problem i'm having is there seems to be a lot of confusion around what type of scanners to use with which version of (pre/post facelift) Mondeo. I have a 53 reg, 130bph, TDCI Diesel. Has anyone got / can recommend a OBD scanner for one of these? Or any knowledge of what i need to be looking for when i buy one? I've found this on Ebay for £4.24 but i'm not sure if it'll work. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBD2-OBD-II-Bluetooth-Car-Scanner-ELM327-v2-1-Super-Mini-Adapter-Android-Torque-/162142331975?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 I've also found this guide of models and their connectivity, which seems to suggest the above will work but i'm not sure. http://pinoutsguide.com/CarElectronics/ford_obd_2_pinout.shtml Any insight you can give would be great, Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi, I hope someone can help? I have a Ford Focus 2011, but cannot get my Samsung note 3 to load my contacts into Fordsync. This is due to the fact that the android operating system has been updated, is there another way of loading my contacts? Any help gratefully accepted....... Spence
  7. Hi. I'm looking for some help regarding the functions available via the steering wheel on my Mondeo MK4. I've read numerous threads that touch on this topic but I haven't found any definitive answers so I thought It would be worth starting a specific one here. Background I replaced the original Sony 6 CD Head Unit with an Auto-Pumpkin (MTCC RK3188 KLD6 V2.91) which has an external CAN bus decoder. What works (the left steering wheel button array):- Volume Up/Down Track next/previous Function button to cycle between AM/FM Radio, DVD, AV-IN, Video, Audio App What doesn't work (the right steering wheel button array and indicator stick additional functions):- Ability to select mobile phone options (answer/end calls, call list, address book) Voice commands button I never used the voice controls so that's no great loss, but I did use the mobile phone controls often, so would like to explore the options of regaining them. I am aware that varying levels of CAN bus functionality can be achieved by selecting different configurations from the settings menu on the head unit, and some people have even re-wired for improved function but not on a MK4 Mondeo (that I can find via google). I'm assuming the phone issue is CAN bus related because when I select any function that is based on the SoM (DVD, FM Radio, Video in etc) the Convers+ shows more options, including phone (although it is greyed-out - I'm assuming because no phone is paired). I also noticed that the Ford bluetooth module is still active as it shows up, but only when this menu is available. Unfortunately I can't connect to it because the Android HU doesn't display the PIN for pairing like the original Sony HU did. This is a picture of the Convers+ when the Android HU is operating with only Android apps running (e.g. DAB tuner, Rocket Player) This is picture of the same Convers+ when any of the SoM apps are running (DVD, FM Radio, Video in etc) Correct me if I'm wrong, but it would seem that the CAN bus controller activates only when one of the SoM apps are running? I only understand the basics of CAN bus and how it interacts with the HU so this is very much a wild guess. What I would like is to have my phone controls available via steering wheel buttons, in whatever way that is possible. Any help, advice or suggestions are, as always, greatly appreciated. p.s. these are the HU details
  8. As promised I have been in discussion with Steve regarding Tapatalk for use on mobile devices. After a bit of arm twisting (I think I deserve some 'likes' from you guys here ;)) we have decided to launch our own Ford OC app and it is now available on the Google Play Store here for FREE: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tapatalk.fordownersclubcomforums Please bear in mind it is new so if you encounter any problems then please let me know. Please download it and give it a try if this is to be successful for us then we really need to get as many downloads as possible and please give a nice review and 5 star rating (that would be much appreciated thanks)! :D If you are an FOC Supporter member then you should also not see any ads displayed (another bonus!) ALSO IOS users we have not forgotten you! Rest assured we are working on getting the IOS version of the app available soon but we have had a couple of issues to address and it does take a little longer to get approval to be in the app store but watch this space. I will let you know as soon as it is available in the coming weeks! ;) UPDATE - IOS VERSION NOW AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD FROM THE APP STORE https://itunes.apple.com/app/ford-oc/id728307140 The IOS version is now available to enhance the FOC mobile experience for Apple users - please download and rate! :) James
  9. Hello everyone, I've got a Ford Fiesta Zetec S 57 Plate and i've been looking at android head units for my car and got two to choose from, I like the look of the pumpkin one a bit more and its got a bigger screen but unsure on the performance of it compared to the eonon. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated thank you http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pumpkin-Capacitive-Multi-touch-Navigation-Multimedia-y/dp/B00OB90SOY http://www.eonon.co.uk/2-Din-Car-GPS/G2110Z.html
