Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. ;Dear fellow Fiesta owners,I have been driving a Ford Fiesta Mark VI which I purchased in 2010.I have been facing trouble to start the engine lately. After turning the key to start the engine, there is no kick in the engine whatsoever. This is a video of the many attempts at starting the engine: However, after the 5th attempt or so, I would hear this clicking and grinding noise (Noise begins at 0:05 mark and ends at 0:19 in video below) which continues even after I remove the key from the ignition. After the noises stop and when I attempt to start the engine again, the engine would be able to start as usual. But the 'check engine' light would remain lighted (have a listen at the noise before I was able to start the engine up). After being able to start the engine once, I am able to start it again. However the problem would come back again after a drive and when I park it and try to start it again. It is unlikely that this problem is cause by a weak battery since I recently changed the battery to a new one about 3 months ago. This problem would come and go but it has been going on everyday for the past week. Not sure what seems to be causing it.As of to date, I have only encountered one other problem which is with the gearbox computer. Swapped it out and it has been working well.Has any of you faced this problem before? Do let me know! Thanks!
  2. My 2013 ford fiesta 1L ecoboost's start stop isnt working, the button to turn it on and off just stays illuminated when pressed, you can turn the light off when the ignition is on but as soon as you start the car the light comes on and you cannot turn the light off, and therefor the start stop isnt working. any advice thanks
  3. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this - any help would be gratefully received!! Once I switch my windscreen wipers on, I can't turn them off. At all. The stalk itself is in perfect working order but when set back to the 'off' position they keep going. When I turn the engine off they keep going... When I take the key out & lock the car they keep going... I think you get the picture! It started a few weeks ago when, whilst the wipers were set to wipe intermittently they suddenly juddered & started wiping continuously. I reset the stalk to 'off' and they kept going thus rendering the stalk useless (unlees you want to turn on fast wipe which works fine!) I found that the only way to switch them off was to open the bonnet and once I open the fuse box lid the wipers stop mid wipe - I don't have to touch anything inside the fusebox (although I have made sure all the fuses are seated correctly), once they're stopped I can then use the stalk to single wipe to reset the wiper position. All back to normal. This led me to think it was the fuse so I popped to the local dealers (as Halfords don't stock them) & bought a replacement No. 30 Circuit Breaker, fitted it and crossed my fingers. Yesterday it was raining and during a 20 minute journey the wipers seemed to be working fine - switching from intermittent to continuous wipe to off and back again perfectly, this lead me to turn to my son and say 'at least the wipers are working again...' 2 minutes later at journeys end the bonnet was up & I was removing the fusebox lid again - but this time when I try to reset the wiper position they just start up again... I've never posted on a forum before which probably indicates how completely baffled I am by this. When I went to buy the fuse at the Ford Dealer I told the Service Reception guy & he just looked as confused as me. I've told mechanic friends and they haven't heard of this before. Any help or advice would be welcome! Thanks in advance. Mark.
